GET IN THERE, CRAZY DIAMONDS
I swear, this will be my last multipost in this thread, because surprisingly, the Three Horsemen of the Apocalypse have been defeated. I didn't think I could be able to beat the Lewis Hamilton Challenge in just a week and a half.
These are the laps:
MOUNT PANORAMA
SUZUKA
WILLOW SPRINGS (Twitch bug at 0:40, play at 0:41 to see the rest of the lap)
In this one Twitch almost backstabbed me hard. Both the streaming and this clip crash in the middle of my diamond lap (min 0:40 of this clip). If you load the video again and start watching just after the bug you can watch the rest of the lap. All this time I had a feeling Twitch would fail somehow when I got my Willow diamond lap... and it did, indeed. Fortunately the mp4 exportcan be watched in one go, when the bug occurs, there's just a sound glitch in one or two frames, something even real onboards have sometimes.
The last 5 diamonds had a curious pattern. I got the diamond laps in the first 40 min of the 2nd diamond hunting session, after a 2-3h 1st session the day before. It helped me a lot watching reference laps and guides between sessions. Also it sounds kinda silly, but it encouraged me a lot to carry on when Lewis said "Don't sweat it, keep pushing!" after each failed diamond run.
It was a fun, hard and exciting experience. Gran Turismo hadn't given me such a challenge since the GT5 Sebastian Vettel X Challenge. Suprisingly, it took me more time getting the Vettel Suzuka Gold than the Hamilton Willow Springs Diamond, when the 2nd is suposedly more difficult. Anyway, thanks Seb and Sir Lewis for enhancing the Gran Turismo offiline experience.
Since I beat the LH challenge way sooner than what I expected, I'm trying some sort of 11th LH challenge, beating his 2017 pole lap (1:19.149) in my home track (Barcelona) with the 2017 F1 merc. Since it's impossible with the stock car I have set these rules:

PD: Unfortunately, when you beat the challenge, you no longer get the video with Lewis congratulating you due to a "network error". Now I know this is one of the GT Sport things that got thrown into the Shadow Realm after the servers shutdown...

- Tuning allowed
- Racing soft (no extra-soft allowed)
- DRS only in main and back straights.
