The Aquila Ace is a dynamic, exciting supercar. It is available as a two seat coupe or convertible, with a balanced RWD chassis. It can be had with a slick 6 speed manual or a racy 7 speed dual clutch gearbox. It's designed for the gentleman enthusiast, who might use his Ace to commute to work on a nice day, dissect a mountain road on a summer evening, or take it to the limit on the racetrack on Sunday. Comfortable enough for everyday use but equipped with a high revving 550 bhp V12 and lightweight construction and materials, the Ace has breathtaking performance.

The spacious 4 seat coupe or convertible body and commodious boot make for easy long distance travel. The car is dynamic and poised on the road, but supple and relaxing to drive when cruising.

__________________________
Total: 4200 credits

As I am far under budget, I have agreed to lend Paula Deen Motors 3850 credits to help them cover their debts. The terms and conditions of the agreement are as follows:

The amount of the loan is 3850 credits. The loan will be fully repaid with interest in 8 quarters. After 4 quarters at least 1500 credits must be repaid. The interest rate will be 5 percent, therefore the total amount owed comes to 4042.5 credits. If Paula Deen Motors is unable to fulfill any of these terms, the company must either file for bankruptcy or relinquish a 51 percent stake in the company to Aquila Motors.

Expenditures - 4200 cr
Loan to PDM - 3850 cr

^That's what I like to see.

What would hatchback and wagon bodystyles cost?

The same as coupes and sedans; I'll add them to the list.

Grayfox, Jahgee, Durwinning, BMan, CaptAir, Danny, Beeblebrox, and Psycho, welcome! I couldn't find any major problems with your starting posts. Because we had three players before midnight EST last night, I'll say the game started then. I'll give everybody their sales and profit information at the end of every quarter.

Psycho: You can go into debt, but I wouldn't reccomend it, especially at the start of the game. Looks like you are covered by Beblebrox, however.

Beeblebrox: Model descriptions are good- I probably should put them on the form anyway.

EDIT: I'm going to start writing the profit superformula, and I will use it when I give Q2 results tonight.

Psycho: You can go into debt, but I wouldn't reccomend it, especially at the start of the game. Looks like you are covered by Beblebrox, however.

It's not me that spent more than 10k. Looks like it was Danny who Beeblebrox is loaning money to.

Do we have to be a car company? Or can we be a tuning firm? (Such as Quattro GMbH, AMG///, STi, Nismo, Brabus, etc.)

Or you guys could play Automation.

But I guess this works...
I don't have the money to but Automation. If I did you would see me less on GTPlanet and more on Automation.

Or you guys could play Automation.

But I guess this works...

I'd have bought it if the demo hadn't 1) slowed my laptop to a crawl and 2) gotten very tedious very fast. I'd rather stare at the non-game known as the Sims than tedious tinkering for no reason. Perhaps the full game is better, but I will need something better than this bottom-dollar bit I'm working with.

This on the other hand can be quick, done in an hour, and the fact that it's on an active forum means it has built in multiplayer!

BOT: I'm intrigued. I need something to fill dead time, but I have questions, and more than "what's the profit formula"
  1. If a brand goes bust, can the proprietor start from scratch or would they have to work with/for someone else?
  2. By 'Large Truck' are you talking lorry/tractor or a heavier pick up? I THINK the former, but my thoughts are generally wrong. If so, a Heavy-duty pickup would be nice as well, at least for those who use them(me IRL).
  3. After a time, can we branch off and resemble the big boys of today like Toyota and GM?
  4. Possibly tying into Q1, will there be a unit cost for everything? Maintenance for facilities?
  5. As we build, can we change names if we feel it no longer fits the brand?
  6. Could we upgrade the pieces(engine,trans,etc) to better stats?
  7. Lastly, what about trying to create something not on the list, say for some nostalgic sucker wants a 2-stroke engine?
Also, @Danny ,why would you make me laugh so hard! @The Stig Farmer , for a sign-grabbed name, that one works well. Rolls of the tongue easily.

I don't need to.

There's already a company who caters to my tastes.

The only company I would want, is one who can reproduce old vehicles.

Model Name: Jahgee ObligatoryMoneymaker
Trim Levels:
Body Style(s): SUV Body Style
Engine(s): Hybrid I4 engine
Drivetrain(s): F4
Transmission(s): 6 Speed Automatic
Location of Factory: Charlotte, NC
Description (optional): The SUV that every company has now a days that's only purpose is to make mone
Cost of Development (see below): 1100 CR

Total CR: 1350 CR

The profit formula will remain a secret- player knowledge of it may lead to cheating. It uses randomly generated numbers, so don't bother to figure it out yourself. A player who started in the middle of Q2 will have their first profits at the end of Q3, their first full quarter.

Q2 2014 Profits

@ItGivesYouWings 1650cr
@Grayfox 450cr
@Jahgee1124 50cr
@The Bman 360cr
@DurWinning 250cr
@Capt Air -20cr

It will help if your company is bigger, and has more outreach. Just because your profits are low doesn't mean they can't be turned around.

Do we have to be a car company? Or can we be a tuning firm? (Such as Quattro GMbH, AMG///, STi, Nismo, Brabus, etc.)

Not at the moment, but you can always add a tuning firm to your existing company.

@DurWinning Yes, a muscle car is a coupe. Unless you are talking about modern chargers.

@BKGlover
1. Either/Or
2. The Former.
3. Yes.
4. Yes, they are variables in the formula.
5. Of course.
6. Yes, by spend more on design and development than the listed cost.
7. I'll probably handle it case-by-case.

I'm very pleased with how many players joined- I never thought it would be this popular at the start. Thanks to all who have given your time and thought.

Well, I'm on eastern time, so 72 minutes, but I'll pretend this was posted yesterday and formulate you tomorrow night. It normally would be sat. night, because the cars need time to go on sale.

So the Random Number God has been implemented? Well 🤬.

I'm going to assume a few things here, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong:
  • Spending more on development will probably not have a linear progression, so the law of diminishing returns is also in effect.
  • We can go back to an item and do more research later.
  • Some form of supply/demand has been implemented.
  • Location isn't killer, but can make a difference.
  • Metric measurements recommended.
BTW, I took the liberty of going back and looking at the "Create a Nation" threads. Proceeded to reach post 8 before I knew how much better an idea this is than those were. No offense, but the Nations had too many variables and unknowns, at least with this we are looking at something resembling real life now, even if scaled down.

PS: I'm in. Shark, HarrBol, Texas is big enough for three of us, right?:sly:
