My memory was correct, the 'Banana' paint chip comes with the Dodge Challenger R/T '70.I didn't have that one, when I'm feeling energetic I'm going to go through all the dealerships looking for paint colors!

Hi Daniel,I'm in for next race, if there's room.
If you haven't already done so, try the TVR's. They have some really good colours.I didn't have that one, when I'm feeling energetic I'm going to go through all the dealerships looking for paint colors!
Hi Mazda,Hi FergusMik Remember me

Your Mini Classics is becoming that popular, your going to have to run it daily soon.
Hi RJS,Just bumped into this thread. Looks like a lot of fun.
Let's say, if I want to race with you, do I need to register or can I just show up on the race?
I was doing some testing on Brands GP 80's, then Smiley showed up.That's an interesting site you found. 👍 Good information on the track. Also great to see the Minis whizzing around it.
But if you're thinking about Brands and endurance, go for the longer GP layout. It'll give them chance to stretch their "legs".
Nice yellow. It's a Mini banana!

While I think of it, I would like to get some input from everyone regarding possibly having an endurance race in the future, with our awesome Minis!
So think about some of the parameters you would like:
1. The track.
2. Duration.
3. Pit strategy.
4. Time change and/or weather.
And anything else you can think of that is important for a good event.
I'll start...
1. I'm definitely a fan of Nordschleife, so my pick would be that. I prefer less laps on a longer track than tons of laps on a shorter one. 👍
2. I have found for myself personally that anything over an hour is too much for me in one stretch, so I would prefer it 1 hour or less, or even 2 smaller runs of 30 mins each.
3. I would like at least 1 mandatory pit, but no compound change since we all have been tuning our Minis for Sports Soft and really getting a feel for how our individual cars handle.
4. It would be kind of cool to run an event that starts out in daylight and maybe ends in dusk. I have mixed feelings about night driving with this car, since I always use the exterior view (so I can look at my Mini at all times! lol) and I find on a dark track (like Nord) its hard to see from anything but interior view (which of course sucks since its not a Premium Car, and for those of us in Canada its also not LHD).

Brands hatch is an awesome choice for the minis. The 80's lay out is great more history for us Die hards. What do you guys think of running a racers clinic for new drivers to the minis help with tunes driving lines passing protocols what is a safe pass what is a drive bomb. Like I'm one to talk on dive bombs... Lol! This is a great group of drivers we have and we all could learn a lot from each other.I was doing some testing on Brands GP 80's, then Smiley showed up.
We ran a full 30 minute race, and it feels like the right amount of time. It ended up being 17 laps, only used a little over 1/4 tank of fuel.
With time progression set to 30, it runs from 06:00 to 20:00 (doesn't go longer, that's the scale for that track).
Played with the weather settings but once it started to rain near the end, at about 50% water on the track the Mini was uncontrollable on Sports Softs. I then realized that there are no rain tires for the Sports Tire group, only Racing Tires have them.
I don't want to change the specs of our races, so we will do without the weather. Besides, the wipers don't work on these cars anyways.(Kind of mimics real life)
I was thinking you should change your handle to "Divebomber".Brands hatch is an awesome choice for the minis. The 80's lay out is great more history for us Die hards. Hope to see everyone this week.
In watching the replays, "IfAndOr" stood out for me as being a stellar racer. If anyone could give a clinic on being a "Gentleman Driver" he gets my vote. 👍Brands hatch is an awesome choice for the minis. The 80's lay out is great more history for us Die hards. I do like to give other drivers room, braking early, going wide etc. I'm probably over cautious which results in me not being as competitive has I could be. But I'm having fun and if I haven't spoiled the race for anyone else I count that as a bonus.
My advice - Treat other drivers how you would like to be treated yourself.
JockeP I have to say hands down that is one of the most heart felt statements I have heard I a long while. As a racing marshal in my real life, I have to agree with you 100% we must live by the golden rule... That being said, in the heat of the moment we all get a little over zealous.I would say I'm in the same boat as you. Or a very similar looking boat that's drifting along next to yours, at least.
My driving style tends to be two fold, on the one hand when I drive alone on the track (e.g. testing & qualifying) I am normally brim full of confidence and rarely make mistakes. Equally, when the race is on and I hunt somebody down I feel confident as well. I love performing clean overtaking maneuvers. Wheel to wheel stuff when respect between the drivers exist is one of the greatest things.
But on the other hand when that overtaking maneuver is done and over with and I am in front (not necessarily in the lead, mind) that's when my confidence slides down the scale a bit. I get concerned about what would happen if the driver behind misjudges my intentions and/or braking points, how the drivers behind perceive my racecraft and so forth.
I guess I think too much when I'm out front, and therefore mistakes sometimes creep up.
I remember just last month I threw away two wins that was there for the taking. I hadn't made any mistakes and found myself in the lead during the final laps with two drivers breathing down my neck. On both occasions I cracked under pressure and went off into the gravel traps.
But I haven't really raced much online in my gaming experiences thus far, barely two months in all.
So I'll improve... hopefully : )
As IfAndOr mentioned and which I fully agree with, the golden rule is a good thing to apply.
I know I won't win easily, so instead I get great satisfaction in finishing a race in fifth spot knowing I gave it absolutely everything I had while also having maintained good manners on the track and showing my fellow competitors that I can be trusted with.
One line I read long ago about Ricardo Zonta stuck in my mind, this F1 reporter wrote a piece on Zonta and his pros and cons as a driver. This was around 1999-2000.
The sentence was; "Ricardo Zonta is the Prince of the empty circuits", meaning he was a terrific tester/developer and qualifier. But when it came to racing in packs he was found wanting.
I sometimes draw parallells to myself with that one sentence.
Oh my, I guess I should stop typing pretty soon...
