Chassis Swap List

Is there a better chassis swap for the VW SambaBus? I've tried the S2000 chassis, and the rear wheels stick through the wheel covers, and I find that it oversteers quite alot, even more than the stock chassis.

I haven't tried it yet, but have plans to later today, Toyota AE86 seems to fit the specs. Will report on result a little later.

Sambabus on the AE86 Shigeno chassis is spot on. The thinner wheel track compensates for the suspension drop, so it looks like it's been tucked in. No visible poke through until you hit some pretty large steering angles, and absolutely no poke at the rear.

Loves to be completely sideways, but is certainly not for beginners. I don't profess to be anywhere near Class A when it comes to drifting, but this was not the easiest drift vehicle I've made. Adding ballast to take it to a 50/50 weight distribution certainly helped the handling, though it was still a handful, requiring a slightly more delicate touch than I possess.

"Driftabus"
Base spec - 794bhp, 700kg, 606pp

Toyota AE86 Shigeno chassis
RUF CTR engine (Semi race exhaust for sound, no turbo added, as this gives it well over 1000bhp)
Subaru Impreza Rally Car '03 suspension (70mm total ride height adjustment, picture is at tallest setting)

It'd poke more yeah, seeing as The LFA is Wider than the Eclipse, and the F430 is wider than the LF-A. You'd just have to camber it a bit more to look flush/clear the wells.

I forgot to mention about the weigth... witch one is heavier? LFA or F430?

Whats a good chassis to slam the 1970's 2000 Skyline GT-R ? Its Width is 1665mm & Length is 4330mm Thanks! (i just can't find a chassis that would actually slam it.)

The ride height has nothing to do with the chassis, it's all about the suspension you use.

320i chassis is perfect for all BMW E46's, 330i, Camaro 69, IS350. Also check out the BMW F1 Race car chassis. It can fit some of these very well too

Fitment, weight and handling are the main things the chassis brings to the party.

Good to know, Thanks. So what chassis should I go with to make the 1970's 2000GT-R to make the tires poke out some? I need some low to it too though... but I don't know which suspension I should use though. does it also have to fit to the wheel length and width as the chassis does?

I would say either the 1st gen Focus Rally car or the Audi S4 '98 would do the job. Use the Bentley or Impreza Rally suspension, depending on your preference >:0)

The number they go down by is irrelevant, as you've found out. It has more to do with the donor car's natural ride height. For example, I use the Bentley Speed 8 for all my cars. It only has a -30 "drop", but this is the effect it will have on the Sambabus.

It has a range of -30 to +15, and is fully adjustable as normal.

yea I realized lol, starting using the r8 racecar chassis for my cars, working out well so far

Ill Give them both a try tomorrow and post pic's something tells me the audi and impreza should be the best choice, Thanks!

The Amemiya Hot Version Touge Street FD3S Chassis goes well with the FD3S (Tried it out with Spirit R Type A version but should go well with Type R '91). Good to have 255/40R17 on all 4 corners with downforce on front & rear ^_^.

Its basically the same car...

"udontsay?" BUT the handling is better with this chassis if you don't want the car having its tires coming out of the chassis AND having wider tires that stay within the fenders (Not fully correct because I haven't tried out the TC FD or Lotus Esprit Chassis swaps).

Try it yourself. Sheesh, don't be saying something before trying it out. It's like saying the same statement but for someone suggesting something like a TC RX7/LM RX7. -_- *facepalm at logic*
