Touchdown bama!!!!

I think bama has done it 1:47 left in 4th 49-35 bama.

49-42 Alabama is still number 1. ROLL TIDE!!

Like I said we did it in 2010 when they had Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson. Marcus Lattimore rushed for more yards than them combined. Bama can't stop a team that has good receivers and can get wide on them. Auburn in 2010, Sc in 2010, LSU and Georgia almost got them last year and A&M did get them.

I know from the outside looking in it probably looks like I'm being cocky or arrogant but the reality is they aren't that much better than Georgia SC Florida or LSU. So from my point of view they seem extremely beatable. That being said they are great and Saban is an amazing coach, I look forward to playing and beating them in Atlanta in December!👍

Oh and I'm holding you to that! haha you should get a 7 when you buy one in December frame it and sell it in 15 years when Clowney is in the CFB Hall of Fame.

Well it seems that bama just stopped an AMAZING Texas A&M team and if i am correct they like to spread the field to the outside and that special guy whats his name again... oh yeah JOHNNY MANZIEL plus now (this quote is kinda old) south carolina lost to was it?....GEORGIA?

Bama and A&M should rematch for the national championship. I would have liked to see Michigan go up against either of those two teams until they almost choked on Akron.

Yet another great weekend of College Football. This must have been the weekend for lighting up the scoreboard, some big scores were posted. This weekend also saw some close ones and a few upsets.

A few ramblings from this past weekend.

#1 'Bama holds in a nail biter against #6 Texas A&M 49-42
#2 Oregon toyed with Tennessee 59-14
#11 Michigan survives a last second scare from Akron U. 28-24
#10 Florida State makes mincemeat out of Nevada 62-7
#19 Washington hangs on to beat the Fighting Illini 34-24
#21 Notre Dame outlasted Purdue 31-24
#8 LSU handles Kent State rather easily 45-13
Louisianna Lafayette mauls Nicholls State 70-7
Unranked Arizona State takes down #20 Wisconsin 32-30 in a bizarre ending
#16 UCLA hands #23 Nebraska it's first loss of the season 41-21
Rutgers rebounds nicely and beats Eastern Michigan 28-10
USC rebounds from a loss nicely as well and beats Boston College 35-7

Week 3 of the Buckeye Blitz

Week 3 saw the #3 ranked OSU buckeyes make a road trip out to California to take on the Golden Bears without Heisman hopeful Braxton Miller at the helm. Backup QB, Kenny Guiton got the start for OSU and filled the shoes very, very nicely.

OSU took down Cal 52-34. Guiton got the Bucks jump started rather quickly. The Bucks racked up 21 points in the first 6 minutes of play, as Guiton threw 3 of his 4 TD passes in this short time frame. Kenny was on fire.

Full OSU story.

Some game play highlights.

The Bucks come back home this weekend and square off against the Florida A&M Rattlers. A final tune-up game before Conference Play gets rolling.

Lighting up the scoreboard my rear end. If ECU's defense holds a BCS running back to 42 yards and a Virginia Tech offense to 15 points, we should win. But no.

So far, so good for my Houston Cougars. I found out we didn't play over the weekend. The Coogs are 2-0 with a 62-13 win vs. Southern and 22-13 at Temple. I don't have any real expectations for the University of Houston this season. Up next is a battle with our crosstown rivals. It's the Battle for the Bayou Bucket between Houston and Rice this Saturday.

Once this game concludes, here are the next four matches: at Texas-San Antonio (Sep. 28), Memphis (Oct. 12), BYU (Oct. 19), and at Rutgers (Oct. 26). The Houston at Rutgers match would be the JohnBM01 vs. Blitz24 special. I think Houston will make a Bowl games. The American Athletic Conference does have a BCS Bowl Bid. However, I sincerely doubt the Houston Cougars will make any significant noise to represent the AAC in the BCS bowls. Everybody will be looking up at Louisville in terms of having a chance of dominating the AAC.

There's your look at the Houston Cougars from a beloved fan. I still don't really know what to make of the conclusion of the Wisconsin at Arizona State game. I also wished I could have seen the Alabama at Texas A&M game. Unfortunately, I was out with my family.

Unranked Arizona State takes down #20 Wisconsin 32-30 in a bizarre ending

I still don't really know what to make of the conclusion of the Wisconsin at Arizona State game.

It was "How not to end a football game". For those who may have missed this bizarre ending, here is a re-cap.

With 18 seconds left and no timeouts, Arizona State leads by a score of 32-30. Wisconsin has the ball on the Arizona State 13. You might think simply running the clock down, spiking the ball on 1st down, and kicking for the 33-32 win on 2nd down would be the right call. You would be right, but that is not what Wisconsin is going to do here. Sort of, maybe, I think ..... dunno what they were thinking.

Week 4 is soon to get under way. Here is some of what's slated.

Starting tomorrow #3 Clemson goes into N.C. State to take on the Wolfpack.
FIU goes into #7 Louisville hopes of .....
My #4 Buckeyes will host the Florida A&M Rattlers (Does Braxton return or sit out another ?)
North Texas Mean Green (love that name for some reason) goes to #9 Georgia Bulldogs
John's Houston Cougars will visit the Rice Owls
#17 Washington Huskies will host Idaho State
#1 'Bama hosts Colorado State
USC plays host to Utah State
#22 Notre Dame will host Michigan State
#23 Arizona State goes into #5 Stanford (should be a good one)
SMU goes to #10 Texas A&M
#19 Florida Gators will host the Volunteers of Tennessee
The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats will have their hands full going into the hostile territory of #8 Florida Sate Seminoles
Battle of the Tigers ... Auburn goes into #6 LSU
#13 UCLA will play host to New Mexico State

Good luck to your team(s) this weekend.

Tonight, it is an ACC tilt as #3 Clemson is at North Carolina State. That should be a pretty good match.

The match I am most interested in this weekend is Kansas State at Texas. A fail performance by Texas could help Mack Brown be further be 86'ed from Texas as head coach. All I wonder is... who would fill the coaching vacancy if Mack Brown gets fired.

Good luck to all your teams this weekend.

Boise State lost 41-40(?) last night at Fresno State.

A lot of games are going on right now. Among them...

* North Carolina at Georgia Tech
* Marshall at Virginia Tech
* Vanderbilt at Massachusetts
* San Jose State at Minnesota
* Louisiana Tech at Kansas
* North Texas at Georgia
* Wake Forest at Army
* Florida A&M at Ohio State

Other games are still to come. Michigan State at Notre Dame, Rice at Houston, Delaware State at North Dakota State, Kansas State at Texas, and Auburn at LSU are all to be played later today.

And once again, good luck to all your teams.

Just went Final... Houston beat Rice 31-26. Rice made it interesting late blocking a UH field goal and returning the ball for a touchdown. Unfortunately, they missed the 2-point conversion. Then, Rice played an Onside Kick PERFECTLY. Houston just wasn't having none of that... they almost basically survived against Rice.

But... we did it! Congratulations to all other winners from today's and tonight's games.

Rutgers is 2-0 now vs. Arkansas. That's not something I envisioned saying last September.

So in alabama and louisiana Alabama won 31-6. This was not really a surprise. The auburn game though a different story. Me being a bama fan i want auburn to lose. But then i want lsu to lose. IM SO CONFLICTED!!

Arse thumping time at the Shoe in Columbus, Ohio.

Yesterdays game saw the Buckeyes tattoo the visiting Florida A&M Rattlers 76-0. This was a total mis-match from the get go. Keep in mind that FAMU signed the contract to play the O.S.U.Bucks for $900,000., they had to know that a major embarrassment could / would be likely. It happened to them.

Total domination on behalf of The Ohio State University.

Passing yards
O.S.U. : Kenny Guiton (subbing for a resting Braxton Miller) went 24-34 for 215 yards and 6 TD's (a new school record) Congrats on that landmark.
FAMU : 10-16 for 30 yards

Rushing yards
O.S.U. : 46-388 and 5 TD's
FAMU : 23-50

Total yards
O.S.U. : 603
FAMU : 80

Scoring - 1st quarter
Jordan Hall 3 Yd Run (Drew Basil Kick) 7-0 Bucks
Jeff Heuerman 11 Yd Pass From Kenny Guiton (two point pass conversion failed) 13-0 Bucks
Evan Spencer 8 Yd Pass From Kenny Guiton (Drew Basil Kick) 20-0 Bucks
Carlos Hyde 1 Yd Pass From Kenny Guiton (Drew Basil Kick) 27-0 Bucks
Devin Smith 5 Yd Pass From Kenny Guiton (Drew Basil Kick) 34-0 Bucks

Scoring - 2nd quarter
Jordan Hall 18 Yd Run (Drew Basil Kick) 41-0 Bucks
Chris Fields 15 Yd Pass From Kenny Guiton (Drew Basil Kick) 48-0 Bucks
Evan Spencer 15 Yd Pass From Kenny Guiton (Drew Basil Kick) 55-0 Bucks

HALF ...
OSU comes out after the half and lifts the throttle. 3rd-4th- and 5th team players are now in the game.

Scoring - 3rd quarter
Ezekiel Elliott 16 Yd Run (Kyle Clinton Kick) 62-0 Bucks
Ezekiel Elliott 13 Yd Run (Kyle Clinton Kick) 69-0 Bucks

Scoring - 4th quarter
Cardale Jones 10 Yd Run (Kyle Clinton Kick) 76-0 Bucks

Rattlers head coach said after the game :
"We don't want a pity party," said Rattlers coach Earl Holmes, who made a point of saying the Buckeyes didn't run up the score on his team. "I don't have a problem with that. I don't expect the coach to kneel. You play the game. You play for 60 minutes."

Now that the cupcake games are in the books for the '13 season, it's time to get down to business. Next weekend will see the 24th ranked Wisconsin Badgers come to Columbus ... (possible B1G championship preview game ? )

B1G ramblings :

Michigan survived another scare. This one from the hands of unranked 0-2 UConn. The Wolverines fought back after trailing by 14 points to take the win. It was not pretty for the Wolverines, but at the end of the day, they looked up at the scoreboard, saw the final and recorded another win. Michigan now moves to 4-0 on the season.

Wisconsin 41-10 over Purdue
Minnesota 43-24 over San Jose State
Iowa 59-3 over Western Michigan
Nebraska 59-20 over South Dakota State
Northwestern 35-21 over Maine
Michigan State loses to Notre Dame 17-13
Penn State 34-0 over Kent State
Indiana loses to Missouri 45-28

Do you think miller or guiton is better? I think guiton is better. Hes put up better stats according to all the college football shows and sportscenter.

Big one coming up this weekend- Wisconsin at Ohio State. This is usually a big match whether it's football or even men's basketball. Wisconsin is no cupcake. So I'm sure Ohio State won't toy around with Wisconsin as if they were Youngstown State or Florida A&M. It will be a huge match for the Buckeyes in welcoming the Badgers to their house.

Two other interesting games this week include Texas at Iowa State (one GTP'er will hope Iowa State wins) and LSU at Georgia. After Texas took care of Kansas State, the hot seat for Mack Brown got iced a little bit. LSU and Georgia will be a fairly good matchup between two usually powerful teams. This game will be a Top 10 match. I think LSU is a #9 team and Georgia is #6.

Rutgers now has a better standing if their only loss was to a ranked team by one point.

Unless the media poll is not mentally fit.

Nor the AP poll ...
Nor the Coaches poll ...
ESPECIALLY THE BCS .....

These polls are all just as accurate as the man sitting behind the computer crunching numbers into it. Sometimes I think that man is biased, and has not a clue.

For what it is worth, here is the latest AP poll.

1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Clemson
4. Ohio State
5. Stanford
6. LSU
7. Louisville
8. Florida State
9. Georgia
10. Texas A&M
11. Oklahoma State
12. S. Carolina
13. UCLA
14. Oklahoma
15. Miami (Fla.)
16. Washington
17. Northwestern
18. Michigan
19. Baylor
20. Florida
21. Mississippi
22. Notre Dame
23. Wisconsin
24. Texas Tech
25. Fresno State

Week 5 should see some good games. As John mentioned, the Wisconsin Badgers will visit Columbus this weekend to face The O.S.U Buckeyes. This will be the first "real" test for both of these teams. Go Go Bucks. 👍
As an FYI - Braxton Miller will be starting for the Bucks after a 2 week rest-up. This will also be the 1st time this year that the Bucks will be at full strength. Carlos Hyde and Braxton Miller will finally get to be together in the same backfield for the first time this year. This opens a lot of doors for the Bucks "O". This teamed up with Devin Smith and "Philly" Brown on the outs, the Bucks "should" be fine this weekend.

Georgia -vs- LSU will also be another one to keep an eye on.
Ole Miss goes to Alabama.
Oklahoma will visit South Bend to do battle with Notre Dame.
Stanford at Washington State should be a decent PAC 12 game to watch.
The Battle of Carolina ... East -vs- North

Good Luck to your team(s) this weekend.

Im gonna say Ohio State:24 and Wisconsin:21. No offense nick but i would love to see a low scoring close game. Sorta like Texas A&M and Alabama just lower scores. Oh i meant to do this earlier but could you add me to the people and teams on the first post of this thread? Please and thank you.

It could very well be a close one in Columbus, but I really want to see a blowout. In favor of the Buckeyes ... of course. The Bucks need to make a statement. By blowing out a ranked division rival it will speak words ... OSU is for real !

Nothing personal nielsenman2 (please don't take this the wrong way), we have our sights set on you. We are looking for that B1G -vs- SEC National Championship Game ...

OSU -vs- 'Bama.
It may happen this year, it may not come until next year ... either way, we're coming for 'ya. ;)

Oh, and by the way (please do accept my apologies), I did make the mistake of inadvertently not putting your name and team in the OP / Who's Who in GTP College Football. It is taken care of now, your name and supported team are listed in the OP. 👍

Best of luck to your Tide this year ;) .... hoping for a meeting with you on Jan. 7th @ Sun Life Stadium, Miami Florida

So will it be like the was it lsu(or was it florida) ohio state national championship? Just kidding. If we do matchup it is going to be a good one. Best of luck to the Bucks.

Tonight begins a new week of college football mayhem. Tonight's FBS matches involve a "technical" battle along with a battle of natural disasters. Sound like fun? It should! Here are tonight's matches:

* Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech
* Iowa State at Tulsa
* Howard at North Carolina A&T
* California Polytechnical at Portland State

Enjoy this weekend's games and good luck to all of your teams.

First time we've won in Chapel Hill since 1975. So worth waking up at 6:30 to get up there.

55-31 was the final, Shane Carden accounted for 6 touchdowns. The whole stadium was almost empty at halftime, and the ECU section was strong and rockin' the whole game.

WOO!

25-0 'Bama rolls strong again. For the second week in a row i wasnt able to really watch it. I was replacing a busted throwout bearing in my truck. Me and my dad just wanted to set it on fire about hmmm 7!! hours into it.

CAM, I know you must be happy. East Carolina beats North Carolina, and Duke beats Troy. Great job to the ECU Pirates and Duke Blue Devils.

My Houston Cougars took down the Roadrunners of the University of Texas-San Antonio 59-28 in San Antonio. We're now 4-0 on the season. I still don't have realistic expectations for UH this season. All I do know is that the biggest game of the season for Houston will be at Louisville on November 16th. The Coogs won't play again until October 12, when we host one of our ex-Conference USA foes: the University of Memphis.

I want to make mention of these results as well:

* #9 Georgia took down #6 LSU at home 44-41, snapping LSU's 29-game winning streak of games won in September.

* Oklahoma handled Notre Dame 35-21 on the road.

* THE Ohio State won 31-24 hosting Wisconsin. Up next... at Northwestern. That one might get tricky if Northwestern has their way. Four touchdown passes for Braxton Miller- a career best.

* I didn't think Mississippi had a chance anyways at Alabama. Alabama hung 25 on Ole Miss while the Rebels could do nothing but be stymied. 25-0, Alabama at home.

* Kentucky has yet to figure out #20 Florida. They lost 24-7 at home to the Florida Gators.

* #12 South Carolina beat UCF 28-25 in Orlando, but it was bitter-sweet. Their QB was knocked out of the game.

* Purdue gets slapped around at home hosting Northern Illinois. It was 55-24 for the NIU Huskies over the Purdue Boilermakers.

* The Mountaineers of West Virginia stunned the Cowboys of #11 Oklahoma State at home. 30-21, WVU.

Congratulations to all other winners elsewhere in college football... including FCS victories by Sam Houston State and North Dakota State.

Pretty sure that we will give Louisville a test in two weeks. I can't wait for that tilt. Rutgers seems to have an odd edge in Thursday Night games against AAC opponents. Also our last ever game vs. Louisville in the near future.

Talk about a day maker

Huskies beat Arizona 31-13 yesterday. This puts us up to 4-0 so far...

The next two games are going to be tough; Stanford and Oregon. Hopefully it won't be as bad of a slaughter as it has been in the past few years.
