Been a busy weekend. Hoping to get caught up on some practice this week and next to be ready for the 19th. Had a birthday celebration for the Mrs on Saturday with her family, in town from NJ, and our friends...and then Sunday did a cruise and meet with a few members from the 4th Gen FBody club I put together in our local area. I tagged a few pictures from the day that a few photographers captured at the local car shows and meets. Mine is blue 01 Z28. Great weekend, but ready to get some practice and some racing in. See you guys on track.

That’s a good looking ride. I had a 2002 SS. Had a trick flow kit put on it with Borla x- pipe exhaust. Then went to NC and had it tuned. It was a Cobra killer. One mean ride. When I had my second kid, I sold it. I miss that car. It about chokes me up talking about it.

I came close to selling it about 4 years ago for some quick money to cover other expenses. Had a guy scheduled to meet up, but just couldn't do it. I kept trying to sell myself on the idea that I could eventually replace it, but when I browsed what 6spd cars were going for vs what I was selling it for, I just couldn't part with it....figured out another way on the money and was able to hold onto it. Car sat for about 2 years, and then got a promotion at work. Shortly thereafter, I put some work in to get it back up to condition (new tires, brakes, p/s pump, plugs, clean up, etc) and got tags back on it. Been back on the road for about 2 years and running great. Sooo glad I weathered the storm and didn't let it go. Its a no power option car with the LS1/6spd manual/3.42 rear with some adds, dyno'd 353hp at the wheels....owned it since 2007. Needless to say, I'm attached.

Looks like you’re going there too !
Nah, consistent low 1:24's as race pace with some laps into the hi 23's should be good for a top 5, but not expecting podium....those near mid 23's was 10/10ths, not race pace...and that optimal, I don't see me pressing that hard. Also, those Porsche drivers have yet to announce or show any times yet. Should be a great race night. Looking forward to it.

Man, you’re super smooth. I’d rather have that than what I have. Im having to do a ton of work behind the wheel to put down the same times. It’s like you’re on rails, dude. I changed up my equipment on the hardware end and it has set me back a bit. I know it’ll pay off in the long run, but I’ve struggled for the past week. I’ve been calibrating pedals, changing brake pressure, moving pedal faces, changing up pedal travel. It’s been a nightmare. I have got back to the 8’s, and I’m starting to develop feel again. Idk that I’ll mesh with these new pedals in time to have a good run at RA. These T-lcm pedals have been pretty tough to get dialed in. I’m not hitting the panic button yet, but my goodness.

Yikes with a 2pp bump my quick is a 25.4 and that was only cause Raul suggested a setup change that within 2 laps had me a half second faster.

The Camaro is good at this track. 12-13 hard laps with @socalnatv this afternoon. We weren’t far apart. But I only got close to his bumper when he made a mistake and I had a decent lap. End of 13 laps our fast laps separated by 0.006sec.

Should be a great race night indeed! 👍🏻

I’ll be on after 9pm tonight if anyone wants to get some laps in.

I worked my butt of for a week. With a few tweaks it all came back together last night. I finally at least got back to where I was before changing hardware.

Was this in an online lobby, or in an offline time trial? I only ask because I dont see any fuel loss or tire wear. Times typically are around 0.5 to 0.7 faster in time trial mode with fuel and tire wear not being factors.

Online lobby. I just went back to pits before I took the photo. I won’t set a car up in TT. The grip levels are different. I had a few ppl in there, but they left. A Camaro and a Blue Porsche. I laid a 23.47 down after a few laps. Then the Porsche laid down a 23.43 I think. So I started pushing for more. I made a few adjustments and did a 23.40. Then they left so I went a little further in the same direction and cut it to a 23.20. I came back in and took a break. Then just kept what I had and ran that 23 flat. Someone has to be in the 8’s or 9’s. They’re just sandbagging. Like I said, I haven’t really even became accustomed to this new equipment yet. Plus I haven’t gotten used to the way things work in GT7. I basically skipped sport all together. So it’s been since GT6 that I have raced competitively. I know some of these guys that live this stuff have to be quicker than I am. There’s no way. I mean I’m not saying I haven’t whipped some D1’s in my prime but that’s been 8 years ago and I’m 40. You know my reflexes and all that aren’t as quick as these young guys.

That Camaro was me. I couldn’t get to 24.0 last night in both rooms I was in.

I’m no tuner so I’m not sure how to set my stuff up to turn better. Maybe you could share your tune ?

The Porsche was fruitloop. He’s always at least 3-4 tenths faster than me. I assume he’s running at 640 pp like war machine.

Slap a team chevy sticker on your car. Welcome to the team. You’ll have to turn some laps and grind tho. Give me feedback and we’ll see if we can have some success. I’ll teach you how to set up these race cars. We ran a similar package in my GT1 days. Low DF, but a lot more HP. An aero package similar to this I’d have a package set up for 650 hp. I was the car chief for that series for a long time. Now, I’m a little behind on GT7. I’ve been away for 8 years. But I promise we’ll get caught up. It’s just going to take some time.
I’d like to see these Chevy’s up front for the remainder of the season. That would mean a lot to me. There wasn’t a day that went by over the past 8 years I didn’t think about sim racing. It is a true passion of mine. I just love the grind, the preparation, the community. I am here to prove to myself that I can still do this at an elite level or give it one heck of a shot.
Let’s run some preliminary races tonight. Starting around 9 to 9:30 pm eastern time. 10 lap shootouts. Just to get things oiled up.

@Bologna_Duc 1:24.02X in the lobby...too fast for me...
Now hold on there sir. 🙏🏻 You’re only telling half the story. 😉
4 practice rounds of 6 laps each and every one of us went too deep or off track and lost positions at one point or another. And with this crowd it only takes one no matter how many miracle laps you catch. 💩🦄

Some fantastic and relentless battles. 🙌🏻
