Sounds like a rear mount kit. STS has a kits for Corvette's where the turbo's replaces the mufflers and have a very distinct sound.

Yes please

That kit looks pretty good! Carbon fibre, four round tail lights, new wheels and brakes, all wrapped up in a C7 "inspired" body. Certainly not cool enough to justify it over a C7, or to make sense of the price tag, but cool nonetheless.

The end result, we can build this conversion on any 2005-2013 Corvette. We will be tweaking the files to fit the C7 chassis as well, which we already determined is extremely similsimilarar to the C6
Not really sure what to say about taking apart a brand new Corvette to make it look like a new Corvette from a parallel universe though. Just seems to be a little bit pointless and expensive.

Some time I really don't understand people reasoning in designing something. I understand that they're looking to feel a void for some Corvette owners but at this level. I would be better if the person go out a buy a C7 instead of spending the money to upgrade a C6.

So you spend 60 grand on making your C6 Corvette look like crap (the rear end is even worse than the actual C7!) rather than just spending 60 grand on the interior (or whatever) of your C6?

So who's the guy that thought driving that kind of car on snow was a great idea?

Well, considering that most of US apparently thinks that all seasons are good enough for snow..

You can get away with driving almost anything in the winter. The problem is do you actually know how to with the car & how to prepare it to do so. Just as an example, the infamous Roy Cats has been driving his car for so long that he's more than aware of how it drives in the snow (& with proper tires of course).

My guess is the Vette owner did not.

Judging by the RF tire, it probably isn't a winter tire. And the driver probably got a bit too exuberant with the gas, and crashed a $60,000 piece of magnificence.

Except they usually aren't too bad.

When you are hurting for money you'll make them last as long as you can and only replace them when its absolutely nessecary and get El cheapos.

Well I just got moved to a new line at work making a new GM transmission called the 8L90. Since that means an 8spd Longitudinal transmission I instantly thought corvette..... Get to the communications board and there's an 8L90 sign right beside a picture of a new stingray. I'd take a pic but that would probably get me fired. Pretty neat though, I'm making C7 parts!

The better to prepare yourself when you get that C7. :sly:

The New Corvette Stingray Will Come With Built-In Instant Replay

So for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, GM is including what it calls its Performance Data Recorder which overlays telemetry, speed, and location data over a 72oP video recording of everywhere you've driven—basically giving you instant replay of your hoonage so you can back up your bragging.

The camera itself is hidden behind the Corvette Stingray's rear-view mirror, and it works alongside an advanced GPS recorder that keeps tab on the vehicle's exact position five times faster than the car's navigation system.

The footage can be reviewed when the vehicle is stopped and parked (after all, watching your instant replay while driving is downright dangerous) or it can be offloaded to your PC and uploaded to YouTube for posterity. Just try and remember that it's safer to go for the 'high score' on your gaming console, than on a highway full of your fellow motorists

My understanding was that it was in development alongside the Corvette the whole time, but when it came time to launch the car, it wasn't ready for prime-time. So, they used the previous 6L80E and transferred it over.

I'm guessing that 8L90E will go not just in the Corvette, but will probably see duty in the new Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade, as well as the refreshed versions of the Silverado/Sierra that will be coming down the pipe soon.

Haha, I suppose but mine will have 3 pedals! :)

Yep, we're making multiple versions of the 8L transmission. There's two versions of the 8L90 right now, one's slightly more compact than the other and we're not mass producing the smaller version as much as the larger version. So my guess is that the smaller compact version will be for the new Vette with it's rear mounted transmission and all. Actually there's a picture on my line of the Stingray and the new Escalade so that pretty answers the question. There's also going to be an 8L45 presumably for other GM rwd platforms. I'm thinking the 5th gen Camaro could benefit from an 8spd auto.

Suddenly, Russia becomes the Corvette capital of the world....

I'd guess that the ATS, Camaro, and if we get that rear-drive Buick on the Alpha chassis - all of those would be using that.
