The other end goes to a switch. The handbrake Chilicoke (and myself) used came from a Honda S2000 and had a switch already fitted (originally to activate the handbrake-on light on the dash).

So, wire up the other ends to the switch. Obviously, it depends on the type of handbrake you use. There are loads of alternatives; just have a dig around on this site. :)

That's the second reason I don't install a handbrake on mine. Nowhere to mount it.

The first is that I plan on having RHD days where I move the shifter over and only drive British/Japanese cars.

💡
Maybe figure out some way to attach one to the bar of the shifter mount?

I was thinking of using the keyboard trays L-mount and bolt it right behind my shifter mount and get a box built up with a handbrake in it.

Also could I get my g27 RPM LEDs hooked up to a digital Tacho? That would be sweet!!

hi chilicoke,

I tried the ebrake mod for my g27 but somehow it didnt work. i noticed that the g27 shifter board has only 2 connectors instead of 3. the one that is missing is the j12 connector that i assume is for the grounding. so any other workaround?

Hey guys, just a lil' FYI, I don't think chilicoke has posted since last July, so I kinda doubt he's hitting these boards too often anymore. He does have a mail link on his page, http://chilicoke.com/, so I might suggest starting there.

for the shifter LEDs, use flat top ones. they will spread the light out better making it easier to see (no need for bigger ones).

I think i'm going to do the inverted pedals and the shifter mod .

great DIY videos

Guys in the ebrake video, chili's shifter has a silver switch between the 4 red buttons and the shifter. What is this thing? My new G27 doesn't have it but instead has just the logitech logo. Is this a mod?

No its not a mod fella, its the selector for H pattern or sequential box that the G25 had but was removed on the G27. While Im here any update on shift light mods anyone?

Ok thats a G25! :)

Anyone that has done the ebrake mod on a G27 can verify that the procedure is the same as with the G25 shown on the video guide?

Just ordered the wheel adapter/350mm paddles over the weekend. Looking forward to racing with a more comfortable wheel!

The only mod (if you can call it that) I've done is swapping the brake/clutch pedals. My feet are too wide and I end up sitting bow-legged which tends to make you sore after awhile. I drive with the paddles 98% of the time anyway.

G27 no different with G25 on Ebrake mod
I'm the one who follow chilicoke to done this.
clear & smooth mod guide. 👍

Can I ask, how hard is it to do the shifter mod to a g27?- I really want to do it but dont want to screw up my shifter.

The shifter mod is pretty easy, you have to make sure to take your time.

2 things to make sure you don't screw up

-make sure the spacer is the right length

-make sure the sensor on the shifter base is put in the right way, when I put mine back in it was upside down and it took me awhile to figure out why the gears were all backwards.

just take your time and make sure everything goes back the way it came out. Also I recommend putting some more grease on it. there isn't much that comes on it, so I put a nice glob of grease on the bearing before putting it back together .

I have a g27 want to know if changing the wheel voids the waranty? If so can I put a little threadlock on the screws if I have to send it back. When they open it they will get the same feeling, crack the screw loose. Wondering if anybody tried it.

Sorry for bringing this topic back, but I need help. I tried to do the Handbrake mod on my G27 and did everything as I should. The problem is: When I put both wires together, my G27 turns off. All the buttons still work. Has anyone had this problem before? Can anyone help me?

Ok, regarding the hanging pedal mod... Can I just swap the position of the clutch and accelerator pedals and put them back in the original Logitech base and hang that at an angle?

I don't think this guy is around anymore. I ordered some of his parts (G25 Adapter and 320 mm paddles) from his website and NOTHING. Didn't return emails, no product. NOTHING. Seems like he's taking orders and money, but NOT sending anything. Beware.

Myself along with many many other forum members ordered and received items from chillicoke with no problems in the past....

He hasn't been on the forums for a while so not sure what the go is there....

If you payed with paypal you can always open a dispute.

I know people have ordered with no problem before. I'm not sure what happened, either, but something has happened.

The dispute / claim is being looked at via PayPal already. I just wanted to let anyone else considering buying to know there is a problem.

His Amazon page has customer reviews posted as recently as last week and several from December 2011 he it would seem he's still around.

Maybe he's on holidays or something.........He would have a life to you know.

I wouldn't stress too much about......I'm sure you will receive the goods you have paid for in due time.

Yup I ordered something from him in December too. It's been two weeks without any reply. I also sent him a message on YouTube account, which shows his last log in was 1/8. Well I sent the message on 1/14.

I am in no hurry getting it. Just need to know if he is still in business selling these.

No excuse. Put a note on your website then. Is he on holiday with no internet access? Not likely if he's still checking YouTube. Not even a quick email reply "Hey I'm on vacation, will ship soon." Rude and unprofessional.
