It's sad that Duke is going to lose after leading the whole game. So now I'll have to spend my evening picking up crap I've thrown around the house and sharing the despair of the seniors that never got to beat Carolina.

Tears of joy. That bell being painted Duke blue is one of the most beautiful sights my eyes have ever beheld..

What in DA HELL happened?!?

Well Carolina took the lead on a fumble return (Carolina fumbled, not us) touchdown. Only problem is that Duke recovered and nobody bothered to blow the play dead. And then after being stagnant for the entire second half, Renfree drives us down the field and throws the game winning TD on 4th down with 11 seconds left. Then those non-homework doing, extra benefit-taking, arrogant pieces of baby blue bushmeat carried their still-stinging rear ends out of our stadium while the students stormed the field and painted our new prize the correct shade of blue.

And Cincinnati ruined that chance of an epic match-up next week by losing to Toledo 29-23.

Rutgers SHOULD move up in the BCS standings to at least 13th if not higher. I believe that staying undefeated will hold higher precedence than a 2 loss team from any conference.

I saw most of the end of the UNC at Duke game. Let me say this- congrats to your Blue Devils, CAM. Nice to see them pull out a victory they way they did. I don't think it could have been patterned any better- be Bowl Eligible by beating your rival. I don't care what school you like in FBS... that's a hell of an accomplishment.

As for Cincy falling to Toledo at Toledo, that's pretty sad. And I agree that Rutgers should climb up the rankings after their win at Temple. Last I remember Rutgers being on a roll, some guy named Ray Rice was on a tear. If they haven't played each other yet, I want to see what happens when Rutgers meets Louisville on November 29.

K-State at West Virginia was a game I thought would be a knock-down, drag-out brawl. Only thing is... WVU got roughed up- again. I'm sorry to Mountaineer nation on this horrific loss.

Congratulations to all other winners from this week's games.

Fixed for you John.

I did watch Purdue push Ohio State to OT - the Boilers gave it away in regulation..

Needs a little fixing :)
I did watch Purdue push Ohio State to OT - the Buckeyes let Purdue hang out with them in regulation,

 to Kenny Guiton. The backup QB came in following a Braxton Miller injury and led the Bucks to this win. BTW Braxton is doing fine ..... whew !

During the fourth quarter, an ambulance brought Miller to Ohio State's on-campus medical facility. Ohio State said after the game that Miller was taken to the university's on-campus medical center because of concerns of a possible concussion.
After he was examined by the staff at Wexner Medical Center, Ohio State found that Miller was "symptom free of all ailments" and was "doing fine."
"He is in the process of being released from the hospital," university spokesman Jerry Emig said.

55-14, in Morgantown. What a disgrace.

You sure as hell did not need this to happen ...... sorry man. :boggled:

Agreed, they should be bumped up. BUT - we are talking about the BCS. We all know how the BCS works. IT SUCKS ! The little guys will never get that big shot game ..... sadly. 👎

Bucks are now 8 - 0 , a sketchy 8 - 0, but we are there. Not that it means anything this year, but it still looks good. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Purdue is one of those teams you never know about, the records mean nothing. The Boilermakers took it to the Buckeyes in Columbus, forcing an OT period. Bucks pull it out 29 - 22. Up next Penn State.

Speaking of PSU, they are the 2nd best team in the Big 10. After a dismal start, the Nittany Lions have gotten their act together are are playing some impressive football. They hammered Iowa yesterday 38 - 14.

The battle of Michigan saw the Wolverines hosting their interstate rival Spartans. The Wolverines had to rely on the foot of Brendan Gibbons with 5 seconds to go in regulation, a 38 yard FG to cap off this victory.

*Nebraska tops Northwestern 29 - 28 This hurts NWU - helps Nebraska.
*Wisconsin rips on Minnesota 38 - 13 Wisconsin is coming to life after a rough start.
*Notre Dame hangs on to beat BYU 17 - 14 Dame still in the mix of it all. 👍
*LSU hangs on to beat Texas A&M 29 - 14
*Texas Tech over TCU 56 - 53 ..... (in 3 OT's) :nervous:
*'Bama still playing hard, 44 - 13 over Tennessee Can anybody beat 'Bama this year ?

Early AP poll

AP still ranks South Carolina ahead of Rutgers, yet Louisville moves ahead of them. Ridiculous the remaining SEC bias. If Rutgers had a loss I'd understand but a 2 loss team over an undefeated team this late is inexcusable.

Not if you're only commenting on the final minute or so like I was.

Ahhhhh, that final minute or so. :nervous: from both sides.

Guiton throws an interception, gives Purdue the ball with 2:47 left on the clock. Here's where it gets interesting. With 2:47 left, one would think that Purdue can run the clock out. Pick up a 1st down, lay down, game over, Boilermakers win. Or so it very well could have been ? Should have been ? In this case, who does one fault ? Purdue. They could not pick up a critical 1st down at the most important time of the game. Do we really want to blame Purdue for not being able to perform in that last 2 minutes, or do we praise the Bucks defense for shutting them down, giving the OSU offense one more shot at winning ? Kind of tricky view from my standpoint. In all essence, I feel I need to point the finger at Purdue, but yet I'll give kudos to the Bucks D. So yes, I can see where your coming from concerning that last fatal minute or so.

Lets look at this now. OSU gets the ball back. Obviously the threat of Braxton Miller busting on off is out the window. So now the offense has to rely on a back-up QB, who by no standards is a rushing QB. Purdue needs to key up on Devin Smith, which they did not. Smith hauls in a key 39 yard reception, giving the Bucks some more life. Ultimately, OSU goes on to score, forcing the OT. Who's to blame again ? The Purdue defense. They knew, hell everybody knew that Devin Smith was going to be a key is this last ditch effort for the Bucks. Kudos to the Bucks, or point the finger at Purdue ? Points the finger at Purdue again, they blew the assignment. Granted, they (Purdue) could have stepped it up a notch and thwarted the OSU drive, thus saving the victory for themselves. It was not meant to be I guess. So again, I can side with you to a degree on this.

OSU's record may reflect as being 8 - 0, but trust me, this is not an 8 - 0 team. They have had their windfalls on occasion this year. Expect a tight one this weekend from the surging PSU Nittany Lions.

Boy oh boy .... don't we all love polls ? NOT !!! It will be interesting to see what the BCS poll says when it comes out. Unless your in the SEC, ACC, BIG 10, PAC 10 or are one of the big boy schools on the block, you may as well forget about ever seeing a smaller school in a BCS Championship game, or some other really prestigious Bowl Game. Which to me, really does suck ... big time. Instead, smaller teams get to go to the "Who gives a 🤬 Bowl". Sad, really sad the way this pans out.

Geno would have 100 TDs by now if he only played his own D. Oh well, at least Pitt still sucks.

To make the week pass easier for us college football fans, how about some trivia? I'll start. No Googleing for sake of competition.

Question: Who was the first and only team ever to start a season 6-0 and finish 0-6?

Alright, time to get ready for the BCS Standings.
1. Alabama
2. Florida
3. Kansas State
4. Oregon
5. Notre Dame
6. Louisiana State
7. Oregon State
8. Oklahoma
9. Southern California
10. Georgia
11. Mississippi State
12. Florida State
13. South Carolina
14. Texas Tech
15. Rutgers
16. Louisville
17. Stanford
18. Clemson
19. West Virginia
20. Texas A&M
21. Boise State
22. Michigan
23. Texas
24. Ohio
25. Wisconsin

I'm sorry but South Carolina and West Virginia are way too high here.

Agreed, but WHAT IN THE HELL IS OREGON DOING AT #4!?!?!1ONE¡?Q@#$&

Its an argument either way. Kansas State should be in the top 3 and Florida has played really well. Right now though what may help Oregon for next week is if Oregon State wins by a large margin and Oklahoma squeaks by Notre Dame, could put 2 PAC-12 Teams in the top 5.

If I don't see Oregon at #2 and Florida at #4, I may punch a kitten.

I feel like that was the attitude in '07..

Meh, kinda. I likely just jinxed myself. We play Kansas, the worst team in the conference, the last game of the year.

The answer? I guess.

It was the 2011 Illinois Fighting Illini, aka my second team. Ron Zook was on cloud nine at the midway point: 6-0, and a top 20 ranking, with a possibility of a BCS bowl. They lost the next six and had to go into overtime to beat UCLA in the Fight Hunger Bowl. Zook was fired.

If noone gives out a question, here it is. If you have one, speak up.

Cam, this is for you.

Chris Johnson placed second in Florida High School 100m State Chanpionship. Who beat him? (Hint: He was an Olympian)

I know this as well, wasn't it the guy who finished third in the 100 in London? I should know this...

No, Gatlin. Googled his name, but just in the 100m final article.

Knew it was something like that.

Bill Snyder of K-State and Steve Spurrier of South Carolina are two of three oldest active FBS coaches, name the third.
