CRAP DiRT Rally Club [PS4] Racenet League Events live

Had a bit of a blast up the first stage of the new season in the Audi Quattro. It's not the fastest car but I think it's more stable and you have just got to love the sound of that straight 5 engine.

I've been trying to learn how to drive with Lancia 037 and that car is so far the hardest car to handle. I'm enjoying the challenge but I'm not expecting too many podiums this season. :)

What a bad start for me. :banghead:

My target before the rally was to enjoy the rally in the car (Lancia Delta S4) and to set some encouraging times. On the first stage I had a good run. But on the 2nd stage, I lost the control over the car and I had to retire.
I don`t believe I`ll have any chances in Sweden to finish the rally in the Top 5.

It`s very upset, because Monte-Carlo is one of my rallies, where I`ve looked the most for.

Really tricky rally it felt like I was driving at granny speed most of the way, I know that the second you try a little bit harder you'll end up crashing though. Somehow I managed to get all the parts at 100% going into the power stage but then rolled twice and had another spin, with the news points rules that will be costly.

Hi everyone! I've made a simple resolution for new years... Start racing again! SO I got the wheel back out of storage and set things up. ALso got a new GPU and a Rift in that time... Had quite the time racing last night! Anyway, had some hard drive failures and whatnot since last I played. Seems I lost all my data for the game. Not sure if I can link to my account and get it back. I am thinking not. When I get home I'll figure out what I can do with Racenet and my game and then sign up for the league.
Curious, how often, if at all,do you guys hold RallyX events?

I've just picked up WRC 6 for £19.99.

Do you know that it still hasn't released in North America? I can't think of a company that fits the word "inept" quite like BigBen. The biggest market with the most disposable income on the planet I suppose isn't a good enough market for them. I'm less than impressed with that company. Even more so than after having bought WRC 5 only to found out that my wheel wouldn't work...

It doesn't matter if you have no game saves, the way the league is set up means we can't use our personal crew and cars, level playing field for all.

Halfway through the rally, really intense but all going well, leading @GOTMAXPOWER by a steady margin. And then:

I believe the technical term is 'bollocks'. Wouldn't be so annoyed if I hadn't been THAT close to getting the car stopped and simply reversing back out. :banghead: Oh well, you win some you lose some. If last season's Monte is anything to go by, at least there's a chance barely anyone will finish and I won't lose that many points.

That is really unlucky, just a few inches away from hitting the tree which would've stopped the car before the drop.

oh... crap.... I just realized you guys are on the ps4. Thats the second league that #PCmasterrace crapped all over me.

... when I first started doing these championship seasons I stated that I wanted to keep it as close to a real rally as I could.
Is there a reason why power stages are always done in the dark? In real life those are always done around noon in broad daylight.

Sorry just me thinking up new challenges. From now on, ie the next full season, I will make sure that power stages are during daylight.

AlfettaGTV must've had a great rally to get to the end, that Metro is a really tough car to drive. I don't think we've ever had such a tough rally as this, of 27 starters only 7 have safely made it to the end so far.

Made it to the 2nd to last stage........... in 6th. I am at a loss of words in the 3rd sector 🤬 broke through a fence and went off a cliff. I don't even know how.

I'm impressed with Mr Manuelos getting an Opel Manta into the top five! Well done.
Didn't touch Dirt rally since last season. Didn't wanted to take one of the 4x4 monsters because it would only lead to frustration :) Took the Manta out for 2 runs on the shakedown and it felt quite "easy" and predictable to drive. Good car, good fun 👍

So round one is over, and as has been commented on, it seems to have been carnage out there! Out of 34 starters only 12 crossed the finish line!

Lets start with the overall championship standings

The 4 wheel drive class looks like this

The 2 wheel drive class only has one competitor so far,

Finally the power stage results

I have a feeling this season is going to be hard work for everyone! Its good to see fairly large numbers starting the event but I hope so many retirements doesn't put people off trying the other events in the season.
Our league membership is almost at 150 so that is encouraging!

Hmmmm do I stick with 4wd or do I give myself a real challenge and compete against @GTP_Manuelos  for the 2wd class?:ill::lol:
I had a test drive of the Manta over the weekend and Im slowly getting to grips with Rwd in the game. Of-course Sweden is a totally diferent ball game!

All I can say is...I have a whole new-found respect for @Manuelos ...and yourself for even thinking of it. I can't drive RWD in DiRT. The only way I can keep them on the road is by going WAY too slow to call it racing...

You are not going to like next season with the 80's class of car then I guess!
Seriously, give the little Renault 5 turbo a try. I think it's a very neutral handling car for mid engine rear wheel drive.
Oh and well done on second place by the way.

The Opel is quite a nice car to drive, I was expecting it to be all over the place like the Lancia 037 but it's pretty balanced (on asphalt at least). It's kind of like the Audi Quattro in that it's more predictable (of these Group B beasts) but can't match the pace of the monsters like the Peugeot.

btw I don't understand the 4WD standings, 6 who finished the rally don't have points
