What's so wrong about someone smoking?

Yes there are dangers but if someone wants to smoke that's their choice. Smokers shouldn't have to deal with everyone shoving their "stop smoking" crap down their throats, it's ridiculous.

And on a similar note I've started occasionally smoking cigars, yummy.

Then I started again, cos I was in Hollandland, where it seemed appropriate to let my hair down and enjoy a smoke, and now I can't stop again.

All that year I spent smoke-free (first time in 15 years) I felt so much better, and noticed so many differences in health and blah blah blah I could bore you for hours, but I feel that having been a casual smoker, then a non-smoker, then back to a casual smoker again, I have some insight into what it's all about; and killing yourself, wasting your money and smelling embarrassing just seems a daft thing for you to choose to do at your age.

Call it a knee-jerk reaction to reading your post if you like, but I was a mite surprised.

I've seen that movie way too many times over the last few years. It's one of boys favorite movies. Just wait when your boys get old enough to not be scared by Sloth. You too will know the whole movie by heart.

I had to tell a couple of friends yesterday that I was officially no longer a supporter of Celtic FC, and am now a Hearts fan... I used to go to Celtic games when I lived in Glasgow many years ago, but since then I have rarely been back, and ironically, now that I live in Glasgow again, I feel no connection to the team any more. I now go to Hearts games with my mates, and the atmosphere is alot more "friendly", plus the games are unpredictable - unlike Celtic who practically always win in the SPL - so the games are more exciting..

As a nice touch, a mate of mine bought be a Hearts scarf to make it "official" and when my Celtic supporting mates turned up, there was no hiding it... I have to say, they took it well, and I got the feeling they were a little disappointed, but also got the feeling that they were thinking, "Good luck with that!"...

If people are smoking in such close proximity to me that I am choking on the smoke I have every right, and should, tell them to 'stop smoking', atleast near me. I appreciate and atleast endeavour to protect my health and I don't want inconsiderate individuals ruining such a precious facet of my life. If they want to kill themselves they can go do it somewhere else and where I don't suffer any needless respiratory-destroying health repercussions.

I'm not agreeing with smoking, i'm stating that the reason people want people to stop smoking is because of people inadvertently inhaling that smoke from nearby smokers a.k.a. Second-hand smoking.

Second hand smoke stinks and makes my throat sore after a while, I just keep away from smoking areas and when outdoors I don't expect smokers to hide away from everyone.

but.... I hate it at shopping malls they have the smoking limit line near the entrance and there is a line up of smokers on it, clouding the entrance with smoke.
I mean why do they have to stand on the line? It's not raining, cold or hot or anything.. it's like the are lining up for a race.
