PS: Are wings and matte, chromed & polarized finishes allowed in Mini Coopers?

I don't think the option is there to add any aero on that car, but it would be no anyway. Like Sick says, we wouldn't want to spoil the look of our cars. :)

Exactly what it says. That car is not meant to have a wing.

I'm sure you can add custom wings; yes they look ridiculous and would be of little value I expect.

My Mini is matte black (Nero Nemesis). IMO Chrome paint on any car looks rubbish :ill:, but polarized can be good.

Very good video, MannYhAvitZ.
I was watching the onboard at Schwedenkreuz I think, and those 100mph the Mini was travelling at the time seemed much, much faster. I will have to practice with this beast before I possibly join up the coming Wednesday.

I usually hit 130 just before the little hump, let off a tad on the throttle and then floor it again to go around the turn, and I have huge grin on my face every time! :D

These are phone pics, the second is the smallest custom wing I could make...:dopey:

If there was a dislike button I would have pressed it! Wings on road cars are normally hideous things - the optional wing on the Lamborghini Countach for instance created so much drag it cut 20mph off the top speed - I'm pretty sure it was only ordered by professional footballers and others with more money than taste!

There was a Mini modification that was much more tasteful and speed enhancing and I have wittered on about it to Fergus - The Twini Mini. One was featured recently in the Chasing Classic Cars show presented by Wayne Carini.

This link gives lots of information on the Twini:

You should normally be able take it flat out on your own, but surrounded by 5 or 6 other flying Mini's you are going to struggle to get the line: a bit more caution is needed to avoid clipping the curb or grass or another car, as that can really upset your race .

The great thing about this Mini spec that they quite fast but user-friendly, especially with the SS tyres, so you don't have to concentrate on handling the car so much and you can have fun.

 Definitely on PDs standard cars, although the custom aero for premiums can look OK; I quite like the small roof spoiler on the Premium Fiat 500 for example.
I'd like to see a de-seaming option in GT Auto, really cut down on that drag 💡

I don't recall seeing that twin engine car before; I bet it was pretty wild! Another great motoring nugget from @Sick Cylinder 👍.

If we could still gift cars, I would most certainly oblige (on the condition that you raced in it).
I'm thinking about it now! Watch this space. You'll have to attend next week now to see if I do. :)

If,
There is a thread in the photo forums called "British Engineering", I've posted a couple of Mini shots in there and those guys live them. You should drop some of your work in there. :)

I post quite a few pictures in the GT6 photo thread - there's a couple or so in the one you mentioned. Though I've now added some Mini shots.
I might start a gallery sometime, although there's more work in keeping that updated.

Some of my most recent in the "untouched" thread.

And a couple showing the action from Sick Cylinders recent series 1 & 2 . There's lot's on that thread. It seems I'm his official photographer. :P

I'm just surprised there hasn't been a Mini Championship before this. Or has it?

PureGT_GOOFY, since you participated last time and seeing as we both reside in the same time zone,
can you confirm that this event starts at 11:00PM?
thanks

I searched google and the forums before I started online racing, and didn't find much mention of this particular car. I was hoping someone was into them so I could join.

As the saying goes "If you build it, they will come", so I started my own. :)

What if GT6 allowed body mods similar to my 67 Mini? Fortech flared fenders, airdam, and rear roof mini wing. Similar kits for lots of cars would be nice. My rear "wing" looks a lot like my wife's 98 Honda Civic hatchback. It just flows from the roofline and doesn't stick up at all.

Check out the size difference between old and new Minis in the Corkscrew. And see who's ahead.
