What stunned me about Florida State at Clemson was just how much Florida State was able to just take the crowd out of the game and just slap around Clemson like they were a High School team. On Clemson's Facebook fan page, I saw something about Clemson trying to challenge the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs in having louder decibels from the fans. Clemson's Memorial Stadium was rocking! Almost like a big nightclub party or a rock concert. ABC/ESPN even shown all the pageantry with the players loading the buses and coming out to touch the rock before heading down the field. Clemson brings the excitement, for sure. Well, to some people, maybe Clemson and their fans should have worried more about taking down a highly-ranked team rather than challenge some silly record. I'm not even sure Clemson would have beaten Florida State if this was a Best of 3 series.

The Florida State at Clemson game was still a heavyweight fight. To use an MMA analogy, this is like when one MMA fighter throws a haymaker to his/her opponent, knocks that person to the ground, jumps on top of him/her, and keeps pounding away until the ref stops the fight. That's what Florida State's cremation of Clemson was like.

DOWN GOES TEXAS A&M!
#24 Auburn just upset #7 Texas A&M 45-41 in College Station, TX.
#14 Missouri defeats #22 Florida at home
Vanderbilt stunning #15 Georgia in Nashville
#9 UCLA goes up to #13 Stanford and lose at the Cardinal.

This will shake up the guy crunching those BCS stats into the computer. We are starting to see teams fall week by week now, who will be the next to fall ?

Sadly also... Houston is no longer unbeaten. UH had too many dumb penalties and an almost nonexistant secondary to end up losing 47-46. Only good news is that BYU is not a conference opponent. It still hurts to lose like this.

5-1 is still a great start. Nothing to be ashamed of.

DOWN GOES CLEMSON!
Add LSU to the "DOWN GOES... !" list along with the likes of Texas A&M, Louisville, and other highly-ranked teams that fell this week. They couldn't hang with Ole Miss at Ole Miss thanks to a clutch field goal by the Rebels.

More stuff for the numbers crunching man to deal with.

Told you guys Clemson was overrated.

:confused: Where and when did you say that ?

On the subject of the BCS, the years first set has just been released.
Take a peek. Do you like what you see ?

How about Mizzou ... unreal. Silently creeping up into the BCS rankings at #5. These guys started the season unranked. Slowly but surely, week by week, little by little they inched themselves into the top 5. Sweet to see these guys up there.

Maybe I haven't said it here. I dunno. But I've said it to everyone around me when talking about college football. :lol:

FSU #2 now though. Lol ducks.

Lol ducks.

:lol: How about those pink helmets on the black uniform ?

Mmmmmmm, definitely different. Ah well, the Pink, it's all for a good cause.

After what FSU did to Clemson, I think we all saw that one coming. Shoot right up the poll.

I honestly don't think Oregon gets enough credit. But maybe that's just me. Tennessee is playing well every week, and that's really the only compass we have to judge the Ducks with. I don't know how much more they could have shown against the Vols.

Well 'Bama plays Tennessee is next then the big one LSU then an supposedly "easy" week against Miss. State. Good news for us though one of our best defensive players is back. Man was he playing too. Ha-Ha Clinton Dix is back and was making a statement. It is a good thing he is off suspension too. We have some games that at the begginning of the season were easy and don not seem that way now.

You know what? It may be time to take Missouri seriously. Not even I thought Mizzou would take down Florida this past weekend. Their BCS Top-5 is well-deserved. So we got this: Alabama, Oregon, Florida State, Ohio State, and Missouri as the BCS Top 5. Really, I think you can interchange Oregon and Florida State. Both of them are easily deserving of their high rankings.

I didn't watch the Washington-Arizona State game this last week, but the final score is embarrassing.

What happened?

I guess I'll speak bluntly (sorry Crash), they got they ass handed to them. It does happen to everybody. On any given Saturday, anyone can get beat. Look at last week, some big boys took a shot on the chin. It's a tough pill to swallow at times, but it is what it is, it's college football.

I had / still do have hopes for the Huskies. There is a lot of time left in the season, they can still make the best of it.

Good Luck.

Lets do some Mizzou Tiger talk. Flying under the radar, they have landed themselves into a comfortable spot. Question being, can they hang on to it ? A legitimate contender ? I think so.

Here is what is ahead for those Tigers of Mizzou.

South Carolina
Tennessee
Kentucky
Ole Miss
Texas A&M

This could be a rough ride for the Tigers, but then again, they may set it on cruise control and blow through the remainder of this schedule. Just how good are these Tigers, I think they are the real deal. I'll call them out and say that they win against Tenn. - Kentucky - Ole Miss. They should / could win against S. Carolina. A&M, damn, this is a tough call. This could be the straw that breaks the Tigers back. We'll see about this one.

Best of luck goes out to Mizzou.

*still contends that the Ducks should be #1* :lol:

I happened to have someone today during 2nd block that Sunseri is hurt. This is a BIG blow to 'Bama that could be a big blow to the lower extremities for us. Lets just hope Belue and someone else can step and help guide the defense.

College football this week begins tonight in the Sun Belt. Good old Southern football as the 4-2 Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns take on the 3-3 Red Wolves of Arkansas State (which I've always known as the Arkansas State Indians before the name change).

I looked at the remaining schedule for Missouri, and here's what they have left:

Oct. 26: South Carolina
Nov. 2: Tennessee
Nov. 9: at Kentucky
Nov. 23: at Ole Miss
Nov. 30: Texas A&M

It's possible the Missouri Tigers can go 4-0 before their date with Texas A&M. The Missouri/TAMU game would be a battle between ex-Big XII foes. These are some solid opponents. Even playing at Kentucky is a tricky proposition. I think if they run the table- including beating Texas A&M, part of me says they may play in a BCS Bowl game. If they want to play for a title, they're going to need LOTS of help. Let's say each of the current Top 5 in the BCS all picked up one or more losses each. Would you vault Missouri ahead of the likes of Ohio State, Florida State, or even Oregon if the aforementioned three picked up a loss or two? What if Alabama were to be defeated in addition to those three? Missouri looks REALLY good, but good enough to be a title contender? The jury is still out on that.

Here are the remaining schedules for each of the Top 5 excluding Missouri (@ = away game):

1 - Alabama: Tennessee, @ #13 LSU, @Mississippi State, Chattanooga, @ #11 Auburn
2 - Oregon: #12 UCLA, @ #6 Stanford, Utah, @Arizona, #25 Oregon State
3 - Florida State: North Carolina State, #7 Miami, @Wake Forest, Syracuse, Idaho, @Florida
4 - Ohio State: Penn State, @Purdue, @Illinois, Indiana, @ #22 Michigan

Anything can still happen at this point.

Lets add to this Missouri mix of things. What if (and this is a long shot, but possible), what if the top 5 teams run the table ... 12-0 ? Now the concoction really gets stirred up. Who would jump who ? Who gets what ?

Strength of schedule (IMHO), that Oregon should roll into the #1 spot should it come down to this. Look at who they have left, 3 out of the 5 remaining games are against ranked opponents. Should they roll past everyone, I see no reason as to why the Ducks can't snatch away the #1 spot. I'm not digging against 'Bama, they are a deserving team, but the schedule lies in favor of the Ducks, should they run the table.

Your right John, Mizzou is going to need some help getting to the very top. They need the top 4 to get knocked off somewhere down the line. This should, (key word there), get them into the #1 ranking, or would it ? Interesting scenario working here. Could a 1 loss team, 'Bama - OSU - FSU - Oregon, hell, lets throw Stanford into this mix as well, rank higher than an undefeated Mizzou Tiger team ? Interesting, we'll see.

There is plenty of good and exciting stuff coming up in these last 5 weeks of College Football. Stay tuned, it's gonna get interesting.

Get ready for the weekend! Here is what is coming up:

TONIGHT...
* Marshall (4-2) at Middle Tennessee State (3-4)
* Kentucky (1-5) at Mississippi State (3-3)

FRIDAY NIGHT...
* Boise State (5-2) at BYU (5-2)

(SOME OF) SATURDAY...
* Connecticut at #23 UCF
* #24 Nebraska at Minnesota
* #19 Oklahoma State at Iowa State
* Houston at Rutgers (JohnBM01 vs. Blitz24 special!)
* #20 Louisville at South Florida
* Pittsburgh at Navy
* #9 Clemson at Maryland
* Eastern Michigan at #18 Northern Illinois
* Duke at #14 Virginia Tech
* North Carolina State at #2 Florida State
* Tennessee at #1 Alabama
* #10 Texas Tech at #15 Oklahoma
* UTEP at Rice
* #12 UCLA at #3 Oregon
* #21 South Carolina at #5 Missouri
* #8 Baylor at Kansas
* Penn State at #4 Ohio State
* #6 Stanford at #25 Oregon State

These are among MANY other games this weekend. No matter who your favorite team(s) is/are, good luck to all of your teams this weekend.

Go Middle Tennessee!

Marshall needs a loss for us to be back in the driver's seat.

There are some good games on the slate for this weekend.

1st off, an inner GTP rivalry - JohnBM01 (Houston) -vs- Blitz24 (Rutgers Scarlet Knights)
Good luck to both of you.

#5 Mizzou gets a test this weekend against #21 S. Carolina. Can Mizzou stay on the roll that they are on ?

Game of the week ??? ..... #12 UCLA pays a visit to #3 Oregon. This will be a goodie.

Tennessee pays a visit to #1 Alabama. The Volunteers are not a pushover team. Preliminary upset alert ? Meh, sort of unlikely, but yet not out of the question.

#10 Texas Tech and #15 Oklahoma will do battle this weekend in Norman.

#13 LSU at home should be able to rebound from their last weeks loss and manhandle Furman.

After a huge win, and climbing up to #2, FSU will host N.C. State. FSU making a push at the #1 spot will not go easy on the Tarheels.

#6 Stanford will take a trip up to Oregon to square off against the Beavers. Stanford is climbing back into the race . Don't discount the Beavers, they should give Stanford a game.

Northwestern (after starting 4-0) will try to get back on the winning side of things after dumping their last 3 games. The Wildcats will head into Hawkeye Country (same team that shook OSU last week) and attempt to get back on the winning path. Should be an old fashioned classic B1G battle.

The struggling men of Troy (USC) should be able to handle the Utah Utes in the coliseum this weekend. A much needed win for the Trojans this weekend.

The Huskies of Washington will do some battle with the Cal Golden Bears. It would be nice to see the Huskies pull one off against the Bears ... here's hoping.

Another preliminary upset alert ... Columbus Ohio ? Penn State will go into Columbus on a major high after knocking off Michigan last week in hopes of knocking off the #4 OSU Buckeyes. The Bucks will shoot for 20 straight wins in a row. Can the Nittany Lions be the one to end this streak ? Penn State always sort of puts me on edge.

The way things have been going lately, you have to wonder one thing.

WHO WILL GO DOWN THIS WEEKEND ? :nervous:

Best of luck to your team(s) this weekend. :cheers:

We NEED to do well this game. We've just been womped in the past two games, and lost the past 3.

Fingers crossed. Here's to hoping things go well.

Good luck to all and good luck to your teams this weekend. :cheers:

Enjoy your college football, folks. Games either about to get underway or are underway as of the time of this post.

Well the RED team won. Yeah, that is what Tennessee was calling us. They were saying that we werent worthy of being called 'Bama. Well, I wonder if that 45-10 whooping changes their minds?

Rutgers embarrassed themselves during homecoming. Cannot get blown out like that and expect to impress anyone in the Big 10. Looks like the doormat status will be reapplied to them.

So, uh... yeah. My Cougars won 49-14 at Rutgers. I saw most of the first half of my kitties putting up some good offense. They still need to cut down on penalties from games I've seen of UH. Hands down, the coolest moment of the game that I saw was a wicked touchdown grab where one player grabbed the ball away from his body with two hands, then shifted it over to his right hand while staying inbounds. It was a hell of a grab to be frank. The University of Houston is now 6-1 on the season. Up next is a battle against one of our old Conference USA foes- South Florida. Oh, and that game is on Halloween night. I'm hoping we get treated and not tricked.

As for Rutgers, they are still a very good team. I actually had Houston maybe losing a close game after the close loss last weekend hosting BYU. Rutgers isn't going to be a doormat in the Big Ten (or B1G). I think and hope they'll maybe surprise some teams next season. But still, sorry, Blitz24. Good luck to your Scarlet Knights moving forward.

Elsewhere...

* Duke upset #14 Virginia Tech at VT. No- this is not the college basketball thread. This is college football, and the Blue Devils beat VT in their house. That is NOT easy to do. I think it was 14-10 in favor of Duke University. So I know this will make our CAM very happy.

* How did Duke's best friends do? Well, North Carolina slapped around Boston College at home. It was 34-10 in Chapel Hill.

* Clemson managed to bounce back after their evisceration by Florida State last weekend by hammering sorry Maryland.

* I didn't see all of it, but I managed to catch West Virginia at Kansas State. I usually love the blue and gold colors of WVU as much as I do the blue and gold of California. However, those were pretty ugly uniforms the Mountaineers were sporting today. I didn't like them. K-State probably didn't like them either as they won 35-12 at home over WVU.

* Utah didn't really enjoy Los Angeles hospitality as USCal took good care of Utah.

* "The U" managed to hold off Wake Forest with a 24-21 win. The Miami Hurricanes

* Also winning 24-21 was Navy at home over Pittsburgh.

* It took overtime for Iowa to knock off Northwestern at home 17-10.

* Houston won, and so did Houston's other FBS team- 45-7 beating Rice gave UTEP here in Houston.

Congratulations to all other winners up to and beyond the time of this post.

Cutcliffe is doing quite a job. I'll admit I was quite spirited trying to watch the ugly second half of that game.

I was sure Duke was going to give it away.

So Jerry Kill goes on medical leave and the Gophers go 2-0 against teams that should have destroyed us based on recent performance(Northwestern & Nebraska). Not sure what to make of that...

Jerry Kill's health always concerns me. I just hope the fellow is alright and is healthy. Is it just me... or does it seem the least bit awkward for a guy with the last name of Kill has health problems? All I ever tend to hear or read is about Jerry Kill having some kind of seizure or something. I do give him credit for still being with the team and still doing his best to get his boys ready for the game.

Missouri is upset 27-24 by South Carolina. I was watching until the second overtime and left to run by wally world. So that is another undefeated team going down. Let us see who is next.

If I'm thinking correctly, I do believe we are now down to 7 unbeatens ? Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

'Bama
FSU
Oregon
Ohio State
Miami (Fl)
Baylor
Fresno State

Who can run the table and capture the glory of an undefeated season ?
Things are heating up as we are heading into the stretch of the '13 season. We'll see who can do what.

You are mistaken. Northern Illinois is undefeated as well (as John notes).

That sneaky Mac School, forgot about them. Who seen this one coming, NIU is cruising.

Thanks Blitz.
