Well here is my stand, cost me 15 $CAN + paint! All i used is 2 sheet 2x4 1/2 inch MDF and 1 8' 2x2 + 1 1/2 wood screws and some woodfiller to hide the screws. Took me an hour maybe. :)

All I need is a seat for mine and I'm set. I went with the PVC, cage-type setup for my wheel mount/pedal box frame. Works nicely. 22 dollars in materials, so far. All I need is a seat and a wood base and I'm done.

If anyone lives in the Phoenix area and wants to get rid of a seat (not too ripped up) for real cheap, please PM me.

I know not many ppl are going to read this post...

But for what it's worth, that Gamester cockpit set is a pretty good investment. The wheel takes some getting used to, but it has 7 sensitivity settings, as well as tons of positioning adjustments. One thing I must note, however, is that you need to put it on a hard surface. We have been using it on my friends bed, and it's just not sturdy enough.

BTW, I'm 6'2" and it has pretty good space for my cankles. :P

Is there a way to split the screen into 3 like in the picture?

Yeah I think there is, in the manual theres something about how to setup that 3 tv system. It requires 3 playstation all linked together through a network, 3 copies of the game and of course 3 tvs so its not a cheap thing to do.

there is actually a way (I believe) to get 6 total screens. I was gonna look into it, but yeah... 6 ps2s... i dunno.

Built mine from the side of a wardrobe, the fronts of some old draws and the seat from an '84 Ford Sierra Ghia.

Just got my steering wheel a few days ago and couldn't standing using it in my lap. I noticed I had this crappy little cabinet that wasnt used for much, so I decided to rip it apart a bit. After a few modifications like removing the door and some face plates (you can see off to the left) everything fit just fine.

It's not the best right now because the only chair I have sucks, but for a small college dorm room where space is slim it works fine.

Heres my cockpit. Only spent about 50 dollars "USD" to make it from steel. Its still unfinished but very comfortable to sit in. Though i'll spend more on it to finish it off when I hang a body on it. When its finished it'll look like the front half of a MP4/8 :)
Still the frame can be built for 50 or under depending on the materials used and your knowlege of fabrication.

Looks really advanced. I have seen many "professional" versions favours some kind of pedal angle.. and that is a problem behind the desk.. anyone has a desk-based pedal-angel setup? Books?

Another angle of my friend's setup--a better view of the custom-built adjustable stand. He just finished the 5+ hour Fuji endurance race.

Does your friend have a write up on that thing? I really wanna make one. It looks awesome.

I second that! PLEASE POST PLANS FOR THIS!

I may be needing something that size this summer.

cost me about $20 in wood (I had the seat laying around).

the seating position was measured from a Lola B2k/40 LMP2 car, so it's fairly realistic for the p cars anyway...

I ordered my DFP today 👍 (Can't wait to try it out), so i thought about what im gonna use for a cockpit. I had a look at this thread and the pics you guys posted really helped me get ideas, so spending alot on the DFP i didn't want to spend much on the cockpit.
I had a look around my room for anything suitable and found this workout bench, so took me all night to modify it but it actually turned out pretty good (will post pics later) i basiclly turned it upside down and use the legs so good idea for you guys :sly:

Okay guys, I promised that I would post the pictures of my cockpit, and here they are. It's not finished yet, but will be finished this weekend, and I'll take some more pictures then. We are planning to powder coat this frame so that it will look nicer :) My buddy mentioned again that he will make one for anyone who may be interested. :dopey: If you are interested, please e-mail me at texagi95@yahoo.com.

Enjoy!! :)

That looks really good 👍 , RotoryGOD! Man, I wish I have one. I'm sick and tire of clamping my wheel to the coffee table, it just doesn't feel right :yuck: . I need something just like that to make it more real! How much are you selling it for? How soon can I get it?

Thanks for the interest 👍 !! We are still wrapping up the prototype, and will probably finish up by this weekend 👍 . We can build'em with the seat (no seat cover) and powder-coated for around $225.00 USD a piece... It will probably take a couple of days to make, and then shipping.... If you want more info. E-mail me at texagi95@yahoo.com

Took a little less than an hour to make and some wood I had laying around the garage. It works great too.
