CluB543 - Season 2Open

Yeah it is close at the top, for now anyway. It's also still very close between 7th and 10th too.
Sierra might mix things up abit. Im certainly not expecting a great result there. Speaking of Sierra though. Do you think we could knock the slipstream back to weak, if not real. I mean ill run whatever, but i think there will be enough off track excursions without everyone playing leap frog for 40mins. Just my opinion, but i'm curious what everyone else thinks about it

I have put slipstream on strong simply so we can have a chance of keeping up with the person in front.
If you lose pace.... it wont matter.

If you are all against it i will turn it off.

Yeah im happy to race it with or without too. I just wanted to put it out there.
Hahaha. Ahh so you rekon his plan is to ride your butt the whole way around hey?

Haha yeah i think we're all in the same boat. Ill be trying to hang in there as long as possible too. I think my best so far is still atleast 20 secs off the time you guys were running

Well... that was weird !
I'll start with an apology... the original intention (and Gastro's too, i think) was to run quali for 15 minutes and then start the race. I was very reluctant to start (having been asked to create the room) without this, and the result could have been quite different if I had done it properly.
Second, some thanks. Nicko... there's no way you weren't foxing there mate ! I've seen your (unbelievable) time on the GTR Silverstone challenge, so if it was your intention to go slow on purpose to liven up the championship, all I can say is you shouldn't have, but thanks !
Third: how good was it that, following some initial and short-lived trouble, there wasn't one disconnect ?! Maybe I should run all the races G ?
Fourth: What happened fullgas ? I went into the pits at the end of lap 2 with a 50-odd second lead, and came out to only be 5 secs in front on lap 3's first sector split. Why did you stay out ? Your front tyres must have been shredded by the end of your third lap !
Also, the strong slipstream seemed to make for some interesting battles back in the pack ! It was interesting to watch the order change back and forth so much. Additionally, having the corvette up there again was great - well done slot !
Finally.. bloody happy with my race. I got a better time (9:06) in practice in Gastro's original room than I had managed in private practice (which was a 9:10), and was hoping it was good enough to give Nicko a run for his money.... but like I said... foxxxxxxxxx ! :sly:

I had no intention of giving away the win for that one XR6, I just had no chance of even staying on the track and couldn't get any of the corners right
Well done on your win mate, smashed us all.

Yeah, the focus for me right now is on GT Academy, hoping for a good result and trying to improve before the final round.

For a race that I was dreading, I quite enjoyed Sierra. Very well done XR6! You're quick anyway, but you just absolutely dominate at Sierra. When I saw your 9:06 I was stunned. I think the best I managed on the night was a 9:21.3. I was only 3 tenths off that on my last lap too, when Slot and I were battling for position. That was an intense battle. It took me a little over a lap to catch up and then the last half of the last lap, we just started playing leap frog. I think we swapped position at least 3 or 4 times. It was a great battle, but you were too good in the end. I think as I said on the night. I caught up to you only to light a fire under you, that and I had spent so much energy trying to catch you that I had very little left. I wish I had've put less fuel in on the last stop, but hindsight's 20/20. Well done Slot.

Yeah it was a shame about the lack of qually again, but we know that wasn't the intention. I think in the end it worked itself out anyway, for the most part that is. It made for some interesting racing though. I had a bit of a back and forth with Gastro and Vet early on, which was fun. In saying that there were also a few incidents because of it, I think. I would also like to apologise if I bumped anyone or disadvantaged anyone. In particular SS. I'm sorry mate, after running off, it threw me back onto the track. It was a shame to see Fullgas miss the pit stop too. When I saw your name in 2nd I was hoping you'd take it all the way to the end. Bad luck mate, Next time.

Yeah at first I thought that perhaps Nicko may have just disliked the track or something, but after watching the replay it didn't even look like the same driver given some of your previous performances. That being said though I can understand you focusing on GT Academy and very well done on your time. I had about 15 laps on it and it took me at least 10 to get past the 2:10 mark. Still about 5 seconds away -.- lol. Much like I imagine the rest of us are, I'm going to have another crack at it though.

Once again, Great race guys. As always, looking forward to the next one!

See you all next week!
Cheers, Gastro.👍

Looks like XR6 has got it in the bag!! Great work mate consistent drive all season!

See everyone on Wednesday. :)

Looks like XR6 has got it in the bag!! :)
Haha... yeah, maybe. I ran a sim today on SSR5, trying to work out how many seconds ahead you'd be per lap, how many laps you'd do and whether I should pit after so many laps or add one here and there... hard to tell ! I figured on you being 2 to 2.5 sec a lap clear, so around 27-28 laps in 40 mins. Gastro hasn't yet decided on 3 or 4 stops, though, so no doubt that will throw a spanner into the works if his decision varies from my run. Fun and games !

Crap way to finish off for Nicko... the cup is his really. Anyway, cheers to gastro for running the championship under what became difficult circumstances. Thanks to all the drivers - you're a great bunch of blokes who race hard and fair. Looking forward to the GT300s though. A ceremonial torching of the GTO is taking place tomorrow....

Cheers XR6, yeah definitely not how I wanted the season to finish but obviously there's not much you can do about it. Thanks to everyone for some really enjoyable races, I had a lot of fun. :)

Well done to XR6 on taking the cup, you drove awesome mate.

Looking forward to season 3 with the GT300's.

Yeah cracking time mate well done.
Thanks for the upload phil.... i feel like an idiot for not recording the results lol but oh well.

I enjoyed racing with all of you, a clean bunch indeed. Thanks again.
Dont forget guys that there is a facebook group as well if you want to join.
Cant paste link from my phone so just go to facebook and search clu543 and you should find it easily enough, it is a public group so just send a request and i will accept it. I post videos and links there which is handy.

Thanks again everyone, i will update scores very soon.
Cheers, G-man

Another great season, with some close battles and a great group of racers. There were some intense battles both on track and in points. I think it challenged most of us in one way or another. For some the cars and tyres were an issue, for others it was the tracks and the settings. Well done on another great set up G. And for almost sneaking away with a bronze ;)

Very well done XR6! Back to back Championships. You drove really well, as always. Especially considering it was in a car, on settings you dont enjoy. A credit to your racing. Its true that missed races and disconnects changed the points, but showing up and finishing races is half the battle.

Very well done to Nicko aswell! You were the standout of the season, with some dominating wins and truly impressive lap times. Shame about the disconnect on the last race of the season and you should've had the title, but im sure it'll only be a motivator to drive even harder. You've raised the bar and its great to have you apart of the Club.

It has been good to have more racers this season and great ones at that. And to race again with the guys from Season 1. There have been impressive performances throughout the field and i have had close, good battles with just about everyone at some point. Shame there were a few issues with disconnects and rooms, but it was still a great season. Thanks again guys. I hope you guys enjoyed it too and are as keen for Season 3 as i am!

Gastrobotic - 413 + 55 = 468

To everyone, thanks, you put up a good fight all season,
the racing got tougher as time went on.

There was always a battle going on somewhere in the field which was great to see.
It is entirely possible that in some way shape or form, that i
might have made a few of those battles happen :dopey:
by maybe getting the occasional tank slapper at the wrong time.
Either way, I enjoyed the season and had some great times.
Thanks for some quality fun-time.
:cheers:CHEERS!

:gtpflag:5th Place:gtpflag:

Slotrunner - 360 + 40 = 400

Good job dude, after nearly losing you for some reason halfway through the season, you fought to keep the corvette as high on the list as possible. A clean racer & always a laugh.

This picture describes you well, tail happy but still on the line

Great job with the championship G & congrats Brett on the No1 spot.
Had a blast this season & was good to race with a few & not be circulating by myself. I learnt a lot this season & appreciate the feedback given here.

Looking forward to next season & hope we all come back next season as you are all brilliant to race with.
