CLASSIC RACING Sundays 17:00-19:00 GMT: "Ford Ferrari Wars" LEX CHAMP by 1 Point!Finished

Will Flaco use the number #1 in his Cobra as he was the champion of CFW?

That's up to Flaco - he might be like Valentino Rossi where the marketing value of his race number is so high that he opts to keep it rather than take the bonus available from the team for switching to the number 1!

By the way congratulations to Lex Lathor on 3 wins out of 3 races, congratulations to Flaco for winning Category 2 and also to Valentino Rossi for his first win in 15 months and commiserations to Marc Marquez.

For those of you wanting more racing - veteran host Furinkazen has 3 vacant slots in a race he is holding on Sunday 21st. The race starts at 8.10pm UK time so there is time to do our races first. Furinkazens meeting contains some of the finest GT6 Historic Sports Car Racers in the world and therefore it will be most suited to regular podium men such as Lex Lathor, Flaco, Pimiki and Smiley etc.

Regular and Reserve Drivers have been Reviewed

Car & Driver Poster 170914.jpg

Harsk has stepped down to Reserve Driver due to ongoing PS3 problems, Kisko due to non-attendance at recent meetings. Danielsspel and Sustagrd have stepped up to Regular Driver. John Wells has joined as a Reserve Driver.

Please can I have Race Numbers from: UKmalB, EdenKnight, S Bridge/M Mallet JR and John Wells.

Racers are reminded that Regular Drivers should let me know about any planned absences so that their grid slot can be offered to Reserve Drivers on a first come first served basis.

Absences for Sunday are expected to include EmotionalRekz and therefore there is one Reserve Driver slot available for the races on Sunday 21st September at 17:00 BST. This will go to the first Reserve Driver to contact me.

Updated by edit - John Wells was first to contact and will therefore be racing on Sunday.

I've been looking at the British Touring Car Championship and they have something called the Jack Sears Trophy. They award it at the end of the season for the person who makes up the most places over the season.
Its only a minor prize and I thought that it might be fun to work out in this championship as we are using a replica of Jack Sear's Ford Galaxie.

I normally note the qualifying and results of each of our races anyway so it's a simple process to work out.

Here's how it would stand so far. Let me know if you want me to keep it up to date.

I haven't included the Caterham yet as we didn't qualify so I'll need to check the reply later to know who gained the most places.

That's an great idea.

Good idea Tony, but I think it's best just to do it for BSCC - it's a shame we don't have the ability to gift cars or paints or suits / helmets like we did in GT5 as it would be nice if we could have prizes. Maybe that will come back with the long promised community features.

Car of the week - Lola Aston Martin 1967

I've decided to introduce a new feature - before each weeks race I will highlight a car suggestion, feature suggestion and track suggestion which if added to the game would enhance our racing series - so please vote by clicking on the link and liking the suggestion. First the fabulous Lola Aston Martin which competed (unsuccessfully) at le Mans in 1967. It served as a racing testbed for the new Tadek Marek designed 4 cam AM V8 engine, which went on to be a great success for Aston Martin being fitted in approximately 5,000 of their road cars before being superseded in the year 2000.

Track suggestion - Circuit de Ledenon - a superb track - just check out the onboard video clips in the post by Dr P Grunfelde:

Driving Etiquette
Because of the difference in performance of the cars we are currently racing, more overtaking than normal is likely to happen. Racers are requested to allow reasonable space when overtaking and not cut in front after completing the pass as this can cause the passed driver to crash. Please bear in mind that even with a good connection some lag related sideways movement of your car is likely.

Good Luck to all this Sunday at Silverstone International - this track layout has great historic significance - the current, very long, F1 track is a recent layout. Luigi Villoresi won the first big race at Silverstone in October 1948 in his Maserati in front of a 100,000 strong crowd.

At the moment we have a full grid - I am expecting Emotional Rekz to be absent and his place has been taken this week by John Wells. If any other Regular Driver is expecting to be absent please let me know as soon as possible so that your slot can be offered to the other Reserve Drivers on a first come first served basis.

Sadly the sound bug introduced by update 1.12 plus other bugs which prevented people leaving the pits turned today's races into a Fiasco - hopefully PD will issue some urgent fixes for these problems. No championship points will be issued for this weeks races.
That's a shame... The bugs are very worst in GT6 than GT5... So, no points attributed? Race has been stopped?

Main race was the biggest problem.

Have pole position and started 10th ???
Sorry phone photo quality - quali results

Pushed off track 5 times... sadly my replay works until lap 4, then frozen

Stuck in pit when changing tires

Manage to extract only two photos and was no bugs or lag.

And we posted comments about Cat.1 and Cat.2 cars passing and carefull driving.

Sorry but not a valid main race.

Not fair at all. Lex stuck in pit first then few others too including myself.

Sick

Thanks for trying to organise the championship under difficult circumstances.

I had a great time in the BSCC fighting with rehdogg behind you. Shame I couldn't get back in the room again but I wouldn't have been able to see more than half the field!!:odd:
Probably explains why everyone was bumping into one another.

Hope PD sorts things out soon.

I was pretty lucky this time I guess, because in the first and third races everything worked just fine for me and sound was always there. Though, I could only see 5 people including me in the second one . And yeah Sutsagrd, it was pretty fun and very close. Hopefully they fix this issue sometime soon. Also, thanks for doing your best to deal with the issue Sick.

Anyway, since this didn't count, will we redo it or will this round be void?

This round is void - we won't redo it, but it is a track we will use with other championships.

Any contact between cars will almost certainly be due to people not seeing other cars on the track - I think that is definitely the case with Smiley as he wasn't even on the track according to my PS3!

Good races today, thanks for letting me join:)

Though the problems, experienced are a big issue:nervous: Not seeing everyone on track, people stuck in pits. I also had a sound problem, so I pulled out of the last race.

Good races today, thanks for letting me join:)
Good to see you John. And you were actually one of the drivers I could see.

First race - 16 in room but 4 were strobing on the lobby screen so I knew I wouldn't see them on track. I thought I'd live with that. Qualifying starts and the sound disappears! Ok if I'd been in auto, but I wasn't.
Left room to reboot my router and sort out my "new" PS3 network settings.

Second race - Rejoined in time. A full room and there were no names strobing in the lobby and I thought, yeah I've fixed it. Entered the track, 16 in the room, there were only 6 visible on track - and one of them was me!! Gave up at that point - wasn't much point in racing. Left for a reset. :grumpy:

Third race - Couldn't get back in. I saw that as a sign to give up.

The good thing was since I didn't race, I never got stuck in the pits. :sly:

Adding the quick race feature and adjusting the sound levels doesn't seem to have helped the normal online lobbies.👎
Although the Force Feedback feels better - for the short while I used it.

What a day!

The previous night was my stepdaughter's 20th birthday party, and my other stepdaughter tells me I began snoring mid-sentence on the couch at 2:30 am. My wife found me there, still snoring, at 8:55 am next to half a glass of wine, and reminded me I had a race at 9:00! Ugh. I could not have legally driven a real car.

The first two races, my qualifiers were better than my position on the grid. I had intermittent sounds, and I was knocked out of both races in the first turn. Not pretty.

I think I got booted from the room in the second race. I went to the garage and discovered my Caterham from the previous week was set to only 600 pp (which explains why I couldn't keep up at Daytona), but I was unable to find the room.

So, I finished that glass of wine.

I expect Sick would have liked a crate of it after Sunday. ;)

I think I had a Diet Coke with Sunday dinner instead of my usual water!

Historic BSCC Team Points
After one round Team Sears (currently driving the Buick Special in place of "Gentleman" Jacks 7 litre Ford Galaxie) is in first place with 61 points. Team Whitmore (currently driving Sir John Whitmore's Mini) is in second place with 44 points and Team McGovern (currently driving the Renault 8 Gordini in place of Bill McGovern's Hillman / Sunbeam Imp) is in third place with 29 points. Below Jack Sears - BSCC champion 1958 (Austin Westminster) and 1963 (Ford Galaxie). The middle picture shows his legendary Cobra battle with F1 driver Chris Amon at Brands Hatch.

I have updated the car list to hopefully make it clearer when we change cars. Please note, if people are having difficulty with the Corvette C2 Race Car they can change it for a Chromeline Cobra.

We had many problems with sound and invisible cars - it is the first time that as a host I have been unable to see the cars - they appear in the list, but not on track!

If you have no sound or cannot see the cars, leave and re-enter the room. This is normally open from about 16:30 and it is helpful if you arrive a few minutes early. I will indicate via on screen message how many people are in the room. Please go to track as soon as possible and stay on track. If there are people in the room, but not on track (as happened at the last round) I will post a message then open another room. I am hoping that PD can fix these problems with sound and invisible cars as soon as possible.

Emotional Rekz will be absent from the next meeting therefore we have one vacant slot on the grid, which will go to the first Reserve Driver to respond.

Great photos Tony!

We still have one vacant space for a Reserve Driver for Sunday - so if you want the slot let me know as soon as you can.

PD is now aware of the sound problem that we had last week:

"Gran Turismo
Thursday at 11:37 ·
Hi GT Fans! We want everyone to know we are aware that some players might be experiencing intermittent sound issues during online races, and are working quickly to resolve it."

There has been a suggestion that the part of the update which introduced the sound bug is related to additional gauges so the advice is to disable any additional gauges that you have.

If you have no sound my advice is to try re-entering the room. If you cannot get sound either try racing with the car on automatic or abandon the race and return next Sunday.

If we have a problem this week I will make Traction Control optional from next week until the sound bug is fixed. Let me know if you want other driving aids available until PD fix this problem. Hopefully they will do so quickly so that normal racing can resume.

Can I have active steering and SRF turned on? Oh and racing softs please. :D

Seriously though, the invisible cars are also a big problem. It used to be that driver A & B couldn't see each other (although others could see born) and the game merged them when contact was made. But now there's a big chance that A can't see B, but B can see A! And if A hits B (although he's completely unaware that there is a car there) it will cause B to have a accident! It can cause all kinds of problems.

I used to be able to tell on the lobby screen that if the drivers name was strobing/loading I wasn't going to see them on track. But even this is not the case now.

Perhaps we should line up on the starting grid pre-race just to establish who can see who.

Sick

Just like to add that I too have finally acquired my Ferrari 330 P4.
So I have all 3 cars for Cat 1. Unfortunately I have no pics.

I'm ready for Sunday. ;)

If's idea is good to check we can all see each other. Hopefully I'll be there for all the races this time.
