For the money being asked for a C7, admittedly, there's a few other cars I would shoot for, some even just slightly more expensive.

I think the C6 Z has probably won my decision though as to what I can gets hold of.

Yeah if one can be had for a real bargain I'd seriously consider it.

Eh, these things happen.

How's $40K for ones anywhere from 20-30K on the odo & around 2007-2009? Not a ton out there, but some really great Sunday driver examples hitting the market. Centennials are still ridiculous, though.

GM is claiming some big numbers for the C7 Z06. For the automatic, the car is supposed to hit 0-60 in 2.95 seconds along with a 10.95 (@127 mph) second quarter mile. The manual is claiming to hit 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and is expected to to the quarter in 11.2 seconds (also at 127 mph.) The Z06 is also claiming to stop fast as well- the 60-0 distance is claimed to be 99.6 feet. This is per Car And Driver magazine.

Well goddamn.

Yeah the prices are getting better. There's an '08 with 7,000 miles for $45k

I almost bit on an '07 Z with 17k miles, had long tube headers, cam, corsa exhaust, upgraded seats, carbon fiber hood, and upgraded suspension. $41k.

I was looking at another one in yellow, similar mileage and price but was supercharged (I'd prefer N/A).

Ideally I'd like bone stock low mileage (around 8-10k) and do my own mods but if the price is right with the mods and lowish miles I'd be fine with that.

I love the C7 Z06 so it would be a bitter sweet purchase.

When a $100,000.00 car is compared to a $1,000,000.00 car...you know something special has happened. Let alone that this Corvette is miles beyond the Porsche 911 GT3, and way ahead of the GT-R (both of which cost over 40-50 grand more). This IS America's supercar. :D

Yeah, the performance is pretty darn impressive! And build quality and interior are supposedly far better than previous generations, too. I just don't get why people are hating on the car so much just for hailing from America :indiff:
That's the point. It gets bashed because fanboys look at it and say "It's American so it sucks." Those same fanboys would worship it like the GTR if it was built by a Japanese or European manufacturer. As for me, I hope that it can run at least a 7:10 on the Ring, but I'll be contempt with a 7:15. Then I hope that I can make $100,000 so I can have half a chance of affording a C7 Z06.

I think the main issue is people aren't ready to accept the fact (probability maybe) that this is an actual idea which has been finally made.
A lot of the new C7 project has been able to happen due to endurance racing and the feedback they are given..

GT-R NISMO, yes. Normal GT-R, no.

Subtle is probably not the best word to describe the C7 Z06.

Well, the Z06 will start at a tad bit over 70k. The GT-R has risen to over 100k for even just a standard model. So he's actually almost right.

Has anyone besides the publications even seen the base car yet?

In 1995 could any of us have imagined Corvettes and Mustangs with over 600hp and costing not much more money than they did in 1995, in some cases including inflation? It's pretty damn remarkable. (A Mustang Cobra cost about $30,000 in 1995, or just shy of $50,000 today, while a Corvette ZR-1 cost a heavy $70,000+ in 1995, equivalent to $115k today)

Nevermind just the power; they handle better, they are better on mileage and emissions, are better equipped, and safer too. Yet some people seem to think this isn't a great age for performance cars...

Refinement, materials, and quality of construction are on another dimension. Ever sat in an SN95 Mustang? It's not much better than a kit car...

Motor Trend uploaded their track test of the Z06. Impressive. Appearently, you'll need a Porsche 918 if you want to beat it on the track. That's... Bewildering.

So they were going to make a huge, high-revving engine, but scrapped it due to emissions? THANKS, OBAMA.
