Who's running that?

NW48 floated the idea as part of his 1st season of ATCC but I don't think the response was large enough to run it.

With that in mind though, if I set up a couple of different races around Bathurst in the week or 2 leading up to the 1000, would there be interest from competitors wanting to race? One idea I had was to hold a 2 hour GT race. We could also look at a Red Bull Jnr race or maybe muscle cars?

The response was sort of there, but more people were interested in a Formula Ford and Toyota 86GT Series. The car list, as you said, was lagging behind a bit. There was probably only two or three cars that would be suitable for a TCM-inspired series. Can't remember which ones they were off the top of my head, unfortunately.

I'd be fine if someone else attempted the idea as I don't think I'll be trying it again until GT7. Just not enough people who play the game are interested, unfortunately. You could get six or seven if you're lucky, but that's nowhere near enough to justify the effort of running a series.

Now... if only PD let us put different body shapes on a chasis we could run an Aussie Racing Car Series.

An Aussie Racing Car Series? I'm listening..... ;)
Would need a 500bhp Suzuki Cappuccino on Comfort Hards to recreate the racing they have though!

I've tried looking into it and I'm currently looking around at the options for one. I'll be sure to keep you posted. ;)

I thought custom wings weren't allowed

Completely forgot about that when doing the points after Deep Forest. but yes, they are not allowed and Play should have been disqualified as a result. But it was fixed for the last night.

EDIT: We are having a few issues we need to sort out before we confirm the final results, once they are done then we will post them as soon as possible.

As you can tell, the race was actually one lap short, we went back through stint photos which we taken and adjusted the results to be more accurate than what they were on the night. I apologise for this mix up and will be working to ensure everything goes to plan much better at Bathurst.

Top 10 in the campionship baby yeah! And could the winning team message me please

Good work, but you have 3 guys behind that will be desperately trying to get a top 10 as well, so make sure you keep the hard work and consistent driving going.

Also, @RacingLine and @TRL_Andromeda, itslynxy is responsible for our prizes, so please get in contact with him to make arrangements for your prize for winning the High Speed Ring 500.

@ItzRacing : Not that it matters, but I'm pretty sure we had a 1 lap lead... I handed the car over with about a 20 second lead, and Evo lapped Glen twice.
Also, we only did 2 laps before the start right? (out lap and formation lap)
I did 63 laps including those 2, thas 61, and Evo did 64 laps, thats 125 laps...

We gained 1 lap on you during your driver change. So EVO passing glen the first time was to unlap yourself, second was to take the lead. What lap was evo on under parc ferme at the end?

Edit

The only other time we are aware you passed us was during the pitstop cycle.

Well you do gain a lap or 2 during our driver change, but you loose about the same during your own driver change, so that gap should stay pretty much the same (our drivercahnge was'nt that slow)
Glen might have gotten the lead, but as evo passed him right at the stat of his stint, and then pulled another lap on him that means he's atleast 1 lap ahead.

@RacingLine , your total lap count was 64 right? (65 in parc ferme)?

I'm pretty certain i never got lapped, myself and evo were running around the same pace, only a tenth between our best laps, i had no unscheduled pitstops.

I maybe wrong but i don't see where 1 lap was gained.

Hey guys, does it really matter? The results doesn't change even if one of the team is one or fifteen laps behind.. Take it to Brathurst and battle it out on the track instead :D

From the information i have been told, the lap scorer had the following numbers for our teams

Gtp_caine 65 laps
Glenalz81 63 laps
(Total of 228)

Erazor 64 laps
Evo 64 laps
(Total 228)

That includes the opening 2 laps and the current lap in parc ferme. So take 3 laps off that makes 225 for both teams.

We also discovered an error in the lap counts due to garages being beyond the start finish line. The lap scorer had me down for 65-2 = 63 laps. But i had only completed 64 laps (i was on my 65th during driver change and that was the number noted) so i had in fact only completed 62 laps. Making our grand total 224. I presume the same error was made for you, meaning your total was also 224.

We had a full lap advantage when i left track. So while we were changing driver, evo completed a full lap (unlapped yourselves) and then on his next lap he passed Glen to take the lead. Glen exitted the pits aproximately 20s behind evo, (which was the same gap as before the driver change).

From this point on, we are only speculating. Evo pitted twice and glen 3 times. During evo's 2nd stop, glen took the lead, but glen still had to pit one more time. So when evo passed glen in the pits, it was to retake the lead not lap us.

The simple way to answer this issue is: If you have photo proof that evo was on lap 65 in parc ferme, you did lap us no questions asked. If you don't have proof, we both finished on the same lap. Either way, no positions change, its just how big of a lead you had that changes.

Yeah I'm certain that EVO was on lap 64 after he crossed the line and took the chequered flag. So you would have to remove 1 lap from that which leaves 63. Then we had stint photos of all drivers in their first stint. @TRL_Andromeda was on 64 laps but crossed the start line when the stint photo was taken so we had to remove 1 lap on top of the other 2. it all still worked out perfectly fine even though there were mistakes, we just all lost a lap. but we will be improving things for Bathurst :)

Qualifying sessions for the Bathurst 1000 is now open! Good luck everyone! Also, if you cut through the run off at the top of the mountain, please do the right thing and abort your lap :)
