Round 1 complete!

What an opener! Many thanks to all who took part, and many thanks to the new drivers who have reignited the CORE GT!

Leaderboards on page 1 updated, I will review the replay and post a race report over the weekend 👍

Lets hope Round 2 is just as much fun as tonight 👍 👍 👍

Still need to find my car any suggestions lmao.

There was 1 or 2 FF cars that ticked all the boxes, but the spectre of understeer was always a concern, then you've got quite a few MR cars to choose, but possibly 1 or 2 good FR cars which will take alot of skill due to the Sports Hard tyre combo!

I'd tell you my drivetrain layout, but I don't want to spoil the surprise :sly:

Thanks for making us new drivers welcome. Really appreciate answering all my newbie questions which helped me get on the grid in time :-)

Good racing tonight and welcome to the newcomers, good to see everyone stick around even if things weren't goin to plan.Let's hope you can all come back for more.

As for my club car I got it down to a choice of 2,one's a little bit quicker than the other, but the others a more enjoyable drive.

Decisions decisions .............

I really enjoyed last nights race, and am now a bit gutted that I didnt continue with my damaged car. I should have carried on and tried to compete with the other cars that were not behaving.

I know that Shin and Jammy wanted to see the replay. Here is my saved file. You will have to click on the link, and then download RPL003 , and paste ALL THE FILES in a folder called SAVEDATA, and then put that folder into another folder called PS3. Hope it works.

Haha no not a Toyota ^^.

And yeah ade you should have joined in the snail race! I carried on when I knew others had the same problem as me. Seems my car was slightly less damaged and I managed to grab a few places near the end!

Yeah I should have done the same, bur when I saw Shin parked at the first chicane, I thought that was the safest thing to do too. But then he came past a bit later on. Seems I missed the fun of the race within the race.:dunce:

It was fun until the leaders were trying to get past. I'm sure I messed up a little, trying to judge how far back they were compared to how close I was to the corner so I'm sorry if I caused problems that way. And I think I may have nudged you at the second Chicane Ade :<

But when you have to brake about 50ft sooner with the duffed brakes it gets hard you know?

I also pretty much gave up trying to get round the second chicane, the car just wouldn't turn left :<

Excellent work ade, prehaps the CORE GT Series could do with a dropbox account for everyone to use? Hmmm..... :)

Fuelmyfire
That'd be a good idea. We could all then access/upload our vids from the races

I'll get onto it! Gives us a place for our exported replays, then if anyone misses a race or is disconnected and for new members who join later will have access to the replays

Plus it will be good for historical account to! 👍

Just to give everyone a target for the Club Race, my best time around HSR (offline - but with tyre/fuel on and real grip) is 1:18.338 1:17.838 :)

Granted we are racing on GVE Reverse - but it was decided it was just to quickly checkout our car performance.

I'll post some GVE R times shortly 👍

From personal experiences having videos of races is a great idea. In the league i help run that has been very successful for almost 2 years now and we are on Season 5 right now. We have videos for every race in our league and are uploaded to youtube and gtplanet now. We even have are own commentater who talks through the whole race its great, it helps bring in more drivers too. Right now we have over 30+ in our dual series league.👍

You know I have been thinking of starting a YouTube channel of gaming and I was going to have the races from the series im in as a part of it, its just taking me time to actually get around to doing it.

Think I found my standard car hehe. Just ran a couple laps with not even tuned it yet and got down to a 112.9.

Edit: Adjusted tranny ran a 112.6xx

hope its not the ACURA HSC (ineligible) its just to fast compared to the others.

Yes around GVE-R. And no its not the HSC, i know that is a concept. Im using a production car.

Edit: Found out my car is perfectly legal :). And still havent did anything to car to use aero yet, will have to see if im faster putting a wing on it and putting some downforce in it hehe. :sly:

Ok tested out my car with aero not much of a difference with or without it. Just car is more stable in rear with it but lose hp having aero but run same times so would rather have it more stable so will keep the wing. I did better my pb a little got down to a 1:12.550. :)

REQUIRED CAR - Club Racing/Northlander

Any 'Standard' Model @ PP 455

Production cars ONLY!
(No race, tuned/custom or concept cars)

Full use of Aero Allowed, Unrestricted Tuning

No 4WD

Oil Change, Engine Re-Builds/Restorations Allowed

Sports Hard Tyres

Just to clarify the cars 'not' allowed - as in not in the spirit of Club Racing. I said No Race, Tuned, Custom or Concept. 3 out of the 4 are straight forward and I don't think anyone has any doubts as to what UCD cars would fall into those catergories...

The one that seems to be causing slight problems is what I mean for the 'Tuned' cars. Prehaps I should have specified it as Tuned/Custom...for example - RUF = Production (as there is no Porsche in GT5), NISMO = Tuner etc...

These are the cars that either were never Homologated or were built in very small numbers - under 200, or purely built for racing then a handful were built to 'homologate' them.

Cars not to be confused as Tuned are 'Performance' models from within a car range from a manufacturer, so the Ford Focus RS, Honda Civic Type R, or Renault Clio V6 etc...

The spirit of Club Racing are cars that you could see as 'mass market/everyday use' that we then tune for racing, be it a base model or a performance model, provided they are not - Race derived, Tuned/Custom, or Concept.

I hope that this clarifies what manufacturer/vehicles are now allowed 👍
