Room is now open. Please standby before the race as I may have to request that starting drivers take a stint photo at the end of their stint before handing over to the next driver. At this stage we dont have a lap scorer for the start of the race.
I hope we don't as my cammras broke :/

I misunderstood the Race start procedure.
When the race director said "30 sec, I thought he ment the 03.000 mark, as that was exactley 30 seconds away from when he posted it.
I thought you would post a race start time, i.e. a total race time mark, at wich the start is.

Yes. TBH, a time frame should have been set instead of 30 secs. Just saying.

can't there be an observer that posts updates?

Apologies addy, it was hard enough to keep up with was happening without trying to write out an update for the forum. The good thing is that we had an opportunity to iron out any bugs with this race and learn our lessons from this race and carry over to Bathurst, I'm feeling a lot more confident about things than what I was 4-5 hours ago, even @Glenalz81 could tell I was majorly stressing out!:lol:

Definitely one of the bugs we needed to iron out. I'll be working on it over the next few weeks so we can have a flawless start at bathurst.

Anyone else drop Hp

If you recently completed an oil change before the race, then you are likely to drop hp during the race. The best way to fix it is to run the car for 1000km and reset the engine limiter to get your power, it will drop you into the lower section of the PP parameters, but you wont experience the power drop.

Other than that, I just want to say a huge thank you to all drivers for your efforts tonight, all in all I though everything ran as smooth as it could've and the drivers made things easier than could've been during the race. A big thank you to @Glenalz81 @Killing Heidi @jonnyb1990 @memto89 @FutureF1 (even though you had to bail on the lap scoring) and @Cobra75 for their efforts in helping out behind the scenes, I'd hate to think what I'd be like if I had to do it all on my own...

I'll post the results and points very soon, and start working towards Bathurst! :gtpflag:

Great race everybody, I had a good time. Even though it sucks to loose that 2:nd place in the dying end of the race.. Would have been funny to see two Swedish teams in the top of the podium...

How did your driver change work then? Just a regular pitstop or did you still have to leave the lobby?

Had a good stint, 3 mistakes for me, but luckily only 1 causing damage. Was nice to hand over the car with a 1 lap lead, (albeit we lost that lap doing our own driver change). Hats off to TRL boys, great pace. Looking forward to the remaining races!

They were made to do a stop and hold for 60 seconds when they did the driver change :)
Ah ok, still a slight gain there then i guess. Takes about 90s to perform a regular DC. Either way good effort by TOR. Did make me chuckle slightly when you collected the pit entry wall during one of your stops.

Well my race night turned into a short notice rush after a phone call from @ItzRacing :D
Getting my camera, not charged, and full!! Ready for everyone's stint photos on driver change, along with Lap count.
Once the race started, there was no way really to tell my Co-Driver @evildragonxxl what on earth was going on.
In order to pull the stints off for all drivers, Evil would need to do a driver change last, which messed our plan up completely. The best i could do was use the text box and say Car #4 please stay on track till updated. I was trying to keep it short to not stuff everyones hard racing up. So, sorry about the messages, but it had to be done for stints.
Other than that, our team most likely came last, but Evil did put in a fight in first place till 2 cars messed up and Evil had no where to go but crash into them plus a wall. Then he pitted for driver change, and i couldn't jump in till everyone had their driver stop stints done. So evil, not knowing what on earth was going on, well now ya know mate! Sorry buddy. Also bad luck for the disconnection. Great race by all and certainly TRL. Cheers.

I didn't see the whole race go down, but personally I think all those little bumps can be ironed out by simply running a big race in two legs, in race mode without driver changes. Not only does this mean you can fit more people on the grid at one time, but also people get to have their replay (and if it's important to them they get paid in game credits).
At the end of leg one if car number 12 it's a lap behind, then he simply has to delay take off for 1 lap. And an observer who spots incidents can still penalise people with drive through (do not collect fuel) penalties or something to that effect.

Otherwise it was fun, my strategy didn't work at all, even though I did 62 laps in practice on 1 tank of fuel, in the race despite my conserving fuel efforts I ran dry on the last lap. Should have just gunned it from start to finish. Ahwell

In theory your idea does have its merits, and this was what was planned to begin with, but this also had it flaws. Yes, it would have worked very well for High Speed Ring with very fast laps and a 500km race, we would have seen drivers do 60-90 minutes of driving. The problem at Bathurst though is that you are then asking drivers to do 80 laps which means you are asking everyone to 3 straight hours of driving on a very demanding track. I know that a good majority of drivers will not be able to handle it. So running the race in practice mode allows each team decide their strategy based on what they can handle during the race, with a maximum driving time of 2 hours. The other problem we have is disconnections. An example of this was evildragon last night, in the practice mode he was able to jump back in and continue racing, if he was racing in the race mode then his team was effectively out of the race or we would have to stop the race and reset everything to allow him back in.

There are definitely pros and cons to each way and ideally we would have run the race as you suggested last night but then as an organiser we would've gone into Bathurst completely blind about what it takes to run the race

Unfortunately even if we got signatures and they said it was coming, we'd still be waiting for it just like the course creator

Has core considered doing a TCM style v8 supercar support series

I looked into it last year, but the car list isn't up to scratch and I don't think it can be done fairly to cater for Chev, Ford and Dodge fans as well as catering for other tastes. That and also someone else beat me to it and I'm not the person that will directly copy someone's work.
