Doesn't work.

Anyway, like I said before, needs more curves.
The overall thing is sexy though and I'm kinda excited to see a new Stingray, finally.

EDIT: And I love the old school cockpit. :D

Clicked the "live" button along the bottom? It's working here.

Wow, new Stingray is a big surprise. Can't believe they got rid of the round taillights though. Seems like they tried hard to make it work then just defaulted to the square shape.

Everything else sits so nicely and I'm hyped on the increased performance for sure. Also, can't wait to see what Pratt & Miller come up with on their redesign and if we'll get to see it debut at Le Mans.

I was completely right. I love the way it looks, every piece is great. Those renders were really worrying me, but they pulled it off in my eyes. I even love the back, which seems to be a bit of a dividing line.

Meh, it looks much better in red, but I'm still not into it. I can see Viper in the front, Ferrari F12/599 in the front, Camaro in the back, and Ferrari/Lotus in the side profile. It doesn't look like a Corvette to me, but it isn't half bad I guess.. glad to see they improved the interior though. I never have liked the name Stingray either.. I don't want to sound like I'm hating on it, especially since I'm a huge Corvette fan.

Since the C7 looks so much like the Viper, I'm going to guess a race version is going to look similar to the race version of the Viper...which I think looks fantastic.

The car seems kind of boring looking to me. It's like they designed a really generic car and slapped a bunch of scoops on it to make it look sporty. I could see it being in a Burnout game or GTA with some name like Qoarvet or something. I wonder how much it has to do with aerodynamics though? It's kinda of like how all really fuel efficient cars looks vaguely like a Prius because that's the most aerodynamic shape.

I'll be curious to see what it can do around a track like Watkins Glen or Laguna Seca though. With it being slightly lighter and stiffer it should be pretty quick.

Much like the initial introduction of the C6, I suspect it will take me a bit of time to really, totally and completely come around to the styling on the car. Initial impressions are good, as Ed Welburn points out, it looks very European. Clearly, they're gunning for the international market on this one. The interior looks great, and seems to strike a good balance between sport and comfort.

What worries me is how segmented the car may end up being. As I stated in the previous post, the only way they're going to be able to keep prices down is dramatically separate performance options on each vehicle. My guess is that the bottom-level car will come pretty well-equipped, but with use lower-quality leathers, smaller wheels/tires, and likely go with a fixed-setting suspension and so on. Not a bad deal, but they know how to make it on a tight budget for people who don't want the fancy things.

...But, they could surprise me, and make everything they mentioned in the video, standard. I look forward to seeing it in a few weeks down in Chicago, and in the mean time, reading as much of the literature as possible.

EDIT: I'm going to go out on a limb and say that, when the car is put into Eco Mode, with the 7-speed manual, it'll achieve 32 MPG on the highway. Unheard of in the sports car market.

Like I said, it's because every one that's ever owned a hot wheel is currently bombarding the site.

But yeah Joey, I think all of us are most interested in seeing just how much quicker this thing is... also - Nurburgring, even though I've learned over time how bad of a measuring stick it really is.

Love the car but hate that black A pillar.

This would make it perfect for me.

I just want to state, that of course the car will be similarities to other two seater sports cars. That's pretty damn obvious, and the constant comparisons to every other car it reminds you of is really just unnecessary, IMO. I.e. ok, we get it. It looks like other cars to you.

lol

C5's are getting 35+ mpg on the highway.

Sure, you can easily manage 30 MPG on a T56-equipped car, but GM is going to be shooting for something in the 30s for both the manual and automatic equipped cars.

The C5 was rated at 17 City, 26 Highway. The C6 managed to do 16 City, 26 Highway.

Anything less than 30 MPG would be very disappointing for the C7, especially when we consider all of the technology that has been dumped into this. Offering the eco-mode, and having more gears than sense should almost guarantee it.

Basically, its exactly like what was in the Viper thread.

It looks very nice from the front (reminds me of the Viper a little) but I'm not sure about that rear. It looks a bit ugly and too big. I didn't like the "Camaro-style tail lights" either.
Lots of vents. That is one cool car.
The worst part of the car is the interior. It looks bad. That steering wheel is horrible. But I wonder where they got the idea for that passenger handle from...
The C7 did not impressed me but I have to say that it looks better than those renderings.
Interestingly the feelings I have for this car are the exact opposite of what I felt when the SRT Viper came out (loved the rear and interior but was a bit reticent about the front). Now I love the SRT Viper and I think it's the best generetion of the car. Now let's see if the new Vette is on par.
