Hey guys, i've been thinking i would like another race night each week. I would like to keep it a couple of nights apart from Club543 but i had no particular night in mind yet. I was thinking of running a one-make season though. After a brief discussion with G, Im thinking a one-make tuning season may be the go. I was just wondering if anyone in here would be interested? Open to suggestion and input too, thanks :)

I was just wondering if anyone in here would be interested? :)

Interested, yes. Cannot guarantee attendance every time, though, and banning family from wifi one night a week can be difficult. Two might be a deal breaker, but I'll do my best (although you might prefer if I stayed away??). I can tell you now, though, there's no way I'm driving some slow ******* ! Ryan likes them, though.

I thought it was only Hat you weren't fond of, since he would pick his own advantages and penalties and interfere with everyone's else battles as he impatiently sailed past.

Maybe have a novelty mini-series in between proper seasons. Go karts, weird cars, etc... something to let your hair down and anger out where bumps are seen as fun rather than unsportsmanlike.

Speaking of karts

Yeah fair enough Ryan. You seem to have a lot on your plate as it is. Thanks for the response though :)
Nah Brett, you're more than welcome, if you can make it. Only one way to get better and thats to race those who are better.
Yeah it wont be ****boxes. Probably somewhere around 500-650pp. I'd like to mak it a proper structured series too, not just a mini series for the heck of it. Not that that isnt an option between seasons anyway though.
Everything else aside though, i want to get some interest first before i worry too much about the details. Otherwise i may be just wasting my time ironing out the details if ill be the only one there lol

Quick question, since we're all aussie and GT6 players - are any of you guys members on RaceOnOz.com? I'm a bit more of a lurker there but they're a massive GT6 league community with multiple divisions if you want more local racing action.

Really? That's where warrior hails from. OzCoMoBros sent their 4 finest (and me) to race against them and another league earlier in a 3-way AU/NZ league battle.

Their Div 1 drivers should give you a better battle than we can manage at least.

Too easy :)

You mean three of their finest, you and Gastro ? (I think you belong in their finest, actually...)

I'll be honest, I think I've improved somewhat since OCMB days... maybe it's finally being able to pick a proper car for once. I always have fun racing against Gastro though, he's clean but not afraid to have a red hot go and risk it all either.

Rod (who's since moved to Germany) was on fire in that particular race, besides the odd gravel trap excursion, he had the rest of us licked for pace. I only brought up ROOZ since I've been lurking there and they seem like they've got a good thing going on re. GT6 league racing.

Howzat for the 3 of Matt, yourself and I all getting 180 points in Round 8?! We've been near-unsplittable for most of the season (when we showed up and finished the race). But then of course Matt had awesome pace in Race 1 and you're on Hards.

Some love for GTPlanet: http://i.minus.com/jY0jSJc6uMmcS.jpg

That's it...... After one more round,
Season 1 is at an end.... :gtpflag:
It has been great fun guys, and thanks for racing....

I will be keeping rooms going for testing and fun times through wednesday nights until season 2 starts....
(When what we are doing for season 2 has been decided - I might need some help guys)

Looking at starting season 2 around the end of January 2015.

If you are happy with the concept i was testing ie : Ferrari Vs Shelby Vs Mercedes - I will keep testing.
One make series suggestions are also welcome.

On another note, seeing as you guys are such a good bunch, please can we all ask at least one person
on GT6 that we know and trust to be a good clean driver if they would be interested in joining CluB543 ???
The field of 6 is easy to manage but it would be great to get a few more racers so that it isn't so lonely
sometimes if you are kicking butt or down the back somewhere.....

Once again, thanks to everyone for their attendance, hard work and great racing.
I look forward to many more seasons ahead.
Cheers, Gastro

Hey Gastro, I'm sure I write on behalf of everyone when I say thank you for what you've done (even though Ryan seemed to be doing more towards the end... ). Seriously, though, you picked up the ball when nobody else wanted to and the concept has worked well I think. I agree we have a good bunch of guys who race respectfully and seem to enjoy themselves. I know I've enjoyed trying to keep up with Matt (whose running a controller for f's sake - how good is he ??? Don't get a wheel please !!) and running hard against Ryan (the sneaky bastard tactician who knows exactly how much he can slow down and still win at Rome ). I am looking forward to watching the replay.. you have no idea how much restraint it took to not stuff my G37 up the inside at the last turn in race 2 (especially when I was catching you hand over fist, thinking your tyres had gone but not knowing you were just toying with me ya mongrel to stop another lap from happening !), but then I thought that you wouldn't do it to me so sanity prevailed.

I reckon if fullgas had been able to maintain connections etc he would have been a force to be reckoned with, and Cole has come on in leaps and bounds (some really good times lately, mate, well done). As for you, G, you're a great mate and a good (and predictable) racer. Funnily enough, Mitch was sitting with me watching at Rome, and predicted your crash into the turn 5 chicane to the lap  ! ) Nearly crashed myself laughing ! Seriously, though, you've man handled the Vette admirably this season (and we'll leave the weirdo facebook profile pic debacle for another time).

Good times with good blokes.... what more could you want ?
Cheers everyone. It's been a pleasure. Looking forward to the next season already.

Some kind words there Brett, thanks for that. Yeah i have really enjoyed the season. The hard work i put in with testing really paid off, it was close, it was exciting and i really enjoyed racing with all of you guys. Matt has become amazing as he has put in a lot of prac and testing as well, thanks matt. Phil, shame about your dc's, for the times that you raced with us though it was fun. Thanks ryan for the scoring as i have had little to no access to my pc or my ps3.
Work has been way too busy also....

Colecam, well done mate. Your pace was amazing in the last half of the season.
looking forward to more with ya in season 2.

Cheers

Ahh, yes. The good old days. Racing with incompetent cocks like Jock, Taital et al.... Thank Christ we don't have them in Gastro's comp.
Sorry mate, I'm no longer accepting members in the fan club. Loved your fan note though, thanks.

When I play racing games, I race to win and compete to the best of my ability. This does not always make for a clean race.

Still can't believe how I managed to get from 4th to 1st by turn 1 in race 2. Were you guys asleep or worried about another false start?

You can also see with about 3 laps to go I notice that I'll finish the race pretty close to the counter hitting 0 so I lose a little concentration while doing the maths, then drive a little slower just to make sure it does hit 0. Timer was bang on 2:16 with 2 laps to go and I was averaging 1:08's and had a ~2 second gap to XR6.
