Don't worry BM I don't drive either but have found the transition to manual gearing to be far superior to automatic.

Just remap the control to accelerate R2; Brake L2; Gear up R1 and gear down L1. It takes a short while to get used to but works very well.

Without aids is good, if they don't dumb it down too much for the casual player that it hurts the rest.

You know, you have a whole thumb you're not using with that setup. ;)

Ahh, well spotted - I like to keep that thumb free for emergencies, or a handbrake turn, which is usually the same thing :sly:

It's also handy for firing imaginary rockets/machine guns at the competitors :)

So, there's a release date, with a DLC thing for pre-orders, but no demo yet?

And, like 15 cars? Are you kidding me? This might be worse than GT5 Prologue.

No car-list has been released.

Why is everyone acting like this is supposed to be a hardcore sim? Its not and i personally loved Grid and it was a very good arcade racer.
I don't ask Assetto Corsa I just expect some decent arcade behaviour, something that you can actually predict what the car is doing. Arcade doesn't necesarely mean crap physics. Let's think about Dirt 2, Sega Rally etc.

Demo or no buy.

I don't need perfect sim physics in every game, I enjoy plenty of straight up arcade racers like Burnout or further up the scale the PGR series, I just need physics that are predictable and easy to manage, even if it's not realistically handling. Shift for example didn't do this, it didn't just have slidey arcade physics, it had physics that was a pain to actually drive and live with.

And I've watched this

No i can clearly see that this game is in between NFS Shift and NFS Most Wanted 2012. Should be a lot of fun 👍 👍

Agreed.

Codemasters marketing for this is full of sim blah blah, I wish they wouldn't market it as something it's not. I watched a good part of the 45min gameplay video with dev commentary and it was so full of **** I had to turn it off.

Why do they need to blurt utter bollox for marketing I don't know, can't they just be honest about the game, I'm all for the good arcade game when I'm in the mood and I liked the first GRID with a gamepad. I can't see me buying this, especially not if there isn't a demo before hand.

Yeah it was silly hearing them talk about how light and grippy the BAC Mono was as is slid around a corner as if it had no grip, then did the opposite, broke stupidly late into a corner and slid it around with no issue. Then they claimed they'd worked with the manufacturer to get the handing just right. Clearly not.

Not as bad as NFS SHIFT 2 ,God that was awful

No, hes talking about the "sim" marketing.

NFS Shift 2 went on and on and on about how they had the most advanced physics engine ever and blah blah blah.

Yeah I will wait and see with the demo if they do one. Yeah I hear what you say about dumbing it down. They might make it less realistic when it would have just been better to have realism and assists.

What they really blabb about was most advanced marketing.

As seen on the GRID Facebook page. Volvo S60, from the BTCS.

Let's hope the make a reincarnation of all the BTCC cars of Toca 2

TOCA2
Nissan Primera
Ford Mondeo
Honda Accord
Vauxall Vectra
Volvo S40
Renault Laguna
Peugeot 406

So, if the Volvo S40 becomes the Volvo S60 in Grid2, then probably we will have for the Renault Laguna, the NEW Renault Laguna and for the Peugeot 406 the new Peugeot 508.

But for the other replacements?

That would be pretty awesome. 👍 There seems to be 3 different cars per event, so we should see another 2 Touring cars.

More racing cars peaking their heads up now.. Damned Codies with their slow trickle releasing of cars etc :P.

Also that being a silhouette car we may see the Megane silhouette etc.

I was wondering if we would also see the silhouette racers that races in the TTA-Elitserien since they all use the Solution F chassis.

A new picture of the Volvo, which seems to show different colour/body cars around it.. Albeit not very much of them.

My instinct says it's a Citroen, from TTA.

I hate this backstory! I mean you are going to race for a guy who thinks he is gonna change the world like he has done many times before.

This game is going to suck monkeyballs.

And why does he have such a dull tone of voice?

I'm just worried it'll promote dirty tactics as a fair option - given his 'world view'. I wouldn't want anything to do with such a self-centred pillock and if I had to listen to him going on throughout the game...no, just no.

So, instead of a demo, they give us a self-centred pillock. :scared: ^ I agree with MeanElf, and will not even think twice. Unsubscribing.
