one of the most heart felt statements
Thanks a lot, buddy.

That being said, in the heat of the moment we all get a little over zealous.
Yeah, don't I know it. It is three years ago now that I managed to pass Step 1 in taking a Formula 3 licence.
I had so much fun in that cock-pit, setting the fastest lap time of the day (out of sixteen drivers) and improving all the time & finding better braking points. The longest straight at the track allowed for speeds of about 230km/h / 143mph. So strong was my will to go faster that I eventually spun ninety degress out onto the grass in the middle of a left hand turn, but I almost saved it though.
The car everyone used was a Formula Renault Campus, there's a picture of it on my info page.

Where are you marshalling at?

I marshal in southern California and Las Vegas Nevada.

@JockeP22 - Very well described. 👍 My thoughts expanded.

Just set up a friends only room for a bit of a testing/tuning.
I'd come and join you but my PS3 is having a bit of a melt down (again). It keeps shutting itself down while playing GT6!
I thought it was overheating so I've taken it apart and given it a clean out. It's lasted a couple of weeks and it's started doing it again. Not sure it is overheating now since the lockups are at the start of races/replays!

So while I'm experimenting with mine, I'm also installing GT6 onto a spare PS3 a friend has loaned me. Though I'm sure the updates are going to take awhile.
So one way or another, I'll hopefully be ready for Wednesday - otherwise there's a space for someone to fight over. :P
(Yes, I have backed up my save data) ;)

The world really is a small place. I watched this tv show on August 19th where the camera crew followed this club racing driver around for a weekend. Incidentally he was racing with a Mini! I thought the show was quite good and the driver (Daniel) had a nice easy-going personality.

Daniel even sleeps next to his Mini in the pit garage between Saturday qualifying and Sunday :mischievous:.
Have you ever done that, FergusMik?
I wonder if anyone has ever done such a thing.

Anyway, after watching the show I thought "Hmm, it would be cool to start up a Mini Championship online at GT6".
Seven days later August 26th FergusMik created this thread. Strange how things go sometimes.

The show is still available online but only viewable for Swedish residents.
So I uploaded it to youtube in the only manner I could at this point in time. It's not HD but I hope
it's watchable, at least. It's fairly short at fourteen minutes, and I have not attempted to translate any content in it.
If anyone should like to know what is being said at any point I'm sure I or one of the many other Swedes here can help out.
There is some nice on-board footage from when the racing segments start towards the end of the video;

A group of Minis entering hyperspeed!

She's afraid of the dark, so I have to stay with her lol. I've seen that show and went to watch STCC (Swedish Touring Car Championship) at that track in may.

Cool video, didn't understand what was said, but you can see the enthusiasm for the Mini. 👍

FergusMik, how does it work if I have 435 PP but aren't quite up to 135 BHP?
Do I need to ensure that both figures are met, or is it okay with 435 PP while the BHP is a little less than 135?
I don't know, I'm just toying with different ideas here..
thanks

I'd like to officially announce the car I'll be using tomorrow (if nothing unexpected comes in between);

I call it "The Mini Dessert".

Body is painted in Chocolate Pearl Metallic.
Wheels are painted Banana Metallic.

Brake calipers are painted in Raspberry Red Pearl.

My roof and side view mirrors are made out of mint glaze/frosting, while the tyres are specially made enlarged Oreo cookies from Nabisco (cost a fortune).

Window wipers are made from liquorice and all windows and headlights are 95 percent sugar / 5 percent water.

The doors are freshly made chocolate brownies and the hood is made out of gingerbread sponge cake.

My drivers helmet and suit has been dipped in whipped cream.

The G-forces will help mix all these ingredients together when I fly down the cork screw at Laguna Seca, creating the best racing car dessert known to man.
One request, though, no taking bites off my car when I'm in the pits! No matter how delicious it looks.

Test and tune lobby open for mini coopers.
I saw the room and was about to join but my PS3 failed again. :grumpy: It just doesn't like GT6 anymore - seems to play most other things!

During the day I installed GT6 on my "spare" PS3. With all the updates it took approximately 4 hours!!! :boggled:
I'll swap them over tomorrow, connect my wheel and all should be well for tommorows Manic Minis. If there's a free slot. :nervous:

We had a great rest and tune session this afternoon I try and open a mini lobby early for the guys across the pond on off days.

We tested some new minis. As well as try out some new tracks. Feel free to join in anytime.

See you at the track!

It sounds like a lot of testing has been going on round here - I guess I'll be winging it again :dopey:. That's if I can get past the security @FergusMik has had to hire to control the crowds at the gate .

Having said that, I built up a second car to @IfAndOr 's specification with a slightly different tune and it seemed a bit less understeery, so I might use that. Tune that is - not sure I want to turn up in a chrome pink car with pink wheels :embarrassed:.

Bring it on, the more colorful the better!
