@MannYhAvitZ

Jocke has beat me to it. :)

But here's another site that might help.

If I'm looking at it correctly I think that it will be at 2pm for you.

Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo MUCH! it seems about right! cause last Wednesday I logged in at 4pm (my time) and I only got to race 4 tracks with all of you :indiff:

My MINI is READY!!

What if GT6 allowed body mods similar to my 67 Mini? Fortech flared fenders, airdam, and rear roof mini wing. Similar kits for lots of cars would be nice. My rear "wing" looks a lot like my wife's 98 Honda Civic hatchback. It just flows from the roofline and doesn't stick up at all.

Check out the size difference between old and new Minis in the Corkscrew. And see who's ahead.View attachment 218814 View attachment 218818 View attachment 218819 View attachment 218822
Now that wing is tastefully done, it does flow nicely with the lines. 👍

I think your "Mini wing" also looks fine. 👍 It looks part of the car, not at all like the huge protuberances that PD impose on the Mini.
It would be nice to add body kits also.

Mini by name, not necessarily by design!

DAMN! I can't believe that I am getting so much positive feed back from all of you!! None of you know me and yet you guys are making me feel like I am part of this AMAZING CLUB!

View attachment 219021

All of you have like my post (video) with Positive comments, I have got an opportunity to work with Sick Cylinder
for upcoming events that he would like to be as a video and he has ask me if I could help out & I got Friend Requested by some of you as well!!
Thank you FergusMik for giving me the chance to race with you and your CREW!!! Because ALL of you have been really positive and friendly I will Make sure to be there on Wednesday to challenge ALL OF YOU & as a reward I will make sure to UPLOAD another video for you guys!

So stay sharp cause you never know which race I will upload lol...

PS: I am from Hermosillo Mexico so it says that I am a -7 PDT Time zone.... soooooo around what time will the SHOW start at my time? Can't figure it out! :indiff:
Manny, my theory is that it is the car. The classic Mini is one of those cars that people either absolutely love, or they hate it. There is no in between. I think that's why everyone here gets excited. :)
If you haven't noticed already, I'm totally in love with this car (even though I haven't owned one in years) lol!

I think I am loving this car as well!! The first time I got interested in the MINI COOPER brand was when the "Italian Job" movie came out..... ever since I was amazed with the car. Then "the bourne supremacy" came out and I was exited with the Classic Mini doing all those STUNTS!

Over all is a really amazing car! I have seen it beat Imports and cars that you would think it was not possible!!

The original "Italian Job" or the remake with Mark Walberg?

Thanks for reminding me, I haven't watched that movie for about a month, I thinkI'll watch it this weekend! (The original one)

Wouldn't it be great if PD included culverts in their course maker, imagine making a race mimicking the movie?

All of that.

Plus, I think you have set a nice balance of hp, pp and tire choice. There's enough speed and grip to give the excitement of the bumper to bumper racing we have, without being too unrealistic. If you go to fast into a corner you are still going to loose it, but get it right and you're still on the tail end of the car in front.
I've tried it with more power on less grippy tires and while it was "fun", I think we'd loose the Close Combat Mini Mayhem format you've hit upon.
And thanks to you for the idea. 👍

That and you can get 4 wide on the Nordschleife!

While I think of it, I would like to get some input from everyone regarding possibly having an endurance race in the future, with our awesome Minis!

So think about some of the parameters you would like:

1. The track.
2. Duration.
3. Pit strategy.
4. Time change and/or weather.

And anything else you can think of that is important for a good event.

I'll start... :)

1. I'm definitely a fan of Nordschleife, so my pick would be that. I prefer less laps on a longer track than tons of laps on a shorter one. 👍

2. I have found for myself personally that anything over an hour is too much for me in one stretch, so I would prefer it 1 hour or less, or even 2 smaller runs of 30 mins each.

3. I would like at least 1 mandatory pit, but no compound change since we all have been tuning our Minis for Sports Soft and really getting a feel for how our individual cars handle. :)

4. It would be kind of cool to run an event that starts out in daylight and maybe ends in dusk. I have mixed feelings about night driving with this car, since I always use the exterior view (so I can look at my Mini at all times! lol) and I find on a dark track (like Nord) its hard to see from anything but interior view (which of course sucks since its not a Premium Car, and for those of us in Canada its also not LHD).

Mik

Great great great 👍👍 Fergus i like it a LOT :)

Nordschleife
60min
min 2xpit
Sport tires... any type
some wet conditions if daytime race
from dawn until dusk
Maybe some more bhp, they will drop in 60min endurance

That is my output
Over and out

Oh hell yea I am in for that!!

I did 60 laps at SUZUKA and I did ok (4th) so I am sure I can handle this event!

Weather change & Time sounds AWESOME! it sounds awesome if we start by day and finish by night so as for the track I am ok with any track.

Is it going to have Tire wear & fuel consumption?

Sniff, sniff, do I smell a 60 lap endurance race at Suzuka?
I still have no clue how to drive a Mini, let alone race one. Bought one last night, but haven't driven it yet.

FergusMik: I'm thinking about taking you up on your invitation.
I may join you guys Wednesday night.

I don't think we have to raise the hp, I stopped changing the oil when I first buy a car, and they don't lose their power. One of my Minis has over 1500 miles on it and the specs haven't changed. I have read that you can go 3000 miles before you need to change oil. 1 hour at Nordschleife is probably what 7 or 8 laps so about 100 miles, we should be fine. :)

Yeah, I think I would leave the tire wear at fast like it is at the moment.

You are always welcome! :)
I posted my tune earlier in this thread, should give you a good starting point for your Mini, and Manny posted a video from the other night here too.

Ok, my thoughts.

1. The Nordschleife - I personally think that because of the same specs that the Minis have, any incidents (spins/crash) and differing pit stop strategies etc. would cause the field to get spread out - and not be able to catch up. So therefore because of the length of the track you may end up racing around without seeing anyone else. Not too much fun.
How about something like Brands Hatch GP (maybe 80's). It's got an interesting mix of corners, straights and elevation changes. Enough to challenge the Minis. It's also not too long that you wouldn't see another car after a spin and quite possibly cars would also get lapped. And of course, the real Mini will have raced around here (and probably still do).

2. I'd love to participate in longer races but there's usually something going on in real life that disturbs me or requires my attention. So for me at least, I'd go for your 30min duration option. I can usually manage that. :)
Also if someone disconnects or someone joins the room, they haven't got to wait so long until the next race. And you can then mix it up with a reverse grid for the second race.

3. I suppose it all depends on how fast you set the tire wear. For a 30 min race, if it's set to fast (or even very fast), one mandatory stop would be good and then leave it up to the drivers tire use strategy if they require more. Steady driving to conserve tires or drive fast and fit another pit stop in - could be interesting towards the end.
For a Mini, fuel consumption shouldn't be too much of an issue!

4. Yes why not, it'll add some extra interest. Brands Hatch has time/weather settings. :sly:
Although like you I'm not to sure about night racing, the lights aren't brilliant - much like the real ones.
Smiley's dawn to dusk sounds good. (You'd have to work out what time progression to use for your given race length)

To determine grid position, you may need to run a qualifying session before the first race

Anyway has I said - My thoughts.

I'd never considered the field spreading out over the race, good point, thanks for bringing that up. 👍

Need a new Mini without oil change... so two beauties in garage now 👍

I'm liking the sound of Brands for this. :)
Found this link in my googling...

That's an interesting site you found. 👍 Good information on the track. Also great to see the Minis whizzing around it.

But if you're thinking about Brands and endurance, go for the longer GP layout. It'll give them chance to stretch their "legs".

Nice yellow. ;) It's a Mini banana!
