@Eyeseeh50 - dude, totally off topic...but do you own "Book Of Souls"? Is that not the best IM album since Seventh Son? Freakin' awesome if you ask me.

'Kay, that's all. Thanks for listening...

I don't have" book of souls ", Iron Maiden isn't my sort of music I'm afraid. For me it's Pink Floyd, Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream and a whole load of synthesizer artists you have probably never heard of :)

Well I had a quick run through some of the Finland stages this evening. I came out the other side with a huge smile. It's mental fun in the Integrale. I have a feeling it's going to be a very hard fought rally for the top spot. The speeds are so huge, the chance of a BIG accident are high.

I can't wait to get started 👍👍👍

Stage 1 - disaster. Was a whopping 46 seconds off the pace. Wasn't going really well and then in an effort to save face and hit the jump, a snow bank got me not ten meters in front of the jump. Rolled it a few times and lost my rear left.

Stage 2 - Decent. Helped my confidence. I was 4 100ths off the fastest stage time.

Stage 3 - Maybe 25% into the stage, I was moving along swimmingly in fact, and all of the sudden, some invisible snow goblin, or yeti ripped my front right tire off. Drove the rest of the way on the rim. Lost an additional 35 seconds. I don't know what the hell that was that tore my tire off. I hope that beast and I never meet again.

11th after half the rally. Terrible. As a Canadian stinkin it up in the snow, rest assured, there will be corporal mortification this evening.

I could've sworn I saw an "Eddy" as your avatar shot on this. Meh....no worries. I won't judge you :)

Gilmour has some of the best tone ever, so yeah, I dig it!

Do you mean stuff like "Eat Static"? from your neck of the woods. Or "Cosmosis"? That Bilbo dude is ridiculous...Anyway, I digress...

Back to the road!!:gtpflag:

Rally Sweden official statement:

JDM_V0RT3X7373: "Overall, a great win. Can't complain. The car felt good and I was able to get into a good rythym in the first half of the rally, which is what ultimately won me this rally. Some minor mistakes on stage 4 dropped me down a few seconds and a disastrous stage 5 where I rolled once and had many mistakes, surprisingly only down 4 seconds in that one, I guess everyone else struggled with that one too. Stage 6 was similar to stage 4. The combination of the night and snow really threw me off. It was so difficult to see. Luckily I created a very large gap in the first half, so I had a nice safety net.

Hopefully we can carry this momentum into Finland. You have to be perfect there as well as brave. With it being such a fast rally, the margin for error is very small and even one small error can cause a retirement. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. "

@mr_VOLCANO wins the jump competition. :D:tup:

I didn't even send one in, because I was so flustered by that stage haha. I was over 40 seconds up at the halfway point, but those last few stages kicked my ass. The same thing happened in Monte, I hope this doesn't become a trend.

Yeah I was the same, came to the jump and thought I don't want to lose everything with a big jump which goes wrong so was cautious over it and wasn't worth recording.

Well Rally Sweden seems to have been well received with 29 competitors starting and 23 finishers. Well done to everyone who took part.
I thought the tough conditions might have deterred people but we had a far better finish rate than we did with Monte Carlo.
Next up we have the flat out fun of Rally Finland.

I officially suck at Dirt Rally. I'm one of those who participated in the last 2 events but DNF :banghead:
I love this game though. Its tough as hell but such a pleasure to drive when you get into the rhythm of things.
Respect to those who are brilliant at this game and set such competitive times :gtpflag:

Thank Heavens I don't have to think about Sweden anymore. I struggled mightily. That said, it was great to see so many competitors. Congrats to the winners and everyone else who managed to finish. Speaking of "Finnish"...See you all at the 1000 Lakes Rally!!!

These post-race commentaries are AWESOME, @VORT3X7373!!!

I made it to the third stage of rally Finland before high speed death, though I feel three stages is far to far apart for services, the escort is gonna be strong here, my biggest complaint is the codriver, pace botes are either way to early or way to late, at the end of the first stage there's a straight followed by a jump then 4 right across the finish, I needed to know the 4 right was there before the jump, I flew straight past and had a tremendous crash and I'm sure before then it was going to be a top 5 stage time,

I'm sorry you think 3 stages is too much between services, I was trying to make it a bit of a challenge between going flat out and being conservative to save the car. I will mix it up, some long gaps and some short gaps between services.
