CLASSIC RACING - Sundays 17:00-19:00 BST - CONGRATULATIONS CHAMPIONS Flaco & Lex LathorFinished

So with this new feature available I´d like to reserve the number 13 for all my cars on which the decals can be placed.

View attachment 192065

You beat me to it Flaco! Yes - Flaco is now number 13 and I am number 58.

Information for all drivers on Update 1.10

Warning - the new 1.10 update is large and took a long time to download onto my PS3.

Race Numbers
Premium cars can now be given racing numbers - please use background A (the plain white circle) as it is larger and looks more classic than the other styles. I think the number looks better (clearer) in font A. If your car can be given a number please display one during our races as it helps with identification and looks much better.

The following cars from our current race series can be given a number:

1. World Classics - Mercedes 300 SL, BMW 507, Corvette C2, Toyota 2000 GT, Ferrari 250 GT, Shelby GT350

2. Cobra Ferrari Wars - Shelby Cobra, Ferrari 250 GT, Corvette C2

The TVR V8S cannot be given a number and the Senna Lotus 97T cannot have its number 12 changed.

Regarding our next racing series, which starts with a test day on September 7th, sadly none of the three Historic BSCC cars can have a racing number fitted - even including the premium Renault 8 Gordini.

With the "Ford Ferrari Wars" (Historic Le Mans Sports Cars), a race number can be fitted to the Jaguar XJ13. The Ford MK4, Ferrari 330 P4 and Chaparral 2D already have numbers fitted and these cannot be changed. The Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe has a blank white roundel, but sadly no number can be fitted.

The Art Morrison Corvette is premium, but cannot be fitted with a number. The Shelby Cobra can be fitted with a number - refer to the picture by Flaco above. The Corvette C2 race car already has a number, but the 614 cannot be changed.

A race number cannot be fitted to the Caterham Fireblade.

Racing Brake Calipers - Painting
Racing brake calipers can now be painted. Please remember that these are classic cars and if you paint your calipers be careful to select appropriate colours e.g. black, red, yellow or copper are the most common colours for calipers. If in doubt black or red.

Thank you PD for the racing numbers - Please, please can we have numbers on the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe in time for our race series, also race numbers on the Renault 8 Gordini and changeable numbers on all premium cars including those which already have a number such as the Ford MK4 and Ferrari 330 P4!

Now that is the first post I've ever read that I could say I wish I could like more than once. NUMBERS!!!! I LOVE NUMBERS!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I can't put numbers in GTO because it is an standard car... And not even in a Corvette Race Car and neither the V8S & 97T :( This feature should be also for standard cars...

Numbers, sound pretty neat. Number 67 is my choice.
That's cool, in Trans Am and Cobra Coupe Shootout, I'll reserve myself the number 96... But if I'm the champion of Trans Am, I'm obviously using the number #1...

Sick, in my opinion Excedrin works best for headaches. Just saying.
They're probably from - :banghead:

I've not turned a wheel in GT6 since last Sunday. In fact the PS3 has hardly been on - so sorry, no photos this week (as yet).

I'm not sure if I'm going to make it for this weekend. It's late on Friday night and I've only got one of this weeks cars!
If the temperature drops a little my enthusiasm may return. We'll see.

EDIT: Here's a few very quick shots I took after it had cooled down a bit last night.

Gents, once again I miss a race. Sunday morning for my mothers 68th birthday we are heading out to the desert to shoot her new Winchester lever action. I'm not kidding. Have a great race everybody.

Round 19 Red Bull Ring Race Report

First - a big thank you to PD for adding the option to display racing numbers on most of the premium cars (standard cars next if possible please!) this makes a big difference to making the races look more like races instead of track days. So this week a few photos to highlight the new numbers - anyone who forgot please add numbers for next week.

World Classic Cars
1st - kisko - Shelby GT350
2nd - Lex Lathor - Corvette C2
3rd - IfAndOr - Pontiac GTO
4th - Flaco - BMW 507

Classic Kisko GT350 Grid.jpg

Above the very beautiful race winning Kisko Shelby GT350 flanked by the 4th place Flaco BMW 507. Below the second placed Lex Lathor Corvette C2 flanked by the 3rd place IfAndOr Pontiac GTO (sadly no race numbers for the standard cars).

Above Maximusmonster BMW 507 at speed. Below World Classics corner together.

Cobra Ferrari Wars
1st - Flaco - Cobra
2nd - Kisko - Cobra
3rd - Maximusmonster - Cobra
4th - Emotional Rekz - Ferrari 250 GTO

A clean sweep for the Shelby Cobra's and a fine podium for Maximusmonster

One Make Series: TVR V8S (run in tribute to the Ford 289 V8 powered 1964 TVR Griffith 200 and 400 Series Cars)

1st - Flaco
2nd - Kisko
3rd - Emotional Rekz
4th - Lex Lathor

These cars are a delight to drive. I used a full engine tune, stage 3 lightness, LSD 10/25/15, Brakes 7/4 and Race Soft suspension with Race Hard tyres - as close as we could get to the classic 1964 Griffith.

TVR Start.jpg

Senna Tribute: Lotus 97T (Untuned and power limited to 800bhp)

1st - Emotional Rekz
2nd - Flaco
3rd - Lex Lathor
4th - Kisko

Our first week of six with the 97T - what a great sound and great fun to drive! Emotional Rekz drove a great race and if you watch the replay you can see that he had the braking spot on to ensure good corner speed and maintained boost better than other drivers.

@Sick Cylinder, I just want to say what a great job you and the drivers are doing with these races - they look great fun, and I look forward to checking out the pics and write-ups every week (with a little jealousy  as I don't have the time to play so much).

You are clearly the dedicated enthusiast 👍.

Thanks Woodski - that's very kind of you. Maybe you can join us on track one day soon - some of us don't play GT6 very much, but we are all car/racing enthusiasts!

PS is that a Triumph 2.5 engine with triple Webers in your avatar?

I could never make your Sunday slot (family life etc), but if you do any spot races, testing or practise in the weekday evenings I could keep a look out.

Good spot. It's actually a GT6 MkIII ('74) 2.0 litre and the Webers are DCOE40s. Sadly I don't own the car any more, but is was a beauty - 'fast road' spec, sport springs, Koni's, 5.5J MiniLites with Yokohamas, painted Valencia Blue with Cream leather interior, and Walnut dash etc. Somebody had spent a lot of money restoring it!

The chap I bought it off had the carbs balanced on a dyno with medium needles, and it showed 130BHP (at the wheels). It was the noise though , and it would pop and crackle on the overrun - it would make people turn round .

That Standard/Triumph six was (is) a great engine though, lovely torque delivery, and very smooth (if untuned!). Sadly omitted from Gran Turismo all these years of course :(.

I don't want to spam your thread with pics, but I've added a couple as attachments if you want to have a look...

See, he's a walking car encyclopedia.

It's a lovely car. Very nice condition. Bet you wish you still had it.

I'm getting my pictures in a little earlier this week.

Kisko in his lovely colour coded Mustang.

Lex's hard to miss Corvette.
Red Bull Ring_6.jpg

Flaco in his BMW 507. Trying to keep up with that pesky 350GT.
Red Bull Ring_3.jpg

Max cruising through the Austrian scenery.
Red Bull Ring_13.jpg

Emo on the charge. (The C1 is not to bad for a standard car model)
Red Bull Ring_10.jpg

And now the contenders for the drifting competition...

And finally. My GTO takes some getting past - look at the size of the thing!

Send me an FR and I will make sure to invite you when we are testing / practising.

Thanks. I'll send FR when I get on next. I'm doing a big renovation project on my house right now, which I expect will take me two or three more months, so please don't take me not showing up for a while as a lack of interest .

If do I get an occasional night off, what would be good cars to get prepared?

Yes and no. The reality of owning a classic is always different from the dream :dopey: .

Great pics again 👍

Starting September 7th we have Historic BSCC (Classic Mini v Renault 8 Gordini v Buick Special), Ford Ferrari Wars (1960's Le Mans Sports Cars - untuned) and Caterham Cup (Caterham Fireblade - max tune).

This racing series looks awesome! I wish I could commit (not to mention I am not sure you even have space left) but I am never sure if I will be around Sundays. Plus, being a bit of an NFL nut, once the season starts in September I am quite preoccupied. Do you ever race other nights? Even if it is just casual?

We always seem to have spaces Benny so you could race on a whenever you are available basis. You wouldn't need to attend a whole meeting either - some people don't have time.

Hi Sick Cylinder,
I really like the sound of this race series and reading the posts you all seem like a friendly bunch. However, I'm new to online racing and afraid that I'll be too slow.
I use automatic gears and usually have the racing line on to help me spot my braking points. On most TT seasonals I can get a silver but only occasionally get a gold.
Do you have space on your grid for a slow moving obstacle?
Do you ever meet for practice laps so that I can see if I'm close. I have no problem with not winning, but I'd like to race knowing that I have a chance of not being last.

Benny, I think racing would commence at about (5:00am your time -sorry, wrong math-), NFL players are all asleep then. You could race with one eye on the game perhaps?

Tony, take the plunge into the manual gears, they just improve the whole experience.
Personally, I see myself as a slow moving obstacle most of the time. You would do great.

I am practicing with manual gears but I'm still much slower and drift off line too much. I'll be more in control if I stick with Automatic for now.
