Create Custom Driver Avatars skin color options, Or A variety of Drivers to choose from in GT 7

this post is retarded. You can seriously tell a drivers ethnicity with a race suit and helmet on? female drivers I would agree on, but it's a small thing.

also GT5 had Bspec drivers with japanese names, which obviously show that they are not european. So that already makes this thread pointless.

It's pointless because Caucasian B-Spec drivers had Japanese names? :D

It's not a necessary thing, obviously, and the Japanese programmers didn't seem to care that their basic driver model (whose face can be seen in rally helmets) is Caucasian and not Japanese, but having a simple face palette swap would add a lot to the customization of the game.

Its Just like having an avatars anywhere else. PSN sign in let's you pick skin tone, gender, outfits. I guess that's pointless too.

Oh wait, let me add this :) so I don't offend anyone.

Are we sure it be definitively confirmed that's Caucasian?

Also, I just question this because for a massive amount of time you aren't looking at your driver's skin color and neither is anyone else. It just seems like a visual customization should be something you can immediately and right there as your playing (Wings, body color, numbers, wheels), not just briefly in some menu only you can see.

The GT5 drivers were definitely Caucasian. GT6, we can tell they're white, at least.

Yeah, it doesn't matter that much now, but given we've been given the ability to doll up and pose our drivatars, having the option for different skin tones and body types, mated with the option to have a fully open-faced helmet or even a classic leather cap, would make for a lot of fun in that area.

Like I've said... it probably won't take nearly as much time as a single car model, since this isn't a high-poly job.

DriveClub to my surprise has different ethnicities and even genders. Who's to say GT can't have such a thing?

Its not a problem. It's called personalisation. The "special" suits allow us to race the cars assigned to those real life drivers. We even have "people" waving flags and sending us on our way at Goodwood? Why even show people?

It's taken PD time to model them. Look at GT4 Grand Canyon. That stage has muti-ethnic people in it. All they'd need is about 5 shades from peach to Brown. Generic male and female shape. Done.

Oh, and let's not forget GT5 Photo Mode Location with that panting Labrador. If PD can make people riding bbicycles and trams, an avatar is not hard to implement.

I don't see how this is an absolute necessity when you can barely see your own driver's features most of the time.

Personally, I don't feel it's an absolute necessity. If it never happens I'm not boycotting PD/Sony. It's the OP thoughts on an observation. We may not see the face while driving, but there is photomode uses as well.

"You"(your avatars) could take a pic next to your real car in the game. Just like you can add an avatar in the setting. How cool is that?! :)

Add in player body and face customizing, like that in PES, and the ability to take our helmets off in Photomode, and it would be cool. The ability to dress something other than racing gear in Phototravel would be awesome.

I would add however, that if they ever expand the options for your driver further than they already are in GT6, it would be logical to add the ability to select certain features such as Gender and Race.

But there is a problem, by your own words, the problem is personalization. I'm not here to say that personalization isn't a good thing just that what we're discussing [the avatar] plays little to no role in this game, making personalizing it somewhat a waste of time. I'm all for "video game equality" but in a game where has a primary focus of driving, I'd say this is a non-issue.

You say "All they'd need is about 5 shades from peach to brown. Generic male and female shape. Done." That isn't "done". What about black? What if someone is a teen or child playing? Do those groups get "discriminated" (and I'll use that loosely) against to please a few?

If a game allows personalization of a character or avatar, they have to get pretty in-depth in order to not "offend" anyone. This is why most games stray away from this concept, there are way too many different people to please and it's gonna be a helluva hard time pleasing everyone - even with using generic parts which can often offend more than please.

So like I mentioned before, the avatar plays almost no role and is just that, an avatar. Cover him/her up so there are no identifiable features and let us do more customization to their suites (the part that's widely visible), I'd say that would please more people than offend.

^^This is why aliens don't talk to us.

I already typed if it's not in the game(which it's not), I have no problem with it.

What about "black"? I'm North American, whose descendents came from the Caribbean and whose descendents came from Africa. No one in my family is "black"(trust, I'm not PC and I'm not offended if anyone chooses to refer to me as black[man]) that's a whole other thread.

Vettel's and Gordon's likeness are in the game. Even The Stig was in the game. No one has a problem driving as Senna. Does anyone(in this forum)? If we could drive as Kaz, I don't think anyone would mind driving his likeness in the game. So, why can't I drive a representative of me?

Age? It might work with karting. The thread is about "needs" ethnicity. It doesn't. But there sure are many virtual Gran Turismo world people in the game.

.........Got it all figured out. Just. Use. Ya. PlayStation. Camera. Like in NBA2K15. Heh. Your Life-like visage as your avatar. Done. :D

So because a game which has its drivers in street clothes all the time has it, it automatically means a game where the driver is always suited up in a firesuit with a helmet should?

I didn't say nor imply that it's an obligation.

Rather it's not an issue of they can't, they can.

Which is not what I'm saying (Hence why I said "Should"). I'm not arguing they can, I'm question why they should. You can't even see the face most of the time so why does it even matter?

I'm sorry, but what difference will this make? As far as I can tell (apart from the real life modeled race drivers), All I see is a helmet and suit so what exactly is the big deal here? Its a silly idea if you ask me and this is coming from a black racing fan. Are the flags not enough for you?

Also, "Nationality of Driver Attributes?" That just seems like its asking for trouble.

And finally, that's a terrible example of a Woman Driver you have posted (read here to see why).

Edit: I seem to notice that you are only showing Black drivers yet you want diversity.

Some Helmets are open faced helmets in GT6 and you can see the color of the driver, and also you can see the ethnicity of the driver in the community photos with a closed helmet, Drive Club has a variety of ethnicity drivers, and I only showed black drivers as proof that they do exist in all forms of auto sport, but it's not reflected in the games we pay for. It should not be trouble to do, we have options to color the cars, Choose the Helmet, and Race suit, so it is possible, why can't we color the drivers to look more like the player?

I honestly find the use of a v10 sample on an aventador way more offending than the lack of multi-race drivers.
