The new Z28 will be 75k right around where the old Z06 was. I think Chevy is marketing the car as the C6 Z06's replacement, although I'm not too fond of it. The Z28 is just way too heavy for me. This new Z06 looks like it's taking over as top dog Corvette for the time being. Which seems to go with rumors of no immediate plans for a ZR1 just yet.

Following that logic we're looking at, around, a $110k Z06? :indiff:

Wow that front 3/4 looks drop dead gorgeous...

EDIT: After getting off the phone and on my computer, I'll rephrase that. WANT!

Looks nice, but did anyone notice the paddles behind the wheel? The gearstick also has a "manual" pattern! :boggled:
It's possible they could be using the Z06 to also launch a new DCT of some kind. I'm not 100% sure if they will but I won't be surprised if they did.

Call me crazy, but the Z06 looks like it has an automatic with an H-pattern photoshopped to the top. Is it possible Chevy used an automatic for the photos and then altered the photo slightly to hide the fact that it has an auto? Or maybe they're hiding a new dual clutch transmission?

I knew it, I'm crazy.

Weird. It clearly says 'P' on the instrument display, indicating park....meaning automatic. It has paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. It has what appears to be a wide brake pedal and no clutch pedal. And yet the shifter has an H-patter on it. Is Chevy up to no good or what?

The yellow color seems off in that pic, can't wait to see the real one in real lighting.

On the contrary I like that yellow a deep, dark yellow. But as usual with studio photos the lighting makes it seem that way and the Non studio pictures make it look lighter. Same thing happened for me with the Viper.

My Corvette sense is tingling, and it's telling me that everything we see in those photos aren't necessarily the truth.

RE: Transmission

This might be the first Corvette to get the DCT that GM has been working on, but I was unaware that it was this close to being production ready. Similarly, I'd doubt that their new 8-speed automatic would be ready for prime time, yet. Of course, keep in mind, GM has said repeatedly that their automatic in the CTS-V and ZL1 were faster than the manuals.

All of that being said, they won't throw out all of that with the Z06. Hell, I'm still not fully convinced it's a supercharged unit in the car. We'll see.

If the hood bulge is accurate, than the car most likely is supercharged.
