I haven't been able to do any laps since Laguna Seca, but I'll be online for most of the weekend testing and tuning various cars. Everyone is welcome to join me and either check out what I'm doing or join in testing. I'm willing to help everyone out with their tuning as well!

I'll also be online at the our normal race night time, and will be doing some dedicated V8 Supercar practice along with a few short races. :)

I've done some laps around Brands Hatch over the weekend and all the cars seem very close. I was lapping around the 1:25.5-6 mark with all cars with the exception of the Mercedes which I did a 1:25.4

Hey, have the official results been posted yet? Either they haven't or I'm blind. I sure hope it isn't the latter of the two.

We are still waiting on the stewarding to be done before we finalise the results. So you haven't missed anything at the moment! :)

Yes. Thats my team

Awesome! :) I believe your team is in the same class as mine for the GTPlanet Endurance Series. It will be good chance to race against you before that kicks off. All of my team drivers are actually in this series as well! :)

I forgot to ask, are you planning to join us as a full time entry for the remainder of the series or will you be a reserve / wildcard / co driver?

No problems, we understand that not everyone can make it every single week.

I'm in the PrideTEC Motorsports team in the TCN class.

CORE AV8 Update

Hi everyone, it has been a while since I have posted anything, but I have been working hard on a number of things which are included in this post. This will keep everyone updated on what is currently happening in the series.

Community Club
We are pleased to announce that we have created a Club for the CORE Australian V8 Supercar Series in the community section of the Gran Turismo game. Please join this club before next Sunday if you want to race in Round 4 as all races from now on will be run in the club. All drivers who have competed so far have been sent an invite, however if you are unable to accept the invite for any reason, then the Club ID is listed below.

Club ID: 1040138

Series Changes
With the addition of the club, this allows us to make a number of changes to the series in a bid to allow more drivers to take part in the series.

Entry Limits
From now on, there will be no limit on the number places available in the series. The only restriction will be that all drivers must be signed up to the series, have read and understood the rules and regulations, and have a selected car.

Pre-Qualifying
All drivers who wish to take part in a round must take part in the Pre-Qualifying race events before each round. Pre-Qualifying will be a 10 minute Time Trial event held in the week before the race. To Pre-Qualify. Drivers will head to the club, find the Qualifying session event for the upcoming round and enter the event. They are then free to take part in the time trial as many times as they like. If there are more than 15 drivers entered, it will help decide which drivers will be racing in that round. The event will then be closed 6 hours before the room opens, allowing the organisers to sort out the times before the race begins.

Round Eligibility

Places in the field for each round will be assigned as follows:

Places 1-10: Drivers ranked in the top 10 of the championship who have complete Pre-Qualifying.

Places 11-15: The 5 drivers ranked outside of the top 10 in Pre-Qualifying.

Places 16: Person who is recording races for CORE TV

In the event that the person recording the races for CORE TV is in the field for the round, then the 16th place in the round will be assigned to the next fastest car that did not qualify.

If any drivers in the top 10 are unable to take part in a round then their place will be made available to the next fastest driver in Pre-Qualifying.

Drivers can qualify to compete in each round in 2 ways:

  1. Be ranked in the Top 10 in the Series Drivers’ Standings and have taken part in Pre-Qualifying for the upcoming round.
  2. Be one of the fastest drivers in Pre-Qualifying.

Cars
With the changes to the number of spaces available, this means that the process of car selection needs to be altered, with the following rules now in place.

A manufacturer will not be allowed to represent more than 34% of the entries in a series.

If a manufacturer represents less than 15% of the field then that car must be selected before all other cars are made available.

Car Specs
We are also in the final stages of the balancing of the cars following Laguna Seca. The new specs will be announced as soon as they are finalised and hopefully this will mean that we will not have to make any more changes.

Race Results

The race stewards are currently in the process of reviewing incidents from all 3 races at Laguna Seca, so I can assure you that we are very close to finalising the results from round 3 and we will have the Stewards Reports, Results and Standings update in the next few days. We would like to apologize for the delay and also give a thank you to everyone for remaining patient.

Drivers Briefing
We will also have the drivers briefing up in the next few days with all the details for the upcoming Round at Brands Hatch.

Laguna Seca Race 3 Stewards report

Stewards: Memto89, Jonnyb1990, ITZracing, Glenalz81

Race 1

Lap 1 - Killing heidi - MTLA1984 - Racing incident (network issue)

Verdict: NFA

It is known that killing heidi can not see many drivers and MTLA was the unfortunate party due to this issue. Nothing that can be done to avoid it once on track and racing.

Lap 1 - Fullgas62 - Bencrow- - Racing incident

Verdict: NFA

Fullgas runs brakes late and gets into the sand and up on the curb, spinning the car. Ben crow makes contact, nothing could be done

Lap 12 - Mikeylam - Glen-alz81 - TBD

Verdict: MikeyIam – Driving Standards Warning (1/3)

Mikeylam does leave just enough room but it is so minimal that it does force Glen-Alz-81 into the dirt, losing a small amount of time

Race 2

Lap 1 - Killing heidi - Fullgas - Racing incident

Verdict: NFA

Killing goes wide and spins infant of fullgas leaving no where to go.

Lap 2 - Memto89 - GTP_Bambi – Racing Incident

Verdict: NFA

While it was a dive into the corner by Memto, there was no contact until right on the exit of the corner, where minor contact was made in what looks to be a very minor overlap. This does not cause damage to Bambi

Lap 3 - Memto89 - GTP_Bambi -

Verdict: Memto89 – Driving Standards Warning (1/3)

While it is clear Memto is struggling with dirty tyres, he should have taken more care to allow Bambi racing room since his car is clearly alongside. While no serious incident is caused it could easily have been a big accident.

Lap 3 - ITZRacing - Memto89 - GTP_Bambi - Racing incident

Verdict: NFA

After being forced off Bambi rejoins and is still with memto, ITZ is still with the 2 camaros and since both have dirty tyres the ford takes advantage of the situation and dives through the middle of them. No drivers report damage and no time lost.

Lap 3 - Glenalz81 - Octimuscrime1 - Racing incident (Network)

Verdict: NFA

It is clean from the cars reaction that glen can not see octimuscrime on track and therefore drives a normal line, causing damage to octimus.

Lap 3 - Octimuscrime1 - Glenalz81 - Avoidable contact

Verdict: DQ - Driving standards warning (1/3)

Intentional contact is never accepted in CORE. You can not take matters into your own hands risking the race of other drivers. If there is contact, the stewards will deal with it accordingly.

Lap 8 - Memto89 - ITZRacing – Racing Incident

Verdict: NFA

Memto89 goes for a late lunge and ITZ closes the door, memto tries to pull out of the move while still defending his 2nd place, minor contact is made with no damage to either car.

Lap 11 - Part 1 - Memto89 - GTP_Bambi - ITZRacing – Racing Incident

Verdict: NFA

all 3 cars are racing for first place, the 2 cameros are bump drafting down the straight, going into turn 1 memto89 locks up slightly pushing bambi wide and ITZ moves out the way after seeing the move coming. Bambi takes the lead coming out of the corner and all 3 cars no damage.

Lap 11 - Part 2 - Memto89 - GTP_Bambi - ITZRacing – Racing Incident

Verdict: NFA

GTP_Bambi runs off track with the left side wheels, memt89 gets a run up the inside on the next turn and Bambi begins to run wide with dirty tyres, getting up over the curb on exit and spinning into the path of the closely following ford.

Race 3

Lap 1 - Fullgas62 - Santu929 - Racing incident

Verdict: NFA

Fullgas gets on the power a little to soon after running slightly wide, meanwhile santu is running wide on a different line, the both come together and damage is caused to santu. The incident was caused by the half spinning fullgas not in full control.

Lap 1 - GTP_Bambi - ITZRacing - Avoidable Contact

Verdict: 90 Secs

Very late on the brakes Bambi causes substantial damage to the ford in front.

Lap 1 ITZRacing - GTP_Bambi – Racing Incident

Verdict: ItzRacing Driving Standards 1/3 - While it is difficult to determine if Itz has enough control for this to be A/C, the fact that he is driving so carelessly when there are other cars so close is not acceptable.

Lap 2 - Santu929 - Track Limits

Verdict: No Penalty

While Santu929 does cut across the inside of the kerb at one point, he also moved back on to the track mid corner which effectively negated any time he could have gained by his minor corner cut.

Lap 2 Santu929 - GTP_Bambi - Avoidable contact/Unsafe rejoin

Verdict: 90 secs

Santu spins at the corkscrew and as Bambi comes over the top and through Santu is fully on the throttle attempting to rejoin the race. In this instance you must remain stationary until the track is clear of cars so that you can safely rejoin without causing damage to other racers.

Octimuscrime1 - Text box

Verdict: 10 Point Penalty

It has been stated many times not to use the text box during a race. This use of the text box causes Bencrow to go off in avoidance of a slow moving car on the apex. It is not acceptable behaviour and is deemed rude and selfish to do so during a race.

Killing-Heidi – Text Box

Verdict: 10 Point Penalty

Use of text box was also present in this case so the same penalty is being consistently applied to all drivers break the rules by using the text box or headset during the race

Notes

1.If you make contact with someone and it is avoidable contact, waiting for them to return to the track will not allow you to wave the penalty. This is racing and if you do wait for someone you are taking it upon yourself to lose that time.

2.The round is scheduled at a precise time, CORE will do everything to deviate from the set time as little as possible as people have things to do and schedule time out of their day to race. It is not fair on the collective as a whole if one person is having network issues and has not done all the pre race checks and procedures, only turning up 10 mins before qualifying and then finding out they are having issues. Next time make sure you have all devices connected to the WIFI turned off and have done everything in your power to solve all network issues before you join the lobby. At least then we know that if there are any more issues that the issue does not lay with the individual. CORE has a responsibility to keep to the time presented, and all racers have a responsibility to perform their checks before the race.

3.From now on, all incident reports must be submitted within 48 hours of the conclusion of the racing, regardless of whether you had a clean race or not. With back to back races coming up it is important that we have stewards reports, race results and standings completed as soon as possible before the next round.

The bump didn't appear to be that bad on my end but I guess latency magnified it. I accept the penalty, and I will continue to improve my racecraft to ensure it doesn't happen again. :)

Killing-Heidi – Text Box

Verdict: 10 Point Penalty

i kinda wish i was let off the hook for this. although i'll take it.
i have never ever used text box in a race. nor in Qualifying.
i spoke up at the start of Qualifying, basically wanting it reset.
at the start of Qualifying, the track had not changed from practice,
meaning, stuff like signs i use for braking points were still knocked down.
it did not create fresh for me. i wouldn't call that very fair tbh.
so yeah, i spoke out only at the start of Qualifying, not the middle or the end,
the start. the 10 Point Penalty just tops off the worst race round ever for me.

I understand your frustrations but the rules are there to be followed and we have to apply them consistently to all drivers to avoid further disputes if we are seen to be playing favourites with particular drivers. We had considered a range of penalty options, but the points penalty allows us to be consistent with the application of it as a time penalty would've meant that you were penalised, while Octimus would have basically gotten away with it because he didn't finish the race that he used the text box in.

We have just a couple of things to mention this week before racing begins.

Race Starts

There were a actually very few incidents at the start of races, but please ensure you maintain caution at the beginning of each race as no one wants to have their race destroyed by an incident on the first lap.

Pit Lines

While there should not be any pit stops needed, all drivers must make sure they do not cross the white line while exiting the pit lane and ensure they filter into pit lane properly as well.

Connection Issues

To ensure all competitors have the optimum connection, please make sure you clear the cache before the race night begins and turn off all other devices connected by wifi. It is each drivers responsibility to ensure this is done.

Car BoP

This week we will have an updated BoP. This will be the BoP for this week at least, with confirmation coming as to whether this will be the BoP for the remainder of the series in the next 24 hours.

The BoP is as follows:

BMW: 510hp 1460kg
Chevrolet: 520hp 1480kg

Hi all, well once again, i'm probably going to not make it home in time for this . . . weekend just gone would have been ideal! But such is life ... I'm racing in Coffs Harbour (about a 5.5hr drive) from my place and racing probably won't finish up til around 5pm on the Sunday . . . so . . . i'll just surrender my spot to someone else . . . which is a shame as I really like Brands Hatch and i've got my internet sorted at last! Oh well . . . such is life I guess . . . Best of luck to my teammate Killing Heidi, go get em mate! - sorry once again i've left you by yourself . . . good luck to all the rest of the guys and I look forward to watch the races on Core TV!

Cheers
Phil (Fullgas)
