Speaking of long term football injuries, I wonder how Eric LeGrand is doing? I noticed that all the names on the back of Rutgers' jerseys in a game a couple weeks back said: "B.E.L.I.E.V.E.".
Pretty heartwarming.
Anywho, NEW BCS bowl predictions!
BCS National Championship Game - Pac 12 Champion (Oregon) vs. SEC Champion (Alabama)
The matchup is all about Bama's D vs. Oregon's O, a matchup of two of the best on their respective sides of the ball.
Face it, Bama. You can't stop De'Anthony Thomas. You can't. So, when they do pass the ball, play tight man/zone coverage annd get turnovers on the pass. You will be able to get the ball to McCarron and have him create something.
But like I said, "DAT" is unstoppable. Oregon wins.
Oregon 42 - Alabama 27
MVP: De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon
Fiesta Bowl - Big 12 Champion (Kansas State) vs. At-Large (Notre Dame)
Well, well, well, you expected WVU at this spot, didn't you? Well, I think they lose the game and K-State wins the conference title. Like Bama-Oreg, it's Collin Klein vs. Manti Te'o. Thing is, ND's secondary is pretty good, too. Then again, ND has no QB. =P
It will be a defensive battle. I think Te'o outperforms K-State LB Arthur Brown, but not Klein. Klein rushes in for a TD in the final minute to win.
Kansas State 24 - Notre Dame 17
MVP: Collin Klein, QB, Kansas State
Rose Bowl - Big 10 Champion (Northwestern) vs. At-Large (USC)
"What?! NORTHWESTERN IN THE ROSE BOWL? You gotta be kidding!"
It seems like I am, and I wish I was. Ohio State would've been put in this spot, but can't because of Terelle Pryor, and what the hell is going on in Ann Arbor? Northwestern, motivated by their first opportunity for a BCS bowl in god knows how long, win the conference in a sad year for the Big 10. Too bad they are playing USC, in Pasadena, in Matt Barkley's final game...
USC 45 - Northwestern 21
MVP: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
Orange Bowl - ACC Champion (Florida State) vs. Big East Champion (Rutgers)
Rutgers is on a motivational high at the moment. This season has been dedicated to LeGrand, which it should be, and I don't blame them. Florida State sees Rutgers as that pesky little fly that they want Chief Osceola to spear. Florida State has to be careful: Rutgers is nearly identical to NC State, added with enormous amounts of motivation. Florida State can easily win as easily as they can lose. Florida State manages to pull it out, but not by much.
Florida State 30 Rutgers 24
MVP: E.J. Manuel, QB, Florida State
Sugar Bowl - At-Large (Florida) vs. At-Large (Oklahoma)
Both of these teams are scary. Florida's D can chomp you if you aren't careful. Question is, can Landry Jones keep poised throughout the game, even with limited receiving corps? It's the "Bradford protege's" time to step up. And he delivers in fantastic fashion.
Oklahoma 34 - Florida 24
MVP: Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma
