Happy birthday Logan.

Fair enough @Royke1989 , having never raced you before, you're never quite sure what someone deems appropriate or not. Just seemed to keep meeting on track which usually finished with me leaving the track lol. God help us when you get full visibility of all cars, you've certainly got great pace.

Fun racing today, I'm glad I was usually off on my own or racing one other person so I avoided the chaos, I think I hit buybon once and that was about it.

No issues @bloodyboyblue was all good, firm, fair and unintentional

looking forward to next week.

That was my first racing since November. Good fun, but I really suffered with the change in grip offline to online (and tyre wear) and had lots of understeer. I really was the architect of my own downfall every time .

There was one time in the short race that I thought I got clipped, and veered across the straight (towards the final turns), but when I watched the replay it looked like I had two wheels on the curb and the rear end just snapped when I dropped off back onto the track :dopey:.

I think I'll try @FergusMik's tune next time đź‘Ť.

Final race I saw 9 cars, FWIW.

Strangely enough I've been struggling more so than usual with that recently too. My cars don't seem to feel quite right somehow. I can practice offline even with the real grip setting turned on and can manage some good lap times. Online they all get a lot looser from the start.

I'm thinking it's probably the accelerated tyre wear model causing it, which you can't replicate offline and therefore can't allow for.

Others seem to cope though. :irked:

Besides the room being strange and not knowing how many cars were really out there, I also found an odd view as a spectator after I came back after re-booting everything and the race was already under way.

I started watching the race and was going from car to car to see where everyone was. 2 cars were not in front or behind anyone....they were (in my view) directly above me with nothing but blue sky and a glare from the sun on the side. I could see smoke from sutsagrd's tires, but could not see any movement; just a dark shape of his Mini from below. The other car, woodski427, was the same view; blue sky and a dark shape of a Mini from below. Both just showing their car only in each view. sutsagrd was hundreds of feet above me and woodski427 was much lower.

^^ @Woodski_427 there's your lack of grip and understeer problem - your wheels weren't touching the ground! :odd:

I'm glad I'm not the only one with grip problems.
...get to the room to find a car you've never driven!
đź‘Ť That's a good way of describing it. :)

(Russ's Alfa race was like that. I didn't think it was too bad to drive during a quick test, then online it didn't want to go around corners! And I to put abs back on.)

Perhaps v1.16 has changed things.

Yes, it seems the the accelerated wear starts with an accelerated overheating process.

Really weird. Perhaps there is something in this multiverse theory, at least in GT land. We are all driving around in our own little worlds, with mere fleeting glimpses into the worlds and Minis beyond :boggled:.

That obviously explains how I managed to come 2nd!!!!
Never finished that high up before (in position or height!!):odd::D

We definitely had some strangeness during the races, I hope things settle down for next week.

Further to the online vs offline, I have found it's always best to just test your cars online. Everybody who is a member of our club is free to create a room anytime they want to test their Minis (or any car for that matter). Also bear in mind that there are slight differences between practice laps and actual race laps physics, I will normally start myself in a race (even if I'm alone in the room) just to test my car under actual conditions. The default room settings I use are in the OP, so you can set them up the same as race day.:)

Upcoming Wednesday March 11th, 2015 Race Agenda at Post #2 đź‘Ť

NOTE: Because of the time change (We have changed our clocks forward this past weekend) the UK racers time will be 7:00pm GMT until they change their clocks. If in doubt, just go by the 3:00pm EDT and convert from there. :)

Also, I'm going to limit the room to 12, and see if this helps to keep things more stable.

Thanks
Mik

Just a warning, we had a power outage in my area a little while ago, and since then Internet service has been intermittently up and down.

I phoned my provider and they are on it, I told them it has to be up by 3:00 EDT otherwise some Miniacs would be annoyed. :)

Will keep you posted.

I've sent a message to Loganhead (Gabe) to see if he can open the room, I'm not sure if he got it? If someone had him on their friends list, can you tell him?

My Internet is still not working, I'll try and join if it comes back.
