ConadBocha whats with the bright light around the pedals?
It's a broken reflective sign made of aluminium.ConadBocha whats with the bright light around the pedals?
You guys are making me jealous... I am gonna have to go scrap metal shopping.
D_Logannurburgring, you are elite!
Where do you get those micro switches and all the other stuff you rigged up to the MadCatz controller?
I want one!
Yeah, is too high cause isn't finished yet. Still we must take some measures.nurburgringBocha, your setup is great too! Is the gearshift at the good height?
It seems to be a little high... post a picture with somebody sitting in!
Thanks Nurb, very useful.nurburgringI just find the link for the Sony controller modification, regarding to the wirings for external switches:

Dont be afraid, it is more easier than it looks...
epsilon-2I went down to a auto interior specialist and told him what I was doing .
He sent me up a ladder to get a seat, there were about 100 and a I picked a sports car looking one and he sais it's yours. Free, it was kinda brown and tan so it's not the coolest looking thing but its solid and clean.
I have the ECCI peddle set which rocks.
I am currently having a frame welded which will support the wheel by attaching to the chair frame and coming up between my legs with Jergins push pins to change the height.
I have 2 Roland studio speakers and a Sony 34 inch HD 16:9 monitor, a RGB cable for PS2.
I love all the setups on here.
My main issue is making sure my setup is rock solid, no sliding or moving of pieces.
will post pics when I get finished.
OzRacerCan you give a bit more info on those ECCI pedals please?
I'm yet to buy a DFP (they're actually hard to find in Australia at the moment, most/if not all shop are waiting on stock from Logitech).....the only reservation I have about the DFP is the plastic pedals. The wheel feels great, but the standard plastic pedals are a real letdown in comparison (IMHO).
The ECCI pedals on the other hand look fantastic.....how well do they compliment the GT4/DFP experience??

nurbnoobI just hooked up two auro pro bass shakers and a 156w amp from computer bugg. WOW. Is all I can say at the moment, changes the feel of the whole thing to something approaching a real sim.
SimRaceDriverI've been thinking about adding a few bass shakers as well...do you mind letting me know how you hooked them up to your PS2? Am I right in assuming you're also probably using a stand alone receiver and that you're PS2 is plugged into this and that from this receiver, you've also hooked up the wires going to the bass shakers? I know the amp that powers the bass shakers has its own power-source...right?
Thanks for any info you can share!
Thanks,
SimRaceDriver:
nurbnoobI have another amp just a cheap sherwood thing that I paid $5 for that runs my headphones (have two year old child in next room!) and because the shakers and headphones only need a mono signal I put one channel to the headphones and the other to the shaker amp. If you werent using headphones you could just use the shaker amp as it also has posts to drive speaker either high pass or low pass for a sub or both. I have to say that computer bugg were first rate in every respect. Excellent help in answering questions and from time of order I had the items in my hand in less than a week from Pennsylvania in the US to Canberra, Australia! Price for two shaker pros (the better ones with fins and more grunt) and a 156 w amp was $150US on ebay plus $98 for post (ouch). Very happy with the result, it really helps the immersion factor 100%
SimRaceDriverThanks for the response! Much appreciated!
I currently have my PS2 going through an Onkyo receiver, seen here using the OPTICAL out on the back of the PS2...which allows me to use either headphones or the 5.1 surround sound speakers it came with...It has the following rear connectors...and this is how I've got every setup right now
Any advice on how I'd be able to utilize this receiver and still use the bass shakers and its own amp?
Thanks again!
SimRaceDriver
nurbnoobI'm no expert on the s#&* by a long way but if you want to still have surround 5.1 and the shakers I would try your sub pre out (bottom left) to give a signal to the shaker amp and then either use the speaker outs on the shaker amp or the ones on the onkyo. does that make sense? your setup is light years ahead of mine trust me and I am very happy with what I have now. i would love to have surround but it just isn't practical with a two year old unless I set it up in the garage and that is just frankly too far from the fridge!
