Well I'm guessing the people egging his house probably didn't know that at the time, at least I'm hoping. People generally think Southerners aren't that bright, but we need a little more credit than that.

Even if they did, do you actually think that would have stopped them?

Yeah, I actually do. But maybe I'm an insatiable optimist. I know if I planned a prank and then caught wind of something like that I'd nip it in the bud.

For many people, that is the case. However, for a select group of school fans, none of that matters. The only thing that matters is their school winning. Anything that gets in that way of that should be criticized/ostracized/burned to the ground/insert asinine choice of ridicule/destruction.

Mine is Dick Vitale's reaction after Austin Rivers beat Carolina, but I'm biased .

He sounds like he's about to die in that one. Lol

The Buffalo Sabres radio announcer is crazy. A fight happens, and this is similar to what he says:

"(Player) AND (Player) ARE IN A SLOBBERKNOCKER AND THIS CROWD IS GOIN' BANANAS!"

News flash- Duke is no longer a basketball and lacrosse school. Hard to believe that Duke is only one win away from being Bowl eligible for the first time in about 18 years. All they have to do is win this weekend. One problem for the Blue Devils- AT Virginia Tech. VT is not the classic Hokies' squad, but it's still tough to play at Virginia Tech. Actually, Duke's schedule is pretty tough (games not listed in any particular order)- vs. North Carolina, at Florida State, and at Clemson among other games to close out the season. Good job to Duke so far.

That's the sad thing. We're 5-1, and I honestly don't know where win #6 will come from..

Set me straight if I screw up anything here (I likely will). Games this weekend include Texas vs. Oklahoma and Duke at Virginia Tech. Here are many more games to get you ready for this weekend of college football:

Again- set me straight if I made any typos or reported on wrong games. Any matches you looking forward to this weekend?

Well there is one typo, Oklahoma should always be ahead of Texas because well, Oklahoma is better than Texas.

This weekend's game to keep an eye on (IMO) - #3 South Carolina at #9 LSU

SC is on a mission. LSU has stumbled a few times this season. They have fallen down this season. Will they get back up or remain down ? I think it's make or break time for LSU. They lose this one, they may be in some hot water. Personally, I think LSU rebounds and knocks off #3 SC. It should be a good game, we'll see.

Hopefully we beat Memphis. Hopefully.

And I'll be very interested to see how Duke handles VT. They're on a down year, so we may need to win this one to get that magic number 6.

ECU has a long history of winning games we aren't supposed to, but also losing games we aren't supposed to. I agree with you, but there's still quite a real chance we don't show up. I always say, sometimes they just have trouble finding the tunnel onto the field.

College football has lost a major figure earlier today. Beano Cook, died at the age of 81 earlier today.

What is so surreal is that I was wondering about Beano Cook. You know, what he's up to and whatever. Then earlier this afternoon, I learned of his death. Very sad to learn of his passing. I know Beano Cook as a guy who loves college football and understands it completely. I remember watching him on ESPN and ESPNEWS when college football is the topic. His insight is amazing. That's how I will remember Beano Cook. How will YOU remember him?

I love that Notre Dame is actually good again. They say that Kelly takes 3 years to turn a program around, and well, looky-looky...

Their defense is clearly one of the best in the nation, but I wonder how it will match up with Stanford. Stanford brings a massive O-Line and and old-school power run game - which is pretty much night and day from Michigan and The U.

How many QBs will Notre Dame need to beat Stanford's D?

Sad loss. Thoughts, prayers, and best wishes to the Cook family.

Beano : "take this job and shove it"

Notre Dame is the real deal. Since some are predicting we meet them in the Fiesta Bowl, I wonder how Geno would do against them...

Speaking of Geno, SI's heisman rankings are released this week, and Geno is still numero uno. But a battle is brewing for that two spot between Kansas State QB Collin Klein and Ohio State QB Braxton Miller.

SI's rankings:

1. Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
2. Braxton Miller, QB, Ohio State
3. Collin Klein, QB, Kansas State
4. De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon
5. Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina
6. Matt Barkley, QB, USC
7. Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia

Ohio is Boise State 2.0. When the new playoff system comes around debates will be rising big time.

OSU is going to Indiana this weekend.
Indiana's defense is ranked last in the Big 10.
Braxton Miller is a 1 man wrecking ball.
Braxton Miller has a "field day" playing with the Hoosiers defense.
Braxton Miller pulls away from Collin Klein for the #2 spot.

Braxton Miller is not Heisman material yet. Noteworthy, but also is in need of some fine tuning. Looking forward to '13.

I think I have as much chance of winning the Heisman as Aaron Murray does.

Lot of games nationwide slated for Noon, Afternoon, and in the evening. Enjoy your college football today and tonight!

Notre Dame hosting Stanford. G\The game of the day for me no doubt. Son has a baseball tournament during the football game, so fire up the DVR!
