O.S.U.'s big play maker,Devier Posey is making his comeback this week after serving out his suspension. :D This could be the weapon the Bucks need to get one over on Penn State. I'm still not sold on beating Michigan, in Ann Arbor next week.:indiff:

The Cougars will not get the respect because of the "strength of schedule" in the eyes of the "BS" BCS rankings.

Lets just get a playoff system already NCAA, it is about time for one. The BCS is a farce!

The funny thing was, if Southern Miss would have won out and beat Houston in the C-USA championship game. A one loss C-USA team. I'd be all for ECU getting invited, but someone deserves it way more than either of us. Southern Miss lost to UAB (otherwise known as the worst team in the nation) last night. They deserved it for onside kicking the opening kickoff and running a fake field goal touchdown pass when up by two touchdowns. No one needs to run that jerk playcalling except Oregon, I wanted USM to lose at that point.

In other news, ECU begins their 2 game journey for a bowl game here in Greenville on Saturday night against division rival UCF. Both games could go either way, since all 3 teams involved in both games suck now. We head to Huntington, WV next Saturday to play Marshall. I will be attending Duke-Carolina football that day to cheer on my Blue Devils.

Earlier today, Joe Paterno was told to be diagnosed with some form of treatable lung cancer. There's hope he'll be alright from this, though. JoePa has already been through so much recently. No need to pile on something like this.

There's also talk of changes to the BCS- no more automatic qualifiers, and an assuring #1 vs. #2 for the title game. I'll have to read into more changes to this deal.

Being an Iowa St. fan... I'm used to it... :/

Hey dude, go party it up .

Oklahoma State is toppled by Iowa State, opening the door for a one loss or a Houston if people lose twice to get to the title game.

WE GOT AN UPSET!

I should have mentioned #2 Oklahoma State at Iowa State. It wasn't until I saw my Twitter feed that Oklahoma State and Iowa State went into OVERTIME. Next thing you know it- the Cowboys lost 37-31. It was set up (according to the Tweet) when OkSU got picked off in Overtime. Afterwards, the Cyclones got her done- upsetting the #2 team in FBS.

So now... it's only LSU and Houston that are unbeaten in FBS. Can you believe it?

[UPDATE] Apparently, it was a double-overtime game. Not a good weekend for Oklahoma State. I mentioned the death of the women's basketball coach and his assistant coach dying in the plane crash on Thursday night. Now, this tragic moment for Oklahoma State football as they fell on the road at Iowa State.

It also said that the men's basketball team had a plane crash in 2001 that killed 10. What are the odds..

Teams are falling. Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Clemson. They're paving the way for Houston to get a shot at LSU. Now Georgia just has to beat LSU in the SEC title game, and there will be total chaos :).

My Pirates pulled an amazing win over UCF, Damon Magazu pulled another game winning pick and my voice is totally gone, Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium was absolutely electric, great night Seniors 👍.

All Hell breaking loose in college football, huh? Of all the losses, I was most disappointed with Clemson. How can you just NOT show up at North Carolina State? It was just a pathetic showing by them. The win I was most impressed with was the win Baylor just got over Oklahoma. I was going to say Michigan over Nebraska, but Baylor just had that extra in them to win. Absolute thing of beauty.

My love and respect for Robert Griffin III just improved with this game. That back-breaking long TD pass late in the game basically sealed Oklahoma's fate. Even better was that pass that was bounced into the air, in the hands of another Baylor Bear, and all the way into the end zone. It was brilliant!

I am obviously impressed with the Houston Cougars on a job well done. It wasn't a 40+ point game, but it's great what Houston's doing. By the way... I saw a YouTube video as Lee Corso dropped an "F" bomb in picking Houston over SMU. Still, it was funny seeing Lee Corso put on Shasta's head. Shasta is, of course, the UH mascot.

Congratulations to all winners; tough luck to all losers.

I hope Houston gets a shot. It looks like things are falling into place that way. Also, NC State made Liberty University look really good today, since Liberty barely lost to State, and State smashed Clemson today.

Let's make a checklist for Houston to be in the title game.

Alabama needs to lose to Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
A bunch of one loss teams (Stanford, Oklahoma State) need to drop to two, just in case.
Georgia needs to lose to Georgia Tech (to drop in the standings) and then beat LSU in the SEC championship game, just for extra chaotic fun :).

I can't think of anything else. It sounds so simple, all of that could very easily go down between now and the 3rd of December. This weekend will be remember for how the BCS discussion went wild, though.

I thrive on upsets, today and yesterday has been the most awesome weekend of football in a good while :).

I stayed up till 2 in the morning to see if Cal could pull the upset, but it looks like Lady Luck ran dry for the day. Great day of football, all around :).

Latest Top 10 in the BCS (just announced):

01 - LSU!
02 - Alabama
03 - Arkansas
04 - Oklahoma State
05 - Virginia Tech
06 - Stanford
07 - Boise State
08 - Houston!
09 - Oklahoma
10 - Oregon

! = undefeated

I think Houston still has inside track on a BCS Bowl if they win their final regular season game this weekend (at Tulsa). So they seem to be in a better non-automatic qualifier position than Boise State. Kirk Herbstreit came down hard talking about how voters just pay attention to scores and don't actually watch the games.

Thoughts on this Top 10? What would be YOUR top 10?

ECU just got name dropped with Arkansas State. Really? I hate the BCS. Houston is getting no love, they've beaten ECU, who has played 2 top 10 teams and almost beat both, they've beaten UCLA who is 2nd in the PAC-12 South, they should beat Tulsa, who played a monstrous schedule early on, and they beat SMU thoroughly, who beat TCU, who beat Boise.

In the words of Mrs. Boucher from The Waterboy, "The BCS is the devil!"

This week is Rivalry Week. Among other games: tonight's match is Texas at Texas A&M. There are still other matches like... I don't know, Ohio State at Michigan? The Houston Cougars will be at Tulsa for their final regular season game tomorrow afternoon.

Enjoy your college football as the postseason is around the corner!

THIS JUST IN...

Texas takes down Texas A&M 27-25 on a clutch field goal by Texas. Part of me says that Texas A&M got hosed by a bad Personal Foul call. So Texas pulls out the "W" by beating the Aggies and the 12th Man in College Station.

Will any more madness ensue this weekend? We shall see, won't we? :)

The Houston Cougars won 48-16 at the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The Coogs are now just waiting to see who they will play against from the Conference USA East in the C-USA title game next Saturday here in Houston.

Good luck to all other teams who played, are playing, or will play this weekend as of this post.

I'm pretty sure USM has long since clinched the East, John, since ECU and Marshall are tied for second.

My Pirates and the Thundering Herd of Marshall will meet in a matchup of 5-6 teams to decide who heads to a bowl game. Go Pirates!

I, meanwhile, am on the road to Chapel Hill to cheer on my Blue Devils of Duke in the sea of Carolina Blue. I have a feeling I'll be one of very few in Kenan Stadium sporting Duke blue. Go Devils!

Final week of the regular season :(. I'll miss you, football.

They finally did it- #15 Michigan knocks off Ohio State for the first time since 2003. It was a 40-34 victory for the blue and maize. Congratulations to all other winners of games that have concluded or are concluding as of the time of this post.

Go blue and congrats to wisconsin fans! (and everyone else whose teams won)

Has to be a bad Saturday for CAM... East Carolina just lost 34-27 in Overtime at Marshall, and Duke lost 37-21 at North Carolina. Sorry, man...

Yeah, heck of a car ride home with 5 Carolina fans. I'm not really hurt that ECU didn't make some random bowl game, but we sure could have used the extra month of practice.

Good season Duke, I'm happy we're getting better. You'll get that bowl game soon.

Good try ECU, I still love you guys to death. You almost made your 6th bowl game in a row, but you guys sure gave me and every other Pirate reasons to cheer hard and you still Painted 5 of 'em Purple. Can't wait for next year and more Pirate magic.

Just to make the sour ending to the season even sweeter, ECU's crappy secondary getting demoralized, as per usual, is now the #1 play on SportsCenter. Farewell Emanuel Davis, you will not be missed. I would need to take off my shoes to count how many times he got burned badly this year. Maybe next year we can get all of our ducks in a row and play some solid, mistake-free ball. Go Pirates, we love you through thick and thin.

GO BLUE. I'm so excited for this win. 'I'm from ohio'. Haha

Traitor ..... (I am just kidding with you). Actually, I see a lot of Maize and Blue here in Ohio.Ohio does have it's fair share of Michigan faithful.

First off ..... congrats to the Wolverines on finally getting one over on the Buckeyes, it's been a long time coming. You made it out of that slump and have risen back to the top of the Big 10. Fantastic season up there in Ann Arbor, great job 👍.

O.S.U gave it their best and just fell short. Ohhhhhhh, if Braxton Miller had not overthrown Devier Posey in the final moments, this would have had a different outcome. Posey had the DB burnt, it was off to the races. It just wasn't meant to be.This was Miller's problem all day, overthrown passes. Big pressure, big game, he choked it up. I will however give him credit for what he was able to do this year as a freshman QB. Getting thrown into the fire amongst all the turmoil surrounding the Bucks this year. It is what it is and we will have to deal with it.I do see Braxton Miller maturing as a QB.I see a lot of Denard Robinson in him.At first he (D. Robinson) could not hit the broad side of a barn from 20yds out, but he could run like hell. Robinson has since matured, now look at him, he's on top of his game. I see the same in Braxton Miller, inconsistent with passing, but he can scramble. Let him mature and he will come around. He should be alright.

Coaching wise, the rumours are spreading like wildfire that Urban Meyer will make his "official" announcement this Wednesday for the acceptance of head coach for the Bucks and Luke Fickell will step down and stay onboard as assistant head coach.Meyer has some work ahead of him, but I think he is the man that can turn it back around for the Buckeyes.

2012 college football ....... what's ahead, time will tell.

CAM - sorry to hear about E.Carolina. They had a good run at it, nothing to be ashamed of.👍

JOHN - if you or anybody (for that matter) would have told me at the beginning of the 2011 season that Houston would be 12-0 and end up being ranked in the top 10, I would have had to laugh. Banner Season down there in Texas. Way to go man 👍. I hope your Cougars can get a prestigious bowl game out of this stellar season and put C-USA on the map. Congrats to your Cougars John !!!!

And now, it's only fitting ........ Hail the Victors. Congrats once again to the Wolverines of Michigan.

EPIC FAIL OF THE WEEK:
Maryland losing at North Carolina State

Here is the box score to prove the point:
1st Qtr. - Maryland leads 14-7 over NC State
2nd Qtr. - Maryland leads 34-14 over NC State
3rd Qtr. - Maryland leads 41-21 over NC State
4th Qtr. - NC State beats Maryland 56-41, scoring five touchdowns in this quarter

The Terrapins should be ashamed of themselves after a performance like this. Only noise they've really made this season was with their uniforms. Their only wins were against the University of Miami and Towson. And here's something that will displease any Terps fan- Duke had a better season than you. Poor season of Maryland football.

This coming weekend will continue playoff football in other divisions, but Conference Championship football in FBS.
