Should we have to pay for a booth to display our cars at shows and conventions?

Phoenix Automotive is delighted to announce the Phoenix Flash Concept. Our 2-Door entry into the sports car market to compete with the Corvette, California, and Viper. The vehicle will be showcased at the Detroit and Geneva Auto Show.

I have to ask. Will their be any chances of any vehicles being recalled for mechanical purposes?

VAR is proud to showcase the first model of the remanufactured Mustang to roll off the assembly line. It will showcased in our headquarters, in a 100% glass box, suspended in the air.

Wonder if it's possible to go bankrupt.

Actually, that raises a question for me as well:
  • If someone does start going under, can we sell facilities to liquidate assets and regain some stability?
  • If so, would we have to sell to the competition here, or does it just go away, or are both possible?

BEEN THINKING EDIT: About the auto shows, I think 4 need to be chosen (one per quarter) and there bee a flat fee of 100cr. to get a spot in the show, then 50cr. for each actual car shown. Different trims are different cars, so each variant cost.

The car show idea is perfect- I'll implement it and add it to the OP once I get around to it.

For factories and dealerships, I'll make it so that you can sell it normally for 50% of it's normal value, but if you find a player to sell it to, you can sell it for 75% of it's original value.

I have to ask. Will their be any chances of any vehicles being recalled for mechanical purposes?

Meh... I doubt it, unless a lot of players really want to for some reason.

Wonder if it's possible to go bankrupt.

I'll make it a rule that if a player goes 10,000cr or more into debt, the bank will stop lending money to it. The player can then appeal to the country's government for a possible bailout (the result of which will be determined by me) or declare bankruptcy. Debt is a factor in the superformula, so the further you go into debt, the harder it is to get out.

How exactly will alliances work?

It really depends on the alliance- it could be a loose bond like Ford and Mazda, or a close partnership like Nissan and Renault. Players can even offer alliances to NPC brands, which will be controlled by me.

One more question, @JMoney689, is there any chance of telling us our sales figures? It'd be nice to use them to base our future actions on. For example, I'm worried that I may not have enough production capacity, and I know Danny almost certainly has way too much, so if it turns out I need more I'll pay to use his. But I'd rather not spend the money if I don't need to.

I've thought about this- I've reckoned that if a brand have too few dealerships, the factory won't build surplus cars; any car built will be sold. (Vice Versa) Players can feel free to make deals with each other, nobody needs my approval unless what you are doing is impossible.

If you really want them, I'll put the RGN from the formula and put it alongside your profit in each report for any player that wants to know.

I'll do some profit figuring once my Wildcats have won.

So can people in an alliance share the profit and use the factories and dealerships together?

/Foreshadowing

Also no offense, but I think you're playing "God" too much. You can't control everything. How about all the things you do, the decisions and such, should be approved by the majority of company owners instead, like a democracy.

Awesome.

Upon announcement, the streets erupted in glee.

Recalls not being implemented. Yes, the "popular demand" qualifier is there, but are we masochistic enough to WANT that included?

Yeah we should be fine then.

In Phoenix Automotive related moves, if the Flash concept car is well received the vehicle will be produced immediately.

Once the game progresses, I'll have more moderators to help me out. I try to take the players' wants into consideration, but taking polls whenever someone wants a rule change would simply take too long and bog down the game.

My goal is to make the game as realistic as possible without having a meltdown.

Anyway, Kentucky won, so I'm in a good mood right now.

Lone Star Motors would like to announce that we will be introducing two new vehicles to our lineup, the Corinth and the DeLeon, effective Q2. The Corinth will be one of our work focused vehicles, along with upcoming variants of the Austin, and will be our first foray into the van division. The DeLeon, by contrast will be a small sedan built with city driving in mind, acknowledging that not everyone wants or needs a big, tall vehicle. Now, this is a lot to ask of from an upstart brand with a relatively small factory, but not when a second factory has been built to satisfy that need, which we have. The details for these new additions will be below, as will the first revisions of the Austin and Bastrop, but in conclusion I'd like to ask you to keep an eye on the horizon, for LSM is tossing an idea around that might throw you for a loop. Thank you all, and good day.

BKGlover
New Small Factory in Post, TX (about 40 miles SE of Lubbock)
New Dealerships: TX; Midland, El Paso, Waco, Amarillo, San Angelo.
R&D for I4
R&D for V6

New details in Bold

Model Name: LSMC Austin

Drivetrain(s): Front Engine; Rear and 4 Wheel drives available.
Transmission(s): 5 Speed Manual, 5 speed Auto
Location of Factory: I-20 Factory
Description: Our initial Austin offering was apparently pretty decent, so we have expanded the line a bit for those looking for something that is a tad more focused. The Austin's general purpose base model will remain, but is now supplemented with the Austin Climber, built to take on more rugged terrain from go, and the Austin Cruiser, designed to make the harsh Texas roads just that little bit more bearable.

Model Name: LSMC Bastrop
Trim Levels: Base, Cruiser, Climber
Body Style(s): 4-Door Small SUV
Engine(s): 2.0L I4; 3.0L V6
Drivetrain(s): Front Engine; Rear and 4 Wheel drives available.
Transmission(s): 5 Speed Manual, 5 Speed Auto
Location of Factory: I-20 Factory
Description: Like the Austin, the Bastrop seems to have taken off well, so like the Austin, we are adding the Climber and Cruiser trim levels to the Bastrop.

Model Name: LSMC Corinth

Body Style(s): 6 Door Van
Engine(s): 2.0L I4, 3.0L V6
Drivetrain(s): Front engine; Front, Rear, or 4 Wheel drive available
Transmission(s): 5 Speed Manual, 5 Speed Auto
Location of Factory: Post Factory
Description (optional): Two doors up front, one slider on each side, and two on the back. Those are the doors on the new Lone Star Motors Corinth. The Corinth Commerce is the no-frills, business first workhorse that only gets recognized when things go wrong. The Corinth Carrier, conversely, is a family-friendly vehicle with enough room for seven and most anything they may want. Almost anyways. No matter the choice, the Corinth is built with sensibility in mind and is easy to operate when thing work, and easy to access if they don't. Life is hectic enough without having to fight you car.

Model Name: LSMC DeLeon

Body Style(s): 4 Door small sedan
Engine(s): 2.0L I4, 2.0L Turbo I4
Drivetrain(s): Front Engine; Front Drive

Most vehicles, our own lineup included, simply won't cut it in a big city, where parking is at a premium and the fellow drivers would be as welcoming as they are ready to run you down.
