If we are supposed to use the 'right' colours, why are we using the 'wrong' model in the first place?

Why not use the Mark IV?

Maybe because of the prize of the car: 20,00,000 cr ?
I don't think that a lot people can participate in the competition...

I could have shared my Mark IV if people wanted it. Besides others could do the same. I don't understand bringing up the topic of the right colour if its not in the rules. And (no disrespect to anyone) by acting smug about it by saying if "people had bothered to look at the dealership names".

C'mon, some humility bro ...

Thanks Jason.

If people would just take a minute to look at the colour names in the dealership the choice would be all too obvious.

Using a certain colour isn't a requirement of the theme so I doubt anyone will even notice the colour name when it comes to the vote.....

You are correct. My comment was just that the original winning car was red so a tribute would be fitting in red.

Just a note: when you paint a GT red the stripes turn black. It's a good thing I checked before using a 20mil color of red lol.

Sorry, I'm a bit of an OCD history buff.

Game time!
First person to PM the 4 correct #/Color combo's of the 1967 Ford Mark IV LeMans lineup gets a prize car.

A nice bit of history / tradition was made that day:
On the victory stand, Gurney shook the bottle and sprayed everyone nearby, establishing a tradition reenacted in victory celebrations the world over ever since.

Maman, regardez cette voiture derrière nous!!

If I'm breaking any rules, let me know.

Sorry this is not allowed. While it's hard to say which rule this is against the spirit of the rules is that you can't turn your photo into something that it originally was not. Like a painting.

Wonderful entries everyone ! Sorry i've been so quiet lately, it's mainly all this Portal 2 Stuff that's been keeping me away from photomode.

Sorry guys, my bad. I did not mean to come across the way I did. I went to the dealership and saw the colours, looked at the theme and there was only one choice for me. The bugger of it all is that I used sepia toning and the Mark IV red doesn't do much if anything in the shot. And just to be clear, my intention was not to say that other colour choices were wrong, just that Mark IV Red was very much in harmony with the theme. Sorry for the poor choice of words and a smug tone, I had not meant to condescend.

After seeing everyone else's entries, I decided to go all out on this one. Let me know what you think! ;)

What you may not to do a photo:
  • Alter the geometry of the car. No stickers, or body modifications not available in game.
  • Add shapes or objects from outside of GT5, signatures excepted.
  • Remove items from shot (scenery, other cars).
  • Use more than 1 image (HDR, photo-stitching, multi-exposure).

There is absolutely no HDR involved here. And no, I wasn't going for a painting effect. I was going for a look-behind-us-at-that-car in the rain effect.

I don't mind changing the entry but I need to know if this will be disqualified for a concrete reason.

I would tend to side with Jedi here. It does not violate any specific, previously laid out rule that I see and I don't feel it goes against the spirit of the competition either. Obviously those that make the rules make the rules but my two cents says this one is OK. 👍

I understand your point. It's just a bit difficult to ban every individual filter you don't want to be used simply because there are so many of them, and they are not the same in every software. In GT4 comps the rules used to be written with Photoshop in mind and I don't think that's right. I'll talk about this with other comp hosts, it would be better to have a common policy.
