I am just wondering why the chromline vehicle isn't allowed. Is it just because it has a stripe or is there something else to it? IMO they are the same car.

Maybe because the chrome lines make the car more shiny and give an advantage over the other pics?
I don't know....

But there isn't any other difference between those two versions (I think).
In the end, its the judge who decides if allowed or not.....

I think because it's a Certain Car Certain Location comp. You have to have the certain car.

I guess it could give an unfair advantage because not everyone has a chromeline 300 SL and in the end at the poll people could vote for a particular photo because of the stripes.

My thoughts exactly. Also due to the technicality that they are two different cars in the game (even if they are the same car, paradox! )

Sorry but because of the new rule that was put in place this is not legitimate entry. There is only generic blur on the background, you could produce this in almost all of the tracks. It does not matter what external evidence you could present, the proof has to be in the photo itself. At least in CCShaft7's entry there was the clouds and the stars visible so it could be passed but this is not enough (and will not be in future). And I find it hard to believe that since it was you who started the discussion with your (legitimate) entry a couple of weeks ago you would go for another photo like this.

Because there isn't much background in mine too. And no clouds, stars, etc...

There is two areas in the shot, that prove it was shot on the right location.

The first area is the bumper reflection, while the second is the tree. Because as far as I am aware, you can only get that close to the tree.

Compared to the other tracks, which stop you getting under half of a tree.


My final thoughts - New Rule:

It allows external proof, because I am not going to the mod the game. And for one good reason, that would get me a ban.

Along with that, any shot uploaded to your profile will display the track name.

I can clearly see that TVR&Ferrari_Fan's shot has been taken at Toscana. When looking at the bumper you can see the sky obviously. Don't see why that great entry shouldn't be allowed.

Personally I do not think the reflection is clear enough but since others disagree I'm going to chance policy from now on. I'm not going to query the photos myself anymore. If anyone else thinks a shot might not be legitimate send a PM to me. In that case I'll investigate it further. If no PM is sent then the judge is free to consider all photos for the poll. This is a difficult rule to enforce, I'm not going to be the bad guy for doing that. I'll let you all be that. Also if anyone has suggestions to the wording of the rule just let me know.

As for this poll all entries so far are legit. And to bmxmitch, I wasn't going to query your shot, it always seemed ok.

I'll definitely play LTW challenge tonight just to earn some cash for SL and to try to contribute here for this week comp. Even there are some fantastic shots till now, the theme is perfect and I like it alot so I'll definitely try to do something until Sunday Keep comin' great work.

I hope everyone understands I was after a clarification of just where we draw the line. I think your image is great but then I began to think well maybe I will put the Mercedes emblem in the border. Then someone else will want to do something else and soon we have no rules or guidelines.
