I'm replaying Grid 1 and I have quite a bit of fun, it's not a sim racer but it's entertaining which is all I ask. If the 2 is an evolution of that with a bit more challenge it can be cool.

There wont be no demo. But here, have a nice BS PR excuse:

Just to confirm, there will be no demo, but before you all start let me explain. Making a demo isn't as simple cutting a portion of the game out and making it available, in essence it's almost like creating a mini version of the game. It takes a great deal of time and more importantly resources, as such we've literally pooled every available hand into creating the final version of GRID 2, which you'll be able to play in approximately two weeks time.

We've put all our effort into creating one hell of a game and didn't want to take any development time away from it, doing so would have had an affect on the final product. To put it into perspective we were making finishing touches day and night (no exaggeration) over the last few weeks. If we had to create a demo build this would have likely had a knock on effect and all that extra polish, those final tweaks would not have been possible.

Well I'm glad I never put a penny down in pre-order on this. I will wait a few months or so till its under £20 pre owned(thats if the reviews are good).

No cockpit view because they needed the resources and nobody actually use cockpit view. No demo because they needed the resources else where. Sounds to me like codies is having a resource problem. No demo for this tells me they dont want people trying it before they get your money. Was kinda up in the air about this game, but without a demo Im over it. If I cant try it I cant buy it.

Not a lot of games have demos anymore to be honest.

True but not a lot of developers come up with similarily stupid excuses why. Looking at the rather comical handling and massive technical problems mentioned in previews, I think the real reason why there is no demo is that they dont want people to see the shortcomings of their game before shelling out 60 bucks.

How do they explain all the press/preview builds that they've been putting out the last few months then? Surely they took away more development time than a smaller demo would?

Why would you want a demo? you sound like you would hate it even if there was a demo
As much as I dislike huge parts of the game, I'm very keen to feel how it drives. And if it fell to my taste, there'd been a small chance that I would've picked up a ''Complete Edition'' for a cheap buck. But that will definitely not happen now.

That's why you rent things like this if they don't have a demo, if you can. Myself, personally, I'm gonna grab it. I'll take my chances with or without the demo.

I loved the first Grid dont get me wrong but it had a lot of problems with it. From what I've seen and the general gameplay of the new one ill take my chances because it looks a lot better than the first. I also like the idea of a little more story that they have put into single player although i do wish you could still own your own team. Cockpit is not necessary for me to be in a racing game. Especially if its an arcade game. If Racenet is as good as codies hype it up to be then this game looks really good to me.

If RaceNet is better than Autolog, I'll be happy.

After seeing that "Overtake" video, I think I'll be waiting. I haven't played GRID 1, DiRT, DiRT 2, Or Dirt 3 for a while, may be good to break the rust off, considering the handling models will be similar.

I can't wait for this now, Grid is still to this day my favourite PS3 racing game. Perhaps my favourite racer of all time, second only to GT4.
They nailed everything about it physics wise, it's so much fun whilst not being too arcadey. It was challenging, the damage was spot on, the flashback thing was cool, and online was awesome. It was the game that really got me into playing online, never looked back since.

Perhaps it's only flaws was lag sometimes ruined the online races, and the fools taking you out every other corner. Also a slightly limited range of cars and tracks, but that didn't bother me.

Fingers crossed they retain that fun factor for Grid 2, and make multiplayer as good if not better. Can't wait.

It's unusually cheap too.

Colonial Marines was a different case though. It didn't have a predecessor that pleased the masses, or a predecessor in the first place really. It was a questionable one to look into, we know what to expect here, especially how we've been given so much on what the game is made up of.

What if it does sucks badly this time. Still you don't play it even demo version. So your entire decision about buying is based on videos.

Alien colonial marines promotion was also based on videos that had nothing to do with final release. I'm just saying do not pre order games. Be patient, wait for reviews and then make your decision. This saves money, nerves, and hit's directly to game developers.

We customers had our rights to.

Since there is no Ridge Racer coming to PS4 i guess Grid 2 has to take RR place as arcade fun racer. 👍 I hope to be great game but i won't put my money on the line basing just on videos. Give me Demo at least 👍 decent reviews will do too 👍

So what about GTA V in that aspect? As big as that game is, its going to be sold out in places quite quick. So, I'm gonna preorder. A pre-order bonus is just that. A bonus for pre-ordering.

If I want the game, I'm going to pre-order. If you're on the fence about it, then wait for reviews.

Not every developer is going to release a demo for each game.

Sorry for stating the obvious, but every review based on a pre-release copy must be sanctioned by the publisher. Draw your own conclusion, but I hardly ever give a second thought to early reviews these days.
