Apparently the Camaro is also slated to receive the LT4 engine, which is supposedly supposed to have 590hp. I've also heard it of being up all the way to 660hp. If that's true, I wonder just how much the ZR1 will have...

Apparently autoblog was gullible enough to think that picture was the real Z06 too... they confirmed it was a Photoshop already but the engine is supposed to be authentic.

People fell for that photoshop?! It's been around before the C7 was even at dealerships.... A corvette forum member photoshopped it at some event months ago.

I found this too, body color trim around the taillights. But I think it makes it look even more like a camaro:

Nice, first time I've seen that. The derpy taillight mascara and exhaust tip cluster are awful; the stock rear end is the only thing holding the car back from being stunningly sharp. It's worse than the Ferrari F12.

I'm going with a wild guess here.... 680hp-720hp. If the LT4 of the C7 Z06 is maybe at 660. The C7 Vette ZR1 should be around the border of the 700hp range, pass the 700hp border into new territory or super close to it 680-699.

Off topic. Anybody doing any Z06(7) and/or ZR1 Vettes tunes on GT6 or Forza 5 yet? 👍 Don't have GT6 yet, but I'm getting it for Xmas, short on cash.

I think that's a bit high for the Z06. Considering the Stingray has 455 BHP, I wouldn't put the Z06 too far past 530 BHP. Going too far decreases the trackability of the car, I don't think Chevrolet will be going into full overload yet before the ZR1.

Off topic. Anybody doing any Z06(7) and/or ZR1 Vettes tunes on GT6 or Forza 5 yet? 👍 Don't have GT6 yet, but I'm getting it for Xmas, short on cash.

The C7 has yet to appear in Forza 5. It'll be there sooner than later, I assume.

I'm thinking at least 550hp for the new Z06 and at least 700hp for the new ZR1. That's my take on it.

The Z06 has more than enough power at 500. Like tunnel-vision inducing levels of power. HP numbers have become nearly meaningless because they just grow and grow these days. I wonder how many people here have driven a 500hp car? It's stupid how fast 500hp can accelerate an average weight car. Excessively, unnecessarily, ludicrously fast. I hope they don't supercharge the Z06.

I hope they dont as well, thats reserved for the ZR1. Ive driven a couple cars over 500hp and they were both very different animals but certainly too much power for the street.

Exactly. Combined with the fact the car will probably be lighter, 500 BHP is more than enough to make a ridiculously fast car. A fancy diff and sticky tires can only do so much to keep your rear end where it's supposed to be.

Not the same thing. Not in the least. The current LT4 is the fifth generation small block, the ones you're thinking of are the third generation versions. None of the parts would be interchangeable.

Not the same thing. Not in the least. The current LT4 is the fifth generation small block, the ones you're thinking of are the third generation versions. None of the parts would be interchangeable.

I know exactly what they are, and the third gen parts were interchangeable with the first gen parts from the LTs so...I thought it'd be nice if they could do the same with fifth gen. Obviously at some point things become to far advanced to work with the old.

I know this as well, do you not see my screen name Seriously though, I have plenty of GM books to know this and that is why I asked why the nostalgia road with engines. If they have shared DNA that differs from the LS then fine, but to do so just to have some relation with the past is annoying. It's obvious that they will recycle names if it be engines or cars, GM will find a way to.

I'm not sure it is a "turbo". Sounds wrong. Add some whine and i would say it was supercharged.
