hi omnious, do u mind if i change the colour of my evora ? theres 3 black n yellow evoras in the series, so i iwas gonna change mine 2 a colour nobody else is using, if its ok i'll go purple with white wheels, its the xjr-9 purple

Ok RJ, no problem :) see you on Friday and/or Thursday night for a quick practice session? 👍

Sign me up as well.

But on a side note for Trident II, do we really have to do Sarthe on low PP Evos? That track is more boring than watching water evaporate. Something like Suzuka, Laguna Seca or Fuji would be much more interesting for Evo endurance. Fuji even has a long straight as well.

But it doesn't get dark on those tracks :sly:

Actually am I even eligible for the championship since Its started already?

Absolutely, you won't be able to win TI, but the Season is still up for grabs as is TII and TIII (you've already got points on the board for the Club Races)

👍

Oh great 👍 is the championship the Trident endurance championship or are they separate championships. I've been getting confused between the two.

Oh great 👍 is the championship the Trident endurance championship or are they separate championships. I've been getting confused between the two.

The Series is split into 3, each 'tier' ends with an endurance race on one of the 3 big tracks. Championship races consist of 3 single races in each tier, one of which is the TSR Endurance.

Points scored in all races in each Trident determine who wins that tier, points from all Trident's determine the Season Champion.

Championship winner = most points from ALL championship races, Club winner = most points from ALL Club Races.

So there are 3 final winning positions, The overall Series/Season Champion, The Championship Champion and the Club Champion.

The 3 motif being used across the series, hence the TRIDENT naming of the individual championships within the series

👍

Ah right ok super thanks alot for enlightening me 👍 Also I'm looking forward to the next season where maybe I can challenge for overall victor, once I have some more race experience that is.

Really looking forward to this Endurance Race, especially with some very competitive opposition compared to the A.I. dribble... Oh by the way Omnius the wheels on my Evo are actually white not black dunno how i made that mistake :ill:

Got it! White they are, will update tonight 👍

Did some quick settings tests for Spa.

with tire wear off: 2:30.334 Top Speed 241km/h
Average Lap time: 2:31.8xx- 2:32.5xx

Tried to do 10Lap short Races with wear, but I keeps getting kicked out of my Lounge. Laps were mid 2:32.xxx up to kick out.

I only really nailed the (in my opinion) perfect line twice, resulting in two 2:30.xxx times. Usually I'm still losing time in Eau Rouge, Turn 15, and Bus Stop.

had a wee shot of spa in my evo last night and even with the racing hard tyres on i was shocked at the tyre deg i was getting, what are the rest of you guys looking at getting out of a set of tyres laps wise ?

i'm a bit nervous about this one, could turn in to a mare for me if i can't get a decent amount of laps out of a set of rh's.

Try some suspension settings. Camber, toe and downforce play a big role in tyre efficiency. My "long runs" got cut short due to router trouble, that thing has been acting up since i attached the PS3 to it...but after 5 laps i had about 65-70% tyre left. No way I'm getting bye with a two stint race this time ^^

Spa?????? Grrrrrrr. I've been confusing myself.... Really only look at this thread on my iPhone app and I couldn't see the track for this weekend anywhere, then I saw a couple of you talking about La Sarthe so assumed that was it. Then seen the last few posts about Spa and it puts a slightly different angle on things  Have also now noticed the 'Spa' image on page one, which I don't normally click on.

Wasn't really looking forward to 35 laps of La Sarthe at approx 4:30.xxx a lap...... IDIOT.

Omnius - can't confirm just yet if I'll be able to make it on Friday night as I may have a visitor.....but will try to find out ASAP.

Also - think I might have found the root cause for my connection issues recently.... I done the wee DNS trick on my PS3 to switch my Netflix from the UK content to the much more comprehensive and up-to-date USA content, and have kept it at that for my online play. Haven't been online much with GT5 or even MW2 so never noticed a huge difference until racing with you guys last Thursday and Friday evenings.....when I got kicked out of the lobby on both occasions. So will now be re-setting my DNS back to UK before any online play and hopefully that will be the problem sorted ;)

thats not too bad 3rd, i was thinking i'll have to stop twice, and i thought that most of the other guys might get away with 1 so i would struggle but you've put my mind at rest, at least if you have to do 3 stints i will have someone to race ! lol

in another race the other night on deep forest, which is quite tyre hungry, i managed to get 15 decent laps out of a set of racing meds before the wheels fell off ! lol so i was thinking i could get away with 1 stopping but i suppose with 4wd and spas high speed corners thats not gonna be possible, not with racing adrenalin flowing, all the budding jensons will love this event, its tyre watch vrs keeping a decent position !

So got my 10 lap long run in. 25:54.5xx with best lap at 2:31.625 and a visit in the green.

Still undecided on my strategy, on 36 Lap race i would definitely go for 3 stops, but one lap less on used tyres is about 3 secs to account for. If i manage the tires well with a good line throughout the stints, I'm guessing 2 stops should be quicker. My tests show that refueling is also needed, which makes the strategy choice even tougher.

You should really keep an eye on page 1, that's where all the updates, leaderboard and links are  not to mention the season layout :)

Anyway, really good to see people using the thread for pre-race discussions 👍 its quite helpful for everyone if you have tips and advice as we approach the next race each week.

And as you have all picked up on, we'll be racing for roughly 30 minutes longer than normal - a nice twist to the proceedings to really push your driving and strategy abilities

You've got me there with that time!

Base settings = 2:34.713

My main concern at the moment, NOT HAPPY WITH FRONT TYRE WEAR! :nervous:

Back to the garage :sly:

[Update]

Tweaked settings = 2:32.286 (including better tyre wear too!)

Oh, I'm never off page one looking for cars, and specs, and PP/BHP limits, tyre choices - just never dawned on me that the telltale info would be in the images.

Sweet time, btw - think all I could manage there was 2:32.7xx. Still trying to understand all suspension settings though. Very much trial and error - I adjust things without actually knowing what they are gonna do

Spa Tip thats working for me...

Ride Height - F = Low, R = High

Shock Absorber Extension F = Strong, R = Strong
Shock Absorber Compression F = Weak, R = Strong

Spring Rate F = Weak, R = Hard

Wheel Alignment Toe F = In, R = 0
Wheel Alignment Camber F = Negative, R = 0

ARB F = Weak, R = Hard

I'll let you play about with the numbers yourself, to suit your driving style. I find this setup approach to the Evo's 4WD system at Spa to be better than the 'even' setup I used for the first 2 races of the season.

Second session was not as informative as the first one but anyway I managed to improve my best now its 1.30.675 = free run 1.30.585 = race
