So they have a different look for the first time in 50 years, it's nice to see that not everything needs to stay the same for over 60 years.

Z06's meaty tires

Is this @Slash? We have not seen him in a few days and this is his exact behavior.
Lol, I'm so confused.
Me too. :dunce:

Back on topic I love the tail lights on the C7. I have seen a couple in real life and just wow this car is just mind blowing to see in person. Love it.

Z06 ordering guide PDF file was posted with full specs, the weight listed:
Z06 coupe: 3524 lbs
Z06 vert: 3582 lbs
I suspected ~3400+ lbs but was hoping for under that. A bit disappointed.

Yeah even more so due the ZR1 weighing less than this and 3400 lbs

Here's to hoping for a more hardcore lighter track version Z06, like a fully stripped down edition. Just sucks because the Z06 IS the track version and weighs quite a bit more than the base C7. And a lot more than the C6 Z06 and ZR1.

Exactly, but let's wait on the performance figures we're still holding out for before we really scrutinize. I feel the better aero package and balance will still have it performing quite well. Even with the 200 plus in weight that the ZR1 didn't have that is.

It makes me wonder what they would do if the cars were 2,000 lbs. I'd trade all the HP in the world for more composite chassis.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. In this era, manufacturers are still capable of achieving amazing performance benchmarks whilst carrying close to or more than 4,000lbs.
Well it will still perform amazing. This is a Corvette, a lightweight sports car not a GT, Its just weird seeing a track purpose Vette at over 3500 lbs. The thing that will help the C7Z with the added weight is the high downforce it provides and the C7's new rigid chassis and suspension. But as the track version you'd expect the weight to be kept down, so the 3500 lbs was a little surprising compared to the previous C6Z at 3100+ to ~3200 lbs and ZR1 at 3300 lbs. On the track, weight just eats up brakes, tires, takes longer to stop, and more mass to throw around corners. I was just hoping for low ~3400lbs, or under for wishful thinking.

One thing that's cool if I'm looking into it correctly is you can order a base stage 1 Z06 and have the "Z07" aero added as an option. Previously I thought only the stage 3 would have the Z07 aero package.

You were hoping for a low 3,400lbs. car & the Z06 tipped the scales at 3,524. I think that meets your wish close enough at a 100lb. difference.

Sorry, I meant I was expecting low 3400, but was hoping for under in the 3300 range. Either way I know they can only do so much with added comforts, new tech (vvt, etc) and to keep the cost down without going crazy on weight saving material that would drive the price up.

No, but since it is also news regarding the C7 (not just the C8) I figured to post it in here would be a good/better idea.

No because your link basically is quoting what was quoted in that thread, the actual motor trend article which talks about the C7 ZR1 being mid engine (if one were to even come out). It also talks about the C8 being standard mid engine if I remember correctly. I mean it's fine to think that but there is an entire thread already about it and people are going to tell you to go their too.
