Well, I have to admit, I almost forgot that this existed, due to missing an alert for this thread. But now, with reminder of the club and two hours earlier time, which is great if you live within my time zone, I'm trying to make it to the tomorrow's race.

Hey Woodski is back. Maybe.

Maybe...

Be nice to see you again if you can make it. :)

Plans are in place, wife is forewarned, and I'll make sure the kids are up early tomorrow morning 💡.

Running some sub 1:24 laps (not with track edge real though, no penalties).

In the first tunnel at the bottom of the hill, does running on to the blue section incur a penalty?

The single player TT let's you run fully onto the blue. It's easy to over run into the tunnel, accidentally or not. Gives you a nice bit of extra track to use...if you're not too discriminating.

I guess we will have to see, during practice we have been sticking to the track.

Things will be different with more cars out there, not sure if there is an advantage going onto the blue. :)

I'm sorry I missed out on the chance of a practice this afternoon - being in the UK and working on weekdays I'm generally online after 8pm GMT - so I'll keep an eye out for any convenient sessions in the next few days.

No problem, hopefully you can make the races tomorrow. I sent you an invitation for the club. 👍

Yes, it's easy to run wide there, just depends how comfortable you are using the run off. It's a fast section and easy to over drive.
Track limits are a funny subject on some tracks, do you gain and advantage time wise?
Are you avoiding contact by giving racing room, but then gaining an advantage?
I Dunno, depends on the guy behind you.
Do you lift?:ouch:
Give the place back?:ouch:

It's up to the individual I guess.
What about that parabolic (turn 9 I think) at the bottom of the hill at Trail Mountain?
Or Ascari section at Monza?

Myself? I "TRY"to keep it between the lines.
Doesn't always work out that way tho.:scared:

Well after a few goes around Mid-Field reverse and a little tweaking I managed a 1.23.553 (with real grip - no ABS)
But translating that into online race pace is another matter!

The blue areas - I try to keep one set of wheels on the track. Not always easy when flat out.

Hopefully see you all tomorrow.

Now I've got to go and setup a Caterham 7 to throw around there. ;)

Mmm, all this practicing. I might have to start keeping each week's track a secret? :P

I always play by the rules, I just ran wide on few laps testing the limit into the tunnel. You can go flat out into the tunnel, brake on the (high grip?) paint, and get a slightly better angle into the hairpin. To stay on the track proper, I had to use a dab of brake before the turn.

Can't say for sure if it consistently gives an advantage.

Anyway, moot point as I'm sure everyone here plays fair. I was just wondering in case you did it accidentally and got a penalty.

On a different note my Mini is now carrying 662 kg to get 435pp @ 135bhp :boggled:, thought it used to be 660kg?

Maybe you changed the ballast position? That increases PP

my PP/BHP ratio changes as the night goes on. As I drop PP through races, move the slider up to reach the max allowed, I'm often at 134 BHP. After next race where it has dropped again, I'll move it up further and be bang on 135/435. Can't see 1 BHP making any difference if I'm honest, but you never know. Didn't know moving the ballast position changed the PP either, need to keep an eye on that.

Looks like Jocke won't be there for this one, so I've given my Mini a special paint job and my driver new overalls in his absence:)

BTW, I did a 1:23.323 at Midfield. Hope that's competitive:)
EDIT: I wish this Mini was a premium

I'm carrying 661kg, I did that to make sure I got my 135hp exactly on the last click of the slider, not sure if it really matters. :)

If you stop changing oil, it should stay consistent.
