I think this game honestly will have better physics than Grid 1. I liked Grid 1 but theres no denying that some of the car physics were horribly wrong even for arcade. The LMP cars did not turn whatsoever and the Formula 3 cars were even worse. For the higher powered cars you pretty much had to use the E-brake to get the thing to turn.

Simulators spoiled arcade racers for me, I cannot longer have fun when I can't "feel" the car properly.
But I'm not asking iRacing / rFactor 2 / Assetto Corsa physics
just something less crappy than what I'm seeing in the videos.
I really can't feel immersion when driving on a licensed track with licensed cars and physics like that.

Idea for Codemasters: just quit licensed content and create futuristic racers. Rollcage anyone? :sly:

I can understand that. What really excites me is the fact that one wrong move could mean the end of my race, and probably in a very exciting way. That's one reason games like GT5 only last so long for me. Yes they are more realistic, but there isn't really a threat like that to keep me on my toes.

Well after trying Dirt Showdown for an hour, and cooling off for two, I can safely say that while GRID 2 won't be using simulation gameplay, it won't be as arcade crap-tastic as DS.

Well Dirt Showdown was never meant to simulate driving cars. It was an arcade destruction derby game. people played it to smash cars up not modulate the throttle on a figure 8 course and get the perfect racing lines.

No it wont but will make a hell of a drift game tho linking tracks the way the smoke leaves the road as u just snaped 3rd mid slide just enjoy the game the way games were intened to be enjoyed.

True but when you drive in Arcade mode you can turn full damage on, if you crash you don't see any spectacular crash but the race is ruined and I must restart. So far I'm not hyped at all, I'll wait a couple of months and eventually a couple of patches, let's what people will think about this game expecially wheel users.

That and people going out of their way to tell us how they wont buy because of no cockpit view and how its mandatory in racing games now.

Yeah, I mean the 130+ hours I've put into SEGA Rally Revo since 2009 really shows how it affects how good a racing game is.

Because apparently only sims can be good racing games.

I guess people forget about Burnout, V-Rally, Sega Rally, Daytona, Outrun and so on.

This may be a day 1 buy, Grid 1 was great and I am rarely let down by Codemasters. May just hold off to see what issues are uncovered first.

Argh so torn whether to buy it or not. I've found that since playing Gran Turismo 5 I lost my love for Arcade racers. My first game was Burnout Paradise City for my PS3 and it was my favourite game for ages and yet recently I tried playing and just simply couldn't. I bought Ridge Racer 7 and couldn't event get into it. The un realism of it was too much for me to handle. I have grid 1, and enjoyed playing but it wasn't ever as close to the fun I have with Gran Turismo 5. I don't know if it will be worth buying for £45 or whatever the release price is. I should probably complete Grid 1, NFS Shift 1/2 Most Wanted (which I paid £30 for and haven't actually played properly).

Don't touch MW2012 with a bargepole... sure it's fun at first but offline is reptitive and online is full of n00bs and booster lobbies 👎:yuck:

MW 2012 is fun it was never ment to be anything else in that it succeeds is it a perfect game no

I dont think it's fun personally. I didnt try the online part because unless I know who I race with I dont really like to race online but offline the game is boring as hell and I had 0 fun in it.

Plus all the game is instable, devs don't care about it anymore. Look at how well was that game supported: 3 DLC's, 3 patches with minor fixes :indiff:

2012's Most Wanted wasn't really for the single player. That's why they always talked about the multiplayer. If you knew what kind of game it was, and took it for what it actually is, then the game is fun to an extent.

Racing people who are in Veyrons and other supercars just to beat them in a LFA and hearing them rage was hilarious.

Bit late to run from NFS MW. Seeing as I've already bought it. I always give games a chance, but do I give grid a £45 chance is the question.

Why don't you trade MW and other games for Grid 2? That way you don't actually put down any money for it.

Only problem is as soon as I trade it ill wanna play it. Maybe I'll just wait for it to drop to £30 odd. Driving games seem to drop like stones.
