A new picture of the Volvo, which seems to show different colour/body cars around it.. Albeit not very much of them.

My instinct says it's a Citroen, from TTA.

My instinct tell me its a VW Scirocco...

Thanks MrMelancholy. A bit more info about 'how it will be'

World Series Racing Part 1: An American Dream.

The video is narrated by Patrick Callahan, the entrepreneur and founder of World Series Racing, the fictional cross-discipline motor racing championship that runs throughout GRID 2, who introduces his vision for the series and its beginnings in the USA.

In the video, Patrick Callahan outlines his plans for a new motorsports series and introduces players to two key racing clubs he needs to recruit as in-game footage showcases some of GRID 2’s American locations, including Street Racing in Chicago, Track Racing at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Road Racing at the dramatic California Coast. It’s Callahan’s intention to bring the best drivers from different disciplines and styles from all over the world together to compete in one unified league and find the ultimate driving superstar. But to set up a new motorsports series, and get the rewards he craves, he needs a star. And that’s where the player comes in…

As Patrick Callahan’s raw talent, GRID 2 players will travel the world, recruiting race clubs and their drivers to compete in new and traditional racing events, crossing in and out of their established disciplines. Callaghan figures if he can get the best, the crowds will come. And then he’ll bring the eyes of the world onto his new series.

GRID 2’s world will reflect the progress players make in the game. Perform on the track and gamers will grow their fanbase, earning fame – GRID 2’s xp – allowing them access to new events, sponsors, cars and increasing their profile. To immerse players further in this new world of competitive motorsport, Codemasters has collaborated with ESPN to create exclusive in-game ESPN SportsCenter live-action video sequences that chart the rise of World Series Racing as it grows from a grass-roots curiosity to a headline-grabbing championship in the global sports market.

It might not be so, but I'm guessing that this'll be another game where you'll be booed at if you leave the race for whatever reason. Frankly that's something I never felt comfortable about in both Grid and Dirt. I had hoped that CM might have stopped doing that sort of thing.

Considering I don't give two bucks that I get booed for a low drift score on GT5, it'll hardly be something for me to worry about. I'll just be a Kurt Busch and not care

Looks like a Lexus LFA to the left, no?

Just preordered this from Amazon, says that there's IndyCar racing?

Nah, Headlights don't match:

It looks closer to the Martini Scirocco:

Also I know this is off topic, but am I the only one that finds a silouette Hatchback Race Car kinda awesome looking?

If it is the Sirocco, how will they go about the Martini logo? Just blur it out like PD, or just go for it as it seems like Codemasters doesn't care much for their game ratings. (Looking at DiRT 3)

I imagine they'll have to manipulate the logo somehow like PD did with the Martini Liveried Lancia Rally cars they have in GT5. Always hated that game companies always do that though.

Yeah, I know it won't be a big issue for most either - I should have put that in the post too.

For some reason, I get really sensitive about it and that just gets in the way of my enjoyment.

+2

I bet such a car wouldn't tolerate being bashed around as much as a BTCC car could, though.

Is there a team that runs the Chevy Sonic? The Sirocco looks close, but the lamp itself looks different, and it looks like it has an angled housing.

This sounds just as bad as the cheesy story from the first Race Driver game.

Of course, people loved it didn't they? :sly:

Maybe its me, but I've never really cared for Storylines in racing games. They work in FPS games, Flight sims (assuming they don't take the usual "destroy those evil Russians" route) and RPGs, but they never seem right in a Racing game.

I always liked codies touringcar parts in the games. Racedriver on Ps2 was no visual highlight but even in this game the Btcc part was awesome! I loved to race on Knockhill and Oulton Park. It seems that in Grid 2 there is the Belgium Touring Cars. I just hope that codies is listening and they revamp good old Toca or provide the toca add on (dlc) for Grid2! It would be nice when they would do something with the licenses that made them big.

Looking forward to grid2! Even with the Ryan Mckane part :-)

Edit...

I spend an afternoon with TOCA2 (ps1) and i must say that this was again an intense experience. This door2door racing is still unmatched in the currentgen consoleracers. This game just has everything! 15 strong ai cars, nice and challenging carhandling, pitstops, damage, weather, great tracks! It's truly an astonishing masterpiece of the ps1 days :-)

OK, gonna ruffle a few feathers with what I'm about to say:

TOCA 1, to me, is crap. For the time, it looks good, the framerate is OK, but the physics were absolute garbage. I managed to get ahold of a copy, and I tried to give it benefit of the doubt, but I couldn't make it past the first track any time. Turning at 30 gives understeer into spinning, turning at all at full speed usually ends up in immediate cyclones, 4WD doesn't do anything, and forget turning AND braking. I drove like my grandmother drives and still couldn't stay on the track either due to the lack of steering or snap-spinning.

Edit- Stories in racing games are fine as long as they don't do a few things. First, they don't need to get in the way of the racing, and they need a good reason if they do. Second, Don't harp on me to get something done, especially menial BS that there for filler or to "connect better". Third, and most important, do not become the main focus of the game. NFS: The Run did these badly, Forza Horizon is guilty of the second. The best racing-story (there's something I haven't said before) probably has to go to NFSU2, if for nothing more than it ties everything together, even if loosely, the is no, I repeat, NO love story BS, and along with being the best, you get to take down the jerk who ended you're reign in U1.

Fixed for clarification. I'm no fighter, but I'll go down....I got nothing here.:ouch:

No worries, I just joking because you are the first person I've heard say that about Toca 1 and seeing how everyone always clamors to that game whenever they bring up "When Codemasters made good games".

I guess this is all new. Can't recognize any of the cars in the first race apart from the Scirocco.

That Alfa is properly ugly.
