Just curious...any other chase cam drivers do this, 18:04.1, but lots of time still to be gained...

I use chase cam and I am just over 18 minutes, and I am happy with that time ever though the AI slows me down sometimes . I just use the 7th gear the whole race.

I know,its not hurting anybody,you cant use it online races or sportmode so why not leave it.i think it gives people who are not very good at racing a chance to buy and try different cars,rather than slogging it out and losing interest in the game.Just my thoughts.

Valerio Gallo (2021 world champion) uses chase cam. It's true that the vast majority of players don't use it, but it's still a fine option if someone prefers it.

I've got the day off work and I spent an hour this morning doing this...with a G29. My arms still feel like jelly, and it was so awkward re-adjusting to more sensible cars like the Gr3 Subaru after getting used to taking sweepers at over 300km/h. Also, I had to apply at least 270 degrees of lock just to coast around the hairpin. IIRC, I managed a PB in the 18:00s, with a fastest lap of a 1:15.

Here's a setup for anyone that wants a hybrid between the two major setups:

Start with the original 1350hp tune. Duplicate the sheet.

• Set final gear ratio to 4.919
• Add 8kg of ballast
• Power restrictor to 72
• ECU to 98

This gives the stock suspension which is much less twitchy in my opinion, longer gearing for higher speeds, 1831hp and 701ft lb torque while coming in at 597.82PP.

Hope this helps anyone that's wanting to go a little faster than the original but cannot control the really high power tune.

Am I the only one doing this in the Sardegna touring cup? 1:08's-1:10's are fairly easy, and 1:15's when you hit traffic. The best part, as far as I've found, the only place you can get a time penalty is cutting the sweeper before the front straight, and the max is 3 seconds. Set fuel to 4, and RH tires and one stop. Usually done in about 18 mins. Obviously it's a bit less money, but not having to worry about the time penalties, makes it much less infuriating, when you give a little too much steering angle when your off boost and catch a wall.

Sure can. Just snapped pics with my phone so hopefully they're clear (and in a viable file ext. for the site..)


Again, start with the original gearing setup from the first page of this thread. Change the final ratio to 4.919.
I've made changes to 5th and 7th to bring them closer to 6th. 5th = 0.964 7th = 0.750. Play around with 7th to get it where you personally like it as it shouldn't affect the first four gears. 5th can maybe be pushed up a little higher but everytime I tried going much higher it moved the first four gears and that will set you back to 1200+pp.

The ECU and Power Restrictor settings SHOULD just work as long as ballast is set to 8. I've replicated the sheet and it works if I just set the values.

6th is the best gear for traction and the one I suggest using for most of the track. Like with the 2500+ horsepower tune downshift into 5th/4th at the hairpin, launch in 5th or 6th. 7th was brought a little closer to 6th so that 315mph is pretty easy to hit on the straight.

During the race fuel map 5 or 6 is what I've used for no stop. 3 or 4 may be possible but I've not yet tried it.

Hope this is helpful; I shaved about 30sec off my previous fastest race and am now a hair under 17min and I've only done three races with it. If you're an alien and the suspension height doesn't bother you the really high horsepower tune is definitely faster. If you're a mere mortal this should be faster than the original, though it is harder to control due to running a little faster through the twisty sections.

It's penetrated my very core and I'm sick of it. I just want them to patch it so I can't do it any more.

I bought some bloody Ferrari for 3 million bucks and it doesn't even steer. I tried it on Suzuka and it doesn't even steer.

I'm not aware of anyone using chase cam in a sim tbh. Only people who don't even know what a "racing line" is. Switch to bonnet cam for more precise driving. Might feel weird in the beginning but you get to see all of the track, make use of it look where you want to go and not where the car is.

Are you kidding, I paid $$$ for a PS5 so I can appreciate the back of every car in glorious 4k!!!

I think the AI are told to move to the left on a blue flag but it's not consistent and they never, never never never have to serve a time penalty.
I've experimented. I've thrown one into the wall and followed them and they don't serve a penalty.

I just want it to end. I hate it. I've driven it while drunk which was sort of an out of body experience and the twenty minutes seemed ok. I can't always be drunk though

Agreed. I spent one to two hours grinding and then move on to missions instead. It gets so boring after repeating the Tokyo. Sometimes I jump back to sardegna with my clk or mclaren.

Set final ratio to 4.909
make adjustments to the gears starting with 4th and moving up from there.
Set Power Restrictor to 93. ECU to 94. Ballast at 2.

This should give a PP of 594.23 with 2285hp and 801ft lb torque. 4th through 7 are set up to be more normal so that you can utilize them like normal. Coming out of the hairpin I usually launch in 6th until on the straight then drop to 5th and then run through the gears. Should top around 326mph. No Stop at fuel map 6 but it's getting low at that point. 5 would probably require a stop.

It's pretty fast while keeping the stock suspension. Hopefully someone will enjoy it as I'm pretty much done with GT7 for a while. The burn-out is sinking in faster and faster for me.

I already moved on from this, I got tired of the penalties, specially when you hit that freaking Viper on a blind corner and the penalty for hitting a “barrier”… this race has served its purpose, and actually I want to believe it made me have better control of cars now. When I started doing this my avg lap was 1:29 (on the 1700hp tune) and now I’m getting constant 1:16-1:18 laps (on the max power tune) with my personal best of 1:13. So, I’m doing it once daily just for keeping my reflexes on check 😊

Some people like myself won't be happy when it does get patched . I don't think they should patch it. There's gonna be people who want to get the upcoming Legendary Cars like the Nissan Skyline GT-R G500 '99.

Maybe you need to readujust the ride height of that Ferrari FXX-K.

They should patch it. if you’re concerned about buying something then save your money for the future. It’s basically a chore at this point anyway. You probably have at least a week to run it before the exploit is fixed.

On a side note, it’s actually a fun race when you use an appropriate car.

Still using the one stop strat start on Intermediates, 5 laps , pit for fuel and Race Mediums and second stint

Fuel Map 6 all race (using Auto too as cba to even think about gears when grinding)

Tried and didn’t work for me. Back to the OG I go.

Wish it did work, getting used to this one now the Race is second nature. Wish we could get a faster one. I find doing a Tomahawk then the Sardegna road course with a gr 3 or the McLaren F1GTR breaks it up. Got the three group c machines yesterday. Nissan being the best stock imo but the 787b is still good and it’s a toss up what sounds best. The rotary or the Jag V12.

i hope they dont patch this and heres my argument why... yes its easy to make money because its an easy win with a high payout... BUT you have to factor in all the cars in GT7 and how much they cost especially the cars that are 20 million... even the cars that are a million plus theres a good handful of them...you get 825k per race so ya thats a pretty big grind to buy each and every car...so your definitely putting the work in despite the exploit...so i dont agree at all with this getting patched especially with all the backlash with the microtransactions and the legend cars being super overpriced...

Same here, I don't think they should because of the backlash over the expensive cars, some Legends cars being overprice, & Microtransactions.

I’m not one for these types of cheat sheets, but holy snaps! How do people find this stuff? Joined the bandwagon and was able to scoop the Group C cars with the winnings. Did more(with the aid of a 1mil roulette ticket) and completed a 10-car GT3 class(bought the remaining six cars I needed), for my multi-class British GT races. It’s truly addicting.

the way i see it, theres 3-4 options

A. payout for these events is nerfed
B. tomahawk is nerfed
C. event restrictions get adjusted to not allow vgt cars or something
D. PP system is done away with, restrict by hp

Id hope for D but I think A/C are more likely

E. Fix the broken PP from gearing ☺️
