BREAKING NEWS: @Cole Brown and his team Brown Racing have withdrawn from the series after apparently having a hissy fit over losing drivers out of lack of leadership on his part. With that, everyone moves up a position, which will be posted after Bump Qualifying officially ends tonight. Hardy and I will review whether or not to ban the team and team principal from any further entries.

Swift Autosport Announcement

032.jpg

We here at Swift Autosport would like to start by thanking you for coming.

There has been a big decision made in the last 6 hours. Hence why you're all here. So lets get the meeting started.

The Opportunity

Swift Autosport was given a golden opportunity to have a support team with the help of USA Motorsports. Swift Autosport president had this to say.
"At first when the USA Motorsports team president approached me with the idea to make it possible for Swift Autosport to have a support team I thought my team can barely afford a chassis right now. Then the USA Motorsports president told me money wouldn't be an issue if I agreed to the support team."

Negotiations

After everything was all done being talked about negotiations began.

Smith started with an offer of Alan paying for 10 fresh Lotus chassis, 20 engines,& 50 miscilanious parts. Alan must also relinquish all Honda chassis, engines,& parts.

Alan later came back with the counteroffer of 3 Fresh chassis, 6 engines,& 10 parts. He also gets to keep all of the Honda equipment.

After going back,& forth for a few hours everything was settled. The deal was 7 Lotus chassis, 5 engines,& 100 parts. Also Swift Autosport would own a quarter of USA Motorsports.

Decision Time

Now that the negotiations were finished it came time for Smith,& Alan to make their final decision on if they wanna go through with it or not.

Finally after an hour of thinking about everything to decide it would be beneficial for both teams. So it was then that both of the presidents signed on the dotted line.

Indy Testing

Both Smith,& Alan were spotted yesterday taking advantage of the private testing time they had. Here are a few pictures we got of them during the test.

So, with regards to the Brickyard 200 the night before:

Do I have to specify a car now?
Am I restricted just to 2013 models or can I use 2010/2011 models too?

No restrictions, just no tuning

I still dont get that. So you're running NASCAR on the default setup at Indy? Isnt the default setup crap for a track like Indy? If say you had one GOOD Indy Oval setup that you provided for all entries, and made it an IROC race, Id come for that. But driving a stock car at Indy on a bad setup doesnt appeal to me.

There's no way to enforce the mandated setup, people would just use their own and gain advantages through that. If you don't like non-tune, then don't race. I'm not.

As was a key point learned, merit system with drivers that Hardy or myself don't trust (essentially everyone) doesn't work. If you don't show up that's okay. There's a few I'd rather not have show up as it is because I've already seen them in NASCARs.

GT6 should really have an IROC mode, let the host chose the setup and lock it in for all drivers, so people dont cheat.

As we get close to starting the 2015 IRG Turtle Beach IndyCar Series season, Hardy wants me to point out a few calendar points:
->Following the 2015 season, the road course races at Indianapolis and Daytona will be discontinued until sufficient updates by PDI have occurred. The general feeling is that the "rovals" are not accurate, which makes the racing feel outdated.
->The Daytona 500 Mile Race will be completely revamped for 2015, becoming Twin 250 kilometer races. The event will follow normal qualifying procedure to determine the 15 drivers, then the first race will determine an inverted field for race 2. Race 1 will follow Indy qualifying points, while Race 2 will follow regular points.
->The exhibition at Trial Mountain, despite not being for Driver points, will be for Teams and Engine points.
->2016 is planned to be last PS3 season of IndyCar before switching to PS4. Depending on GT7 release date, Hardy has composed two separate schedules; a short 15 race calendar, and a full 20 race calendar.

Also of note:
->Tonight, I get to reveal the second Hall of Immortality member. Only a handful of IRG ICS legends are currently eligible

I think I know who it's going to be. It's someone here.

Can't be. Eligible drivers must not be currently racing.

Without further delay, I announce the 2014 Hall of Immortality inductee, Elise Alexander.
Name: Alexander, Elise Michaela
PSN IDs: PsychoPerra1192
ICS Accomplishments: 2011 Indianapolis 500 Champion, 2013 IRG IndyCar Series Champion, current All Time Winningest Driver, current record holder for most podiums in a career, only person to have completed every race entered (51), record for most points scored in a single season.
Racing Career: 2010-2013
Team Affiliations: Diablo Pantera Racing (2010-2013)
Biography: Perhaps the greatest statistical driver of the series to date, Elise Alexander was quick from the get go. She is one of just five drivers to have earned a win in each year of competition. On track, nothing stood out more than her pink #11 IndyCar. She was flamboyant, and very determined. Her IndyCar career started off quiet, just one win and one pole position in 2010. Quickly developing her knack for aggressive driving, in 2011 she finished no lower than 6th while starting no higher than 8th outside of one pole position at Nurburgring, the place she never lost at. In 2012, perhaps the best championship battle ever occurred between her and Cristine Espinoza, in which one of them at least were always on the podium. In the penultimate round of 2012, chasing down Espinoza, a slowed car veered into her path and her championship hopes. While Espinoza finished 2nd, Elise finished a devastating 11th. Returning in 2013, she rarely was off the podium, consistently and often taking wins and pole position, and at the end of the season was a clear two races ahead of second place. While the story of what happened before her passing in a road collision has been mixed, it was clear she was not intending on racing another season, instead trying to make her foray into endurance racing. Her four year tenure in IndyCar was as she drove, fast, exciting, on the limit, then finished, usually with her hands up in victory.

Why can't we have a team name that cool? @swiftsmith

Devil Panther... Awesome... :D 👍

I won't say a word. Everyone there has their experiences. A part of me wants to just stop racing completely. This is the kind of race that makes someone rethink what they've consumed their time into. I know optimism helps, and this race alone will help Hardy make a lot of thorough necessary changes, but I will join a lot of people in saying I don't know how much I want to keep doing that. I'll echo a suggestion I made to Hardy; change it to a more GP2 type series. Ditch the ovals, and life would be much better here. I love Indy with my heart. It is the race I will always say is the best. But with the people we have, it isn't possible. It won't ever be possible. And I apologize for that. I'm not the head honcho but I should have seen it coming. I'll let everyone know Hardy's thoughts when I get them, I know he will be furious.

I'll admit I wasn't perfect, the botched restart where I got loose into 1, yeah, I'll hold my hands up and say that was my fault. Also the incident where me and @redbullrider20 touched and we both had to make a green flag pit stop, that may have been my fault too (I didn't get the replay saved, my bad). There's nothing you could do about it though Angel, you can't control the field and the actions of people around you without dropping the Banhammer hard.

There were a lot of us who put serious time into getting the setup right, testing the car over long and short runs, running in drafts and what not. The last few laps where I was running with Blaney in the fight for 4th were probably the highlight of my race. We ran nose-to-tail and wheel-to-wheel for prolonged periods. There were a number of instances where the leaders were doing the same with no incidents. It's just, to echo your sentiments, how many people not even 25% of the way in to the race were annoyed? A fair few.

Again, there's nothing you could do though, and I'd agree on a Road Course centred championship for sure. Part of me just wonders if GT6 is the right platform for it, when you have F1 2014 or Grid Autosport out there too. It's not a decision I could make, but I feel, even for a separate series to this, that it may be worth considering.

I'd just like to apologise to anyone who I may have hindered during the race, especially on the restarts. I was doing my best, as we all were, but sometimes there's nothing you can do when the field bottleneck or when you have no room to go anywhere else. I'd also like to apologise for my language in parts as well, even though my mic may not have picked it all up (even if it did pick up my singing )

I would call for more strict and standards-oriented driving tests to weed out all of the Kamikazes and oblivious ones. I hate to be so irritated and I do apologize for being so frustrated and short with my microphone usage.

In my opinion, this race should be forgotten forever and discounted. The termination of the Safety Car procedure sealed the deal when I was once again screwed over. It wasn't an Indy 500, it was a crapshoot to see who could get screwed over the least and could slip through the cracks in Safety Car procedure.
