Could anyone post the schedule for NIU? I want to see who they have played. Also, FSU and Miami game this week so we will see another unbeaten team go down this week no matter what.

Per your request, here is Northern Illinois' season so far (Home victory in CAPITAL LETTERS):

Aug. 31: at Iowa (30-27, Northern Illinois)
Sep. 14: at Idaho (45-35, Northern Illinois)
Sep. 21: Eastern Illinois (43-39, NORTHERN ILLINOIS)
Sep. 28: at Purdue (55-24, Northern Illinois)
Oct. 5: at Kent State (38-24, Northern Illinois)
Oct. 12: Akron (27-20, NORTHERN ILLINOIS)
Oct. 19: at Central Michigan (38-17, Northern Illinois)
Oct. 26: Eastern Michigan (59-20, NORTHERN ILLINOIS)
Nov. 2: at Massachusetts
Nov. 13: Ball State
Nov. 20: at Toledo
Nov. 26: Western Michigan

NIU is 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the MAC conference.

Unless Miami at Florida State ends up being a like Florida State at Clemson, Miami at Florida State is going to be a great match. All Hell is going to break loose in Tallahassee when two of Florida's finest football teams collide this Saturday in Tallahassee.

I can see NIU easily going 11-1 and a good shot at 12-0. Only real tough matchup is vs. Ball State.

Thank you John. This was very helpful. Now the question will be could they match up to the big name powerhouses like: Alabama,Oregon,Stanford,Ohio State,etc. The reason being if they do go 11-1 or 12-0 they will most likely be in a BCS bowl and by looking at their schedule they might get blown out. So they might just be a team that does well in regular season and conference championships because of their strength of schedule. Then in the bowl season get the score ran up by a big name school. That is what I think will most likely happen. Still, a 11-1 or 12-0 season is phenomenal.

I can see NIU "possibly" running the table here. I have to agree with Blitz, Ball State "could" be the only one standing in their way of a perfect season. Good luck to NIU, hoping they can run the table and put the MAC in the spotlight.

Sooooo right John, all hell is going to break loose in Tallahassee. However, the hell being raised (IMO) will be the Seminoles taming the Hurricanes into nothing more than a tropical depression. FSU is out to make a statement, and have done so, up to this point. Personally, I can see Jameis Winston dicing up that Miami secondary. Granted, Miami has climbed up into the rankings at #7, but they have been exposed over the last couple of weeks, they have been shaken and have showed signs of struggling lately. With that, I see FSU rolling, adding to their bid at getting to the #1 spot.

*just my .02 speculation* LOL : )

A lot remains to be seen yet. This is college football, and strange things do happen. I can see your point though. It sucks to see a Bowl Game where you have a powerhouse going up against the little guy. As you stated, generally, the little guy gets smoked bad. Then the naysayers start their babbling. " How the hell did A.B.C make it to a bowl game anyways and have to be forced to play against X.Y.Z. You had to know A.B.C did not have a snowballs chance in hell of beating X.Y.Z" Yeah, yeah, yeah, what-ever ..... It's just the way it so happens to fall. Hopefully in '14 when the playoffs become implemented, we can see a better system in place to remedy such things.

I did find this slightly amusing. A preliminary BCS Bowl projection. (LINK)

And now some O.S.U. Buckeye rambling ...

We are in the trick bag, seriously in the trick bag. Going off of what is happening in CFB, we in reality don't have a shot of hurdling 'Bama, FSU, Oregon. We may even get passed up by others in the process. Our remaining strength of schedule is literally going to become our downfall. Yes, I can see the Buckeyes running the table (12-0), but this year we may see a 12-0 team going to the Rose Bowl. We've got 1 more "presently ranked" opponent to go against ... yes, that school from up North. This just isn't enough to get us there. If O.S.U is going to make a serious bid at the BCS NC Game, we are going to need some help getting there. The top 3 will have to get knocked off somewhere down the line and the Bucks would have to literally demoralize the rest of their remaining opponents along the way (shades of the PSU thumping last weekend). Even at that, it still may not be enough. An 11-1 team - maybe (2) 11-1 teams may duke it out at the BCS, leaving an undefeated team behind in the dust ? A lot remains to be seen as the rest of the season transpires. It may be a tough road ahead of us to make it, but I can still hold faith in the Bucks. I'd love nothing more than to see the The O.S.U. Buckeyes on the main dance floor in January.

Here's hoping for a BCS National Championship shot.

Make no mistake about it. The MAC is not some sorry conference. If you follow college basketball, MAC football is almost like Missouri Valley basketball. So Northern Illinois can make plenty of noise unless they fall apart.

The dream sort of situation for Ohio State to have a BCS National Championship game berth would be if all of the teams ahead of the Buckeyes in the BCS rankings all lose a game. That's even if, say... Alabama loses either a game or if Alabama maybe loses in the SEC Championship game (assuming they get there). Then again, it makes for the classic "would you put Ohio State ahead of a 1-loss SEC team?" argument. Would you put Ohio State ahead of Oregon and Florida State if either or both of those teams lost a game? I really do like Ohio State's chances of maybe playing for a National Championship in this final BCS season. I don't think the Buckeyes would need as much help as Missouri would have needed had Missouri remained unbeaten. That Braxton Miller guy needs to keep delivering for his team. To use baseball terms, the Buckeyes on offense, defense, and special teams need to give proper run support for Braxton Miller to help push the Buckeyes ahead.

Most of the games will take place this weekend in perhaps the most crucial month of college football (or at least, the regular season)- November. Still a long ways to go before we sort everything out.

I don't believe Miami v. FSU will be close if Miami plays the way they have the last two weeks they will get run out of the building. I hope it is a close game though

This week of college football begins tonight. Coming up:

TONIGHT:
* A cat fight in Memphis between two former C-USA schools: Cincinnati's Bearcats at the Memphis Tigers.

THURSDAY NIGHT (HALLOWEEN):
* H-Town Halloween- Houston Cougars host the Bulls of South Florida. Yep- two more ex-Conference USA schools.

* The other Houston school- Rice, goes up north to battle the Mean Green of North Texas.

* Troy hosts Louisiana-Monroe in this Sun Belt clash.

* Arizona State heads to the Pacific Northwest to battle the Cougars of Washington State.

FRIDAY:
* The USCal Trojans head up to Corvalis to meet the Oregon State Beavers.

(SOME OF) SATURDAY:
* Florida will win, but WHICH Florida school? Miami at Florida State.

* State pride on the line in Michigan as Michigan plays at Michigan State for the Paul Bunyan Trophy.

* More state pride on the line- North Carolina at North Carolina State.

* Can Massachusetts derail the BCS hopes of Northern Illinois when NIU heads to Amherst, MA?

* Rutgers hopes to rebound at home after losing to Houston when they host Temple.

* Commander-in-Chief implications are up as Army goes to Air Force.

* Notre Dame hosts Navy. Both rock blue and gold, but one of these blue and gold teams will win.

* It's the game formerly called The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Georgia vs. Florida in Jacksonville.

* The Green Wave of Tulane looks to improve to 5-0 in conference when they head to Boca Raton to take on Florida Atlantic.

* The Pirates of East Carolina will sail into Miami to take on Florida International and their Golden Panthers.

* Oklahoma State heads down to Texas Tech.

So there you have it. Good luck to all your teams this week.

Here is what's left for the top 5 ranked teams (as of posting ... tentatively ranked - subject to change)

#1 Alabama
Hosting #13 LSU
Visiting unranked Mississippi State
Hosting Chattanooga
Visiting #11 Auburn

LSU and Auburn would love nothing more than to be the spoiler(s). Can either one do it ? 'Bama steamrolls past Miss. State and Chattanooga

#2 Oregon
Visiting #5 Stanford
Hosting Utah
Visiting Arizona
Hosting Oregon State

I can only see 1 remaining tests here, hmmmm possibly 2 ... #5 Stanford and Arizona, a team you can't count out.

#3 Florida State
Hosting #7 Miami
Visiting Wake Forest
Hosting Syracuse
Hosting Idaho
Visiting Florida

I can see them running the table. Making a serious bid for the BCS. Very stout / solid team.

#4 Ohio State
Visiting Purdue
Visiting Illinois
Hosting Indiana
Visiting #21 Michigan

Runs the table, but gets left standing outside looking in. They are going to need help along the way to reach the bid for the BCS. (IMO)

#5 Stanford
Hosting #2 Oregon
Visiting USC
Hosting Cal
Hosting #25 Notre Dame

Should / probably get beat by the #2 Oregon, and then try to come off of that loss and attempt to beat a topsy turvy USC in the Coliseum. Could be tough for the Cardinals. Baylor may just slide on here, or farther up.

Lets see what happens.

Best of luck to your team(s) this weekend.

We won 35-23 against South Florida. The University of Houston is now 4-0 in conference and 7-1 overall. Next... its gets potentially ugly- at Central Florida next Saturday followed by a date at Louisville the following Saturday. Both of these games could go a long way in determining if Houston could possibly win the AAC conference title. Houston is going to really be tested now.

But for now... we'll (obviously) take the win against South Florida. I think USF now fell to a 2-6 overall record on the season.

[UDPATE] I wanted to add some extra stats to this update. Let me introduce you to someone. The guy taking over for David Piland (retired from football after concussion concerns) is a guy named John O'Korn. He's apparently been a beast QB for one of the best High School football programs in America- St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Fort Lauderdale, Florida). John O'Korn tonight went 22-27 on passes and accounted for 267(?) yards and 3 touchdowns in this game. John O'Korn is a pretty good QB. Maybe not explosive like Kevin Kolb or Case Keenum, but he's good.

Congrats to the Cougars John. I was watching that game up until the halfway point of the second quarter. They were steam rolling it seemed.

First Saturday of November. Enjoy today's action and tonight's action. Good luck to all of your teams.

[UPDATE] Almost forgot... don't forget to set your clocks BACK one hour this weekend!

Best... if you're a Seminoles fan. It's 35-14, Florida State heading into the 4th. Hurricanes will need to get into Beast Mode if they are to turn this one around.

The ACC battle in Tallahassee fell in favor of the FSU Seminoles. The Seminoles took it to the Hurricanes by a final score of 42-14. I think a lot of people seen this one coming. The first half was a good old knock drown drag out battle, 21-14 FSU at the break. The second half came along, FSU throttled up on defense / offense and said goodbye to their interstate rival.

All in all, it was a good game. FSU is definitely looking like a strong contender. With the #1 and #2 teams off this past weekend, one has to wonder, can FSU jump up or remain idle at the #3 spot. More than likely, they will remain where they are at. We'll see.

Misc. ramblings ...

#4 OSU Buckeyes visited West Lafayette Indiana (Purdue) this weekend. It was a very brief visit at that. The starting lineup played 2 quarters and were done. The Bucks took a 42-0 lead into the locker room at the half ... never looked back. This kind of a blowout victory is just what the Buckeyes needed, and need to keep doing if they want to impress. This gave Coach Urban Meyer even more opportunity to see how deep this Buckeye team is. The 2nd,3rd,4th stringers earned some more playing time this weekend. Gotta say, we do have some talent waiting in the next room.

The battle for Michigan. The Paul Bunyun trophy on the line. #22 Michigan state would have nothing to do with the visiting #21 interstate rival Michigan Wolverines. The Spartans tamed the Wolverines 29-6.

Do you believe in Hail Mary's ? The Nebraska Cornhuskers do. As time expired, back-up QB Ron Kellogg III tossed one up for grabs (49 yds.) to be caught by Jordan Westerkamp. Final Nebraska 27 / Northwestern 24.

#8 Clemson rolls over Virginia 59-10
#17 NIU (Northern Illinois) continued on with their winning ways. They hammered Massachusetts 63-19.
#9 Mizzou rebounds nicely after last weeks devastating loss. The bounced over Tennesee 31-3.
#20 UCLA took care of some business as they defeated the Colorado Buffalos 45-23.
Johnny Football and his 12th ranked Texas A&M Aggies manhandled UTEP 57-7.
#16 Fresno State continues on their winning ways as well. 41-23 over Nevada.
#18 Oklahoma State defeats #15 Texas Tech 52-34.

Week 11 will see some more great College Football games on Thursday :
#2 Oregon will do battle with #5 Stanford (at Stanford)
#6 Baylor will play host to the visiting #10 Oklahoma Sooners

Here is your week 11 schedule

Nebraskas coach was just like huh, that actually worked. The Michigan State and Michigan game was a good one. Me, my girlfriend, and her dad watched it together. Didnt go bad at all for Michigan State.

The Hail Mary is always a .50 call. Sometimes you cash in, sometimes you drop your quarters. Nebraska needed this win. Rumor had it that Coach Bo Pelini was on the hot seat.

From ESPN

things were beginning to look bleak in Lincoln. Without the miracle in the south end zone, Nebraska was headed to Michigan next week -- with Michigan State on tap a week later -- off two consecutive bad losses.

Pelini’s critics were sharpening their knives even as the Huskers drove to near midfield before the final, fateful play.

EDIT - Saturday nights game will also be one to watch. #1 Alabama Crimson tide will host the #13 LSU Tigers. This should be a good one to see. No offense nielsenman2, but I'm needing 'Bama to get beat. There are a few other teams out there are wanting to see the same thing happen. 'Bama is walking around with that target on their back. Can anyone hit it ?

Central Michigan at Ball State is tonight for you college football fans. Enjoy some MAC football from these two Midwestern schools tonight. Last night saw Bowling Green State smash Miami University (I use "Miami University" to mean Miami of Ohio) 45-3 in Oxford, Ohio (home of Miami U.); and Buffalo trashed Ohio 30-3 in Buffalo.

I probably won't be following many games this Saturday, since I'll be out with my family. Here are some of many different games coming up:

THURSDAY:
* Troy at Louisiana-Lafayette
* #10 Oklahoma at #6 Baylor
* #3 Oregon at #5 Stanford

FRIDAY:
* Louisville at Connecticut
* Air Force at New Mexico

(SOME OF) SATURDAY:
* #2 Florida State at Wake Forest
* Tulane at Texas-San Antonio
* USCal at California
* Nebraska at Michigan
* Illinois at Indiana
* Mississippi State at #15 Texas A&M
* Tulsa at East Carolina
* North Carolina State at Duke
* Kansas at #14 Oklahoma State
* Virginia Tech at #11 Miami
* Houston at Central Florida
* Texas at West Virginia
* #23 Notre Dame at Pittsburgh
* #13 LSU at #1 Alabama
* #16 Fresno State at Wyoming

Three big games this weekend: #10 Oklahoma at #6 Baylor, #3 Oregon at #5 Stanford, and #13 LSU at #1 Alabama. Interesting that the LSU/Alabama game is the only Saturday match. You don't usually get high-level matches on a Thursday. LSU/Alabama figures to be a great game. Psych yourself up for another wild weekend of college football!

Good luck to all of your team(s) this weekend.

After watching Ball State handle Central Michigan rather easily (44-24) and seeing what they have ... NIU had better have their game face on when these two MAC Titans clash on Wednesday Nov. 13th - Huskie Stadium - Dekalb Il. This will be the deciding factor of the MAC division winner.

Tonight is another biggie. 4 out of the top 10 ranked teams will go head to head tonight.

#5 Stanford will host the #3 visiting Ducks of Oregon. (pulling for Stanford)
#6 Baylor will host the #10 Oklahoma Sooners. I somewhere heard that if Baylor wins, this will be their 1st ever 8-0 start. Congrats in advance, if they can pull it off.

Well, the big one is almost here 'Bama versus LSU. Nicksfix I saw that and I see why but, unless all the top 3 teams lose you and Ohio State will be sitting pretty in the #4 spot. No offense. Also, watched some of the first quarter of Baylor vs. Oklahomaand that hit by #8 on Baylors defense almost like last year qith Kenny Bell (Nebraska) on that Wisconsin defender. Nice hit.

We don't want that #4 spot. We want the entire enchilada, the Big Dance in January. The problem being as I have stated earlier in this thread is that we could very well be a 12-0 team and be left on the outside looking in. We need some help getting to the Ballroom for the Big Dance.

Teams like FSU, 'Bama (no offense back at you), Oregon, need to lose. Our remaining strength of schedule is going to be our downfall. We need to continue to blow out opponents, also need teams to get knocked off along the way, then, even then, it may not be enough. We may end up dropping a spot or two. As noted earlier as well, we may even get jumped by other teams along the way. It's gonna be tough getting to that #1 spot without some help.

EDIT :

Down goes #3 Oregon in a thriller 26-20. The Stanford Cardinals took a 26-0 lead into the 4th quarter, only to watch the Ducks start to chip away at it with just 10 minutes left in the game. A gallant last ditch effort from the Ducks, but they just fell short. Congrats goes out to the Stanford Cardinals.

Now, let the scenarios start. Does #4 Ohio State (9-0) move up into the #3 spot and Stanford (8-1) move up into #4 ? Or do the Cardinals jump the Buckeyes and take the #3 spot leaving Ohio State sitting at #4 ?

Here we go !!! This is what the Bucks needed. It's a start, here's hoping it helps.

Also tonight. #6 Baylor took care of #10 Oklahoma rather easily 41-12. Baylor is now 8-0 for the 1st time in school history. Congrats on that landmark Baylor.

Stanford had the Oregon offense on LOCK DOWN, until they all decided to just go back to their dorms in the 4th quarter. 26-0 turned into 26-20 way too quickly.

Still, once again Stanford sticks it to the bandwagoners, I collect on a nice wager, and my favorite team in the NCAA pretty much sews up the PAC12 conference.

^
You now control your own destiny. Should it come down to a tie, Stanford will get the nod due to this win.

Congrats Hawkeye12 to you and your Stanford Cardinals. 👍 A very nice solid team.

You do know, there is a possibility that we may meet up in the Rose Bowl .... pending some outcomes. After watching these Cardinals, there is some concern here.

Best of luck to Stanford for the remainder of the season.

OSU stays at 4. Sadly they cannot move up because people will dismiss their wins in an "inferior" conference (which is wrong).

Well, Oregon as everyone is saying has lost to the same team they lost to last year. I actually didnt watch it but, I got to school and a friend of mine sat down and said, "The ducks were shot and treed." I laughed so hard. Quite possibly the hardest game of the season comes up tomorrow for 'Bama. Let's see can they keep it rolling or will the tigers learn to swim?

How about some college football for Veteran's Day weekend? Enjoy today's games and tonight's games.

Good luck to all your teams this weekend.

I just heard about the Stanford-Oregon score. Holy crap, I'm amazed (and happy). I would love to watch the first three quarters of the game when Oregon was scoreless.
