lol, no, we're stuck with that colour now... I guess that makes me Kamui Kobayashi. Better make sure I have the money from my sponsors for my seat...
Kamui or Chilton?

I thought you guys were cool...

I will never be a Chilton, I'd rather be Luca Badoer than a Chilton and that's saying something...
Or a d'Ambrosio?

Just got asked a very valid question from Hardy via e-mail regarding what I think about the IRG rule book for IndyCar. So for the sake of it, I'll answer aloud: I really don't give a damn about the rules. They set them, we race them. Simple as that. There are rules I definitely feel are unnecessary or confusing. As a driver, I'm going to feel that way, and so will everyone else. My job in this series isn't to play politics, it's to race and go for wins. My entire team is going for that. There will be people that argue for simplicity or whatever, either out of laziness or just sheer cockiness. With a series like this, things need to be complex. It's formula racing, not NASCAR or Touring Cars. The thoroughness of the rules is part of what has interested people. IRG has been willing to change rules and evolve with us and with the game. They're doing their job and doing their best for everyone. That's all I ask and outside of that, I refuse to seriously pay attention to the rest of the nonsense.

That doesn't really make any sense at all. You're a team owner. Automatically you're political. So what was the point of this?

I wanted to stress the separation between myself as a driver and the rest of IRG. The rules are of scrutiny recently. You've already made your comments on exactly what will be done when. Yet a lot of people come to me for input when it isn't needed. My point was that unless I become an official, which I've already turned down the offer twice, then I won't voice my inputs unless it's serious.

Okay, and Hardy asked you this why?

Because apparently during Bump Qualifying today, there was a discussion over things and it involved him, my team and others, and he wanted to know my opinions, and I sent him an e-mail that simply told him that I didn't care and if any driver cares to ever have a chance of winning, they need to concentrate on the right things, not try to mouse about stirring things up.

Okay...this seems to be more of a battle of who can be the most finicky, which doesn't interest me a whole lot. Can everyone please be rational?

Not sure where I was irrational or irrelevant...but okay...

To address the "concerns" over the rules, we definitely have had to deviate from some of them recently as things have gone a different way than what was anticipated. I believe I've said this before but I will repeat. This is the most complex field we've had since the beginning. Starting anew is never easy, and this is a testament to how much not just the roster, but the game itself has evolved in just a few short months. I've heard ramblings of "Oh, this isn't CORE" or "This isn't FGTA". If I'm to give an honest care about what we are, we are a bunch of open wheel enthusiasts that are hosting a championship celebrating the most competitive formula championship in the world. We've been in GT since 2010. If anyone does not like how we are set up, then you are perfectly entitled to walk out with your opinions. But only three people on the roster have any idea on what the past was like and each will say that it was an absolute blast. This is a growing pain season, don't expect it to be problem free. But don't dare expect everything we do to be perfect or chiseled. We are human, we have our beliefs, and we follow the rules based on our perception. We will review the rules and what needs altered after Indianapolis and after Trial Mountain. Do not expect us to change every little thing because 1 person whines.

Flexing a muscle? Don't hurt yourself there. Didn't know you could.

Everyone is going to have their own opinions and state their concerns and grievances. Every series I've ever raced in has had this at some point. It is my philosophy that the key to a successful series is retaining happy drivers. If you're drivers aren't happy, your organization will suffer. I, for one, state my concerns (which others have seconded on multiple occasions) so the organization can have driver's input on what's working well and what isn't. Now, I'm not saying that "IRG doesn't listen to their drivers" or "IRG is close-minded", I'm saying that if you address each complaint, compliment, concern, etc. with the drivers' best interest at mind, I feel that you'll suffer overall. You guys seem like a very passionate group of racers and I'd hate to see that happen to you.

I'm not trying to bash your group or start a flame war, I'm just saying what I feel needs to be said. I'm not an insider, I don't know what's happening behind the scenes, I'm just going off of what I see and that only. That's why in the end, it's an opinion.

I agree with redbull

I surely won't be able to address each thing. Nor do I believe that anyone's unhappy. Everyone has their concerns, and I've reached out personally to explain things and come up with a better long term solution, and I stand by the notion that nothing will be seriously changed until after Sunday. I feel that this group here are some of the most passionate guys here as well, and that passion is what has us here. I feel if there was any serious issues, they would have happened before now and would have created something different.

Okay, your view on unhappy is exactly what? Not having people question every move you make, or the idea that no one cares to riot. If that's the case, then you are right. No one really cares to protest. Either they race or they don't and that's a line you really don't want to play with. I'll refrain from making any judgements until after you pull these "changes" out of your ass. But you're playing a dangerous game.

Ladies come on now......
Everyone has disagreements. I'd like to believe that we can disagreements involving the use of anvils and airplanes.

Of course she won't respond because she's too busy walking in that loopy bin she calls a shelter, but I will state a solid fact. Unless things change dramatically after Indy, there won't be a 2016 season.

TBH, I'm shocked IRG made it this far without any major arguments.
