A moderator needs to come by and approve your first post(s). As we're quite busy, and have day jobs too, that can take some time!

it's huuuuuugee

I have a small question, if it is a rolling start can I at least take a picture after they cross the line?

Thanks! I've been having some problems with my internet connection here too so there may be multiple posts - apologies in advance.

Hope you like the photo entry though!

there has been a small debate about that.

I read the topic title and figure that it's either a grid start, or the firts corner of a track.

I'm running into an issue though.
the situation that I wanna photo would never happen in any realm of life. it IS the first corner, and it probably WILL be off the grid start, but it's pretty much impossible. . .
bets i can do is enter and see if it works I guess. . .

however, on thing I will ask: are multiple cars required? sounds obvious, but if I'm doing a standing start time trial (which I think is possible on the track I'm trying) would that be legal?

Hi all - loving some of the work so far :)

Just to clear up some of the questions, yes it is my intention that shot is a first corner, from a grid / standing start (My typo originally and just copy pasted).

This is to produce that close racing 'feel'....

I do like many of the shots that have challenged this initial starting point already, and re the Super GT rolling start question - well if its done in a way I can't tell - I don't have a reason to leave it out of the poll...

Solo shots are also ok, as long as they somehow show the impact / feel etc of 'the first corner'

Remember your photos / previews need to pass the rules section - before I even get to choose the poll entries... even if I wanted them to count - they have to be fair!

Hope that all helps a bit - any questions just ask on here, you might not be the only one thinking about the same things...

Other than that - do you like the theme? And its a dam shame I can't enter my own weeks comp, I do have a few ideas of my own...

first corner and its already damaged? wow:odd:

no it was later in the race of leguna sega 200 mile race, but i tried to get a similar one like it and i didnt get anyhting close to that one so i just was like screw it, its an awsome pic, i cant get anything like it, still the first corner so... i'll just turn it in and deal with it

It has to be from the start of the race though.

STILL No answer to my question; DOES IT HAVE TO BE A RACE, OR CAN IT BE SOLO?

got major issues with this.
the first corner is usually one big massive cluster**** for me, and provides little awesomeness.
I do enjoy the difficulty though Malc0.

biggest issue is cars. in my opinion, the field of cars needs to make sense. my 66 XJ13 shouldn't be racing against modern LMP cars. since GT5 doesn't let you pick individual AI cars, I'm kinda bonered.
other is the situation i want to get.
first corner of a nurburgring race at night.

all fine and well, until you get 5 cars on camera with headlamps a-shining. just messes up the mood I wanna capture.

I want that feeling of lonliness on the Ring in the middle of night, facing that whole lap on the first corner. the pressure you get as you hit that first corner.

So, for now, I'm entering this. it's a solo shot, taken on the first corner, right after the start of my lap. if it doesn't fit, let me know, and I'll gladly swap it out for something. I'm currently cookin up a different idea anyway, so it may just end up being a placeholder.

GM
A few posts up the theme setter has said solo is ok...

Thank you, it must've been a long-winded response, cause I didn't see it. :scared:

I decided on one that wasn't Solo, in the end anyways, go figure. lol -- I was going to do a drifting shot originally.

The way I did my photo to just get me and the other Chapparal was to enter the Historic Car championship, and at the start drive infront of the other Chapparal and stop, so it got stuck behind me, then only carry on driving once all the other cars were way ahead and had no chance of interupting my photo shoot
